We enjoyed this the most. The hosts are ready to answer all your questions and are very knowledgeable. We learned that Hershey is one of the most successful industrial towns. Milton Hershey set it up so that profits continously go back into education and that they always have a say in what goes on in the town of Hershey. It was really interesting.
We threes family enjoyed chocolate tasting. Full flight tasting is six kind of chocolate drinks. The drinks are very very sweet so that 2 or 3 people can share the tasting chocolate drinks. It starts 10:30 an. After tasting we rushed to go to the Hershey park which open 11:00 am.About museum, there are a lots of history and heritage about Mr.Hershey. I didn’t know that how nice gentleman he is! And I do more like Hershey chocolate and the Hershey company! Amazing!
Fun museum! Not your usual boring museum. Kids were entertained the whole time with all the activities and displays. Really clean too.
The factual information on the tour was well detailed, and I loved how you could give back to a cause at the end. We also did a chocolate tasting, which was very enjoyable.
Had a nice visit, very informative! The only thing that concerned me was during the chocolate lab the one ladies was taking photos for people with there phones, I think germs on people phones can transfer from the gloves to others phones as well as the stuff they were handing out for us. Maybe changing gloves or not handling people’s dirty phones would be my suggestion.
Tons of historical pieces owned by Milton Hershey and his family. Lots of interesting facts. you go in, pay, get a cardboard token that lets you play 4 short stories at 5 kiosks while you walk around. there is a chocolate tasting area at the end. I like the chocolate from Ghana yhr most personally. right now they have hot chocolate and you can substitute chocolate from any of the other countries they have. Mexico and Dominican Republic were very bitter. Good place for older kids. might be boring to young ones
The museum clearly tells the story of Milton Hershey. It was fun and I learned tons. It is not just about him, chocolate, or the Hershey company. It covers how Hershey built his company town- Hershey, Pennsylvania. There was a small exhibit about Hersheys venture in Cuba and how he did, there, the same thing he did in Hershey, PA. The only thing missing is free chocolate for life. Cost was only $12 per person for seniors.
This is a must see for anyone and everyone if you are close by. The story of Milton S. Hershey is inspiring and still continues today. It is a model for all aspects of growth, both personal and professional.
I love history, biographies, and chocolate. This is a neat museum where you get those 3 in 1. It does not take very long to go through. You could spend 1 hour there and feelnlike you did a good scan, or you could linger for 2 or 3 hours to read each sign that interests you. Right now the temporary exhibit is about the Hershey sugar mill in Cuba. The place was called Hershey. There was a Hotel Hershey, baseball team, etc. Shortly after WW II those holdings were sold, which was fortunate since after F. Castro would have been bad for business. The gift shop is great, and Carries candies I do not see anywhere else. Have fun. Do not confuse with Hersheys Chocolate World Experience (which is also neat.)
Museum itself was great and free with our Hershey Hotel stay, but we were disappointed in the chocolate lab class for $13 each. By the set up in the lab it seemed we would be doing more than pouring some already melted chocolate in a mold and adding some sprinkles. Took all of 5 minutes and then we listened to a middle school teacher go through a power point on chocolate making for 30 plus minutes. Not exactly hands on learning for kids or innovative at all. Then when we ate the chocolate later it tasted cheap and nothing like Hershey chocolate. Would have given 5 stars for the museum alone but 1 for the class.
Interesting muesum about Hershey his life and the business and town be built, with a bit of company promotion, but still worth going to. I found the promotion exhibit really fun and interesting
There is so many tidbits and exhibits to take in, following Milton Hershey and the city of Hershey, that any history buff would have a field day. Many of the exhibits are interactive, either with video presentations or just audio presentations, but they are worth the time to enjoy them all. If you have any questions, the staff is very accommodating to your inquiries. The museum is also using the infection control precautions that Chocolate World has implemented and wiping display as soon as they have been touched.I highly recommend the chocolate tasting, it is an extra charge but worth for the chocolate lover in all of us.
Really fun, I loved learning about the famous, Milton Hershey, but my favorite part was doing the chocolate tasting. You get to try 6 different kinds of chocolates from all-around the world. I would really recommend this.
We love learning the history of a place or person, and the Hershey Story museum didnt disappoint!! The world needs more people like Mr. Hershey.
Very good museum! It is a great story and very nice museum. I love the kind and generous nature of this Christian businessman. Must see for anyone in the area.
Awesome place!! Good for any age, interactive, could easily spend more than 2 hours at this place reading everything and doing the chocolate tasting. The people there were all informative and very welcoming, we loved talking to them about the history of Hershey. Would recommend anyone in the area to definitely check this place out!!
Cant wait to see the top half!
Very interesting how a chocoltire advanced a town with factory jobs and schools. And how much more we enjoy the candy today!
This is a very nice gift shop that is located inside of the Hershey Story Museum. You can get to this store for free. There is clothing, candy, jewelry, soaps, Christmas ornaments, books, and more. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. There is plenty of parking in one of the two off street parking lots nearby.
This is a very fun experience. If you are in Hershey I highly recommend this attraction. You actually get quite a bit of bang for your buck. Definitely try out the tasting area and if you have the time the Chocolate lab is a blast.
Great way to tell the story of Milton Hershey. A resourceful businessman, he refined many tools and equipment used to manufacture chocolate and caramel candy. Mr. Hershey employed thousands of people, and was philanthropic to the town of Hershey, PA.
There are many interesting historical exhibits. If youre not into history, this might not be the place for you.
Very interesting. Nice little museum. We learned alot.
The Hershey Story museum was a really nice educational experience. There was a lot of history to see and interactive stations such as a phone you could pick up and hear conversations. There was also a newspaper digital photo booth. The tour was self guided and you could go at your own pace. Afterwards there is a small area for chocolate tasting and a very helpful employee who will guide you through the tasting. It was a fun stop on our way over to Hershey Park. Worth checking out for sure.
Nice history of Milton Hershey and how he build an awesome and flourishing town. A must see if you visit Hershey PA or Hershey Park. It is beautiful inside. They also have a chocolate tasting (additional fee) and they also have a chocolate lap where people can make candy with chocolate. There is also a cute little cafe called The Pantry, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Was a nice break before we headed back on the road.
Creative way to sell branded propaganda... And oh yeah, I bought some of it.
First class museum! Wonderful staff who were all so friendly in all areas of the museum. Enjoyed a flight of hot chocolate which were delicious. Also got to make truffles which was fun and delicious, and the teachers were very friendly and informative, making the class a great experience. You get wooden chip which activate different kiosks throughout the museum, personalizing your experience. Would plan on at least a half day if not a full day to see it all if youre a slow mover who likes to read everything like my wife and I do. All in all we loved our visit here and would highly recommend!
Great experience for kids! The interactive museum was great but the Chocolate Lab was a huge highlight! Go before noon for free parking. The Pantry connected to the Lobby has a great breakfast/lunch spot.
Huge 2 stores building about first mass production of chocolate. The museum offering chocolate making class experience, hot chocolate tasting and few halls multimedia exhibition about history of chocolate production and Hershey himself.Sorry for my broken English, but simply can not find the way to describe level of my delightfulness. The museum is absolutely fantastic and easily can turn adult to the kid from the movie and time is flying extremely fast. Well done, The Hershey museum, well done!
The Hershey Story was a fun and educational time for the whole family. They lots of exhibits, information, some videos, and interactive displays teaching you all about Milton Hershey, chocolate making, Hershey, PA, and a town in Cuba that was basically built by Hershey. There was a scavenger hunt and a booklet of questions kids could do for a few extra dollars to become an apprentice. We even made our own Truffles in the Chocolate Lab (extra fee). We recommend it but give yourself a few hours. Theres a lot to do and see!
Loved this. Kid friendly. Very organized and interactive. Buy a chocolate tasting its worth it!
Very much worth the wait. Was very well worth the cost of admission. I will bring back the other half of my family next time I come and recommend friends to your establishment.
This Museum is a great history of the Hershey company and of the life of Milton Hershey. We spent 1.5 to 2 hours wandering through all the exhibits, reading, watching and learning. We enjoyed the interactive displays. We only purchased the Basic Museum experience. The building is clean and well kept. The workers were fun and knowledgeable. They made the experience much better for us all.
Awesome place the staff was amazing a a staff member name ben was awesome and amazing the place is cool see how Hershey was made
Great time. Wish there were men like Milton Hershey around still! The man cared about humans genuinely and was a genius when it came to business. Visit the museum to learn more!
The museum is small, costs around $12 a person before discounts. There is free admission for a active duty military which includes an additional $3 off each persons ticket in their group. They also give a $3 discount to teachers. there is a big parking garage in the back which is free to park in which is a plus. Several of the exhibits are interactive for the kids. All in all, it was nice to stop if youre in the area to learn the history. I would not however go out on my way to the museum.
Its a great place if youre interested in knowing the history of Hershey. I was with a 5 yr old and it was hard to keep her interested. What theyve done is awesome.
Not a place you need to go to often but a very informative and well delivered history of Hershey and his chocolate. The cashier will hand over a coin which provides the interactive part of the tour. You activate the coin and put in your information. Then you enter the museum via a long and luxurious stairwell (or elevator) and youll be supplied with a scavenger hunt paper which leads you through the story and ensures you dont miss a thing.Expect to be educated about the life and times of Milton Hershey, his machines, extravagant purchases, including a beautiful chandelier and a Titanic ticket and his establishing of the town of Hershey.Well done Hershey Entertainment!
Its funny how the Hershey Museum is located outside of the Hershey Park area and requires an actual relocation of vehicle to get to. I happened to visit on the day of Mr. Hersheys birthday so I got to see the museum at half price. However, the $12.50 admission seems reasonable for this small, but well curated museum that covers the complete history of Hershey. The one thing that I didnt get to do was go to the Chocolate Lab Class. It would have been slightly awkward for a big guy like me to be playing with chocolate in a room full of kids with their mothers. Within the museum building is a small gift shop in case you cant make it out to the Chocolate World to buy swags and there is a coffee shop (The Pantry Cafe) that carries Peets coffee.
We had a great time here. I found Milton Hersheys story very interesting and intriguing. There is so much more to him than chocolate. There is a lot of reading, so smaller children may not find this as fun as the older ones. There are some interactive displays though where you can design your own Hershey bar label and actually email it to yourself. The chocolate tasting is definitely worth it for any chocolate lover. So yummy.
I was expected much more from this museum - not enough attention from small kids and to hard trying to make Milton Hershey real hero.Museum small - you just need an hour or less.By the way, chocolate tasting was great.
We visited this museum at the end of our Hershey trip, and we were pleasantly surprised how good it was!Lots to see and read, and it if you have been on the Hershey trolley tour it goes into further detail about the town and Milton Hershey. There is a parking garage behind the museum with plenty of places to park.
We loved this. What a cool guy Mr. Hershey was! My son enjoyed the chocolate tasting. I got to try a few too. ️
A Real nice... We didnt have time to finish the entire tour; so we will go back again. I love that we could go at our own pace.Oh yeah, you have to try the chocolate covered bacon .... Yummy
Something cool to do while youre in Hershey, PA. Focuses on Milton Hersheys life story. We took our 3 kids (7, 6, and 2 years old) on a rainy day. We went around 3pm, and it took about 2.5 hours to do everything. It was not crowded at all. We ate a light, late lunch at the cafe. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. We added the chocolate tasting to our admission. That was something different and we all enjoyed tasting the differences in the cocoa. We also got the scavenger hunt packet to complete for $3, and once completed the kids get Hersheys business card, an embossing, and a shiny coin - this made it more exciting for my older girls to read about Hershey throughout the museum. There were several interactive features (buttons to push, etc.) which my 2 year old loved. We did not do the Chocolate Lab experience (also extra fee), so I cant comment on that. Overall, Id recommend the museum. My only criticism is that the admission is a bit steep but I was able to find a Groupon which essentially got us 1/2 price for general admission + tasting.
Very nice. You can make a chocolate bar and have chocolate tastings. If you get hungry you can eat in there Cafe. They also have a lot of information on Milton Hershey and the city of hershey.
This was pretty cool. We learned a lot about Mr. Hershey. The story about his failures and successes was amazing. I really liked to see how he had such vision to make the brand, town, and empire what it is today.
They have great exhibits and great staff that is always around that you could ask for help. You could learn a lot from all the exhibits and I thought is was pretty cool. Its also kid friendly a good gift store and kids section for hand on hand interactions.
Very well done museum! Neat story of Milton Hershey, pleasant staff, clean, and great place to visit with the family. We did the chocolate lab as well which was informative, tasty and a fun activity.
It was a few n experience but not great for smaller kids. Educational but not a hands on experience. I would think kids 12 or older would have more fun.
We had a great time and the tickets were complimentary for staying at the hotel. The town was charming and the museum was very inspiring, as Mr and Mrs Hershey were so constructive and philanthropic.
We did entire museum, chocolate tasting and the chocolate lab. Alot of fun and informative. We were the only two at the lab and Donna taught us alot
Very interesting history. Bueatiful building.
A lot of nice Hershey Memorabilia and knick knacks for sale. Things were well organized and displayed. There was a very cool tile mural on the wall.
Great place .lived maryland most of my life. And learned things i never knew
Was a great experience. It was nice to be able to read about my heritage and what milton Hershey had accomplished. Im going to need to make another trip without my four year old so I can actually sit and watch the short movies they have playing.
Great place to go if you have kids; theyd love the experience
Its not like any other museum. A normal museum will just display their things. This museum was able to cram up Milton S. Hersheys whole life into one museum and still make it interesting. At the entrance, they will give you a coin to start the videos in the museum. In my opinion, I like the video game where you have to make a kisses machine work in time. It challenging! Fun for all kids to enjoy. Its easy to take care of them when they are hungry or tired. There is a cafe that you will see when you walk in and videos where you can sit down to relax for a little bit. Visit the gift shop on your way out!
Museum is located in a very nice stretch of downtown.. We were only able to visit the museum and not any of the other add ons, but still had a great time learning about Hershey.Make sure to do the chocolate tasting before you leave as its really good!
Well worth the time. Well done!
I would never have thought that the history of a candy company and the man who founded it would be super interesting and that the museum would capture my attention for several hours but there you go.
Very neat, clean and contemporary. With displays and valuable items from the late 1800s into the 1900s. All part of our early American history.Mr. Hershey was a very intuitive and progressive man. He is among the group of individules that made this country great. He was able to see things that didnt exist and bring them into existence. A great american and a wonderful place to visit.
Lots of fun.. history was cool. making your own choclate bar is great.
People are very friendly and helpful answered questions and alot of history there. My grandkids found it interesting too.
Very nice and interactive experience. Definitely a nice museum to learn about Hershey.
They did a great job with telling the Hershey story! Highly recommend the tasting - YUM!
It was cool. Not too much for kids to enjoy.
They did a great job in keeping my family safe from social distancing
This very much was an enjoyable and enlightening experience. Such an interesting and inspiring story that is told about Milton. Very engaging with some pretty high tech exhibits that will inform you of just about every aspect of the Hershey experience. Definitely worth a visit the next time you stop at Hershey!
This is a wonderful place to get acquainted with, not only the history of Hershey Chocolate, and the story of the town of Hershey, PA, but a look at a good look at a man who was not only a forward look entrepreneur but a philanthropist with few equals. This stop on a tour of central PA will take the better part of at least a whole afternoon, and it may not stop there. There is still the Amusement Park, the Zoo, and the Hershey Gardens and Butterfly House.Fun and education all in one stop. You wont beat it anywhere.
Interesting information educational. Kids 6 and under may be bored
Loved it! A lot of things to see!
Very small but a good few minutes. Book Chocolate Lab in advance, it fills up quick.
Fun and informative for children and adults alike.
Wow alot i didnt know
Meh. No free chocolate anywhere.Boring. Did i mention no free (or even cheap) chocolate. Nope
We received complimentary tickets from Hershey Lodge and so glad we could make it. Learning all about Hershey and the town was really fun. Staff were helpful, informative, and friendly. Text heavy overall, but the museum also offers plenty of interactive activities. For kids older than 5, separate tickets for chocolate lab classes are available as well.
Everything is Great!BUT The Museum closed early.
This place is so fun! Ive been wanting to go. I took the chance, since I was in Philadelphia anyway, not dissappointed at all! Few of the exhibits are interactive, which are good for kids, but hey, being in love with chocolate is never too old! Dont hesitate to spend a bit more to do the chocolate lab! It was definitely my favorite part!
Excellent interactive history of Hershey, there’s enough to the kids and adults interested.
The museum was a wonderful experience! I learned so much about Milton Hersheys life and the life of his creations. I loved seeing authentic items from his past and Hersheys past as a company and I absolutely loved the interactive parts of the museum. I wish there had been a little more about the machinery or about the old candies, but otherwise I loved the place. I also appreciated that there were little movies that you could sit and watch that gave you more info on that specific section of time (like the recreation and work in Hershey section, or the part where we learn about the machines.) I think the movies were a good way to add some time and some lessons to an otherwise self guided trip and I think that was lovely.I will suggest anyone who goes to the museum also stop at the pantry cafe. Its so worth it!
Loved it! Very interesting and informative! Wait till you learn about the Hershey school! Youll be so pleasantly surprised. Its still open today! We ran out of time because we wanted to read and see everything there. What a treat. And we learn more about chocolate and got to make another chocolate bar!
I remember back when I went over to the Hershey museum. The exhibits were some of the most entertaining things I’ve seen in a long time. They also had this one demonstration room where guests could create their own chocolate bars. Mine was slightly spicy.
Great museum, very interesting and well presented
Very nice museum of Milton Hersheys story. They have a restaurant and the chocolate lab is a lot of fun!
Updated with newer sections on Hersheys history. We specially loved the tasting section (shot glasses of hot chocolate from around the world)... Chocolate lab was fun too (the instructors could be a little happier... Ran through the process very fast)
Great place for understanding the process of chocolate making, history of Hershey’s, and prominent figures who brought the brand to fruition.
My daughter loved it there and for a 12 year old that’s a plus to keep her off her phone! We did the tour ourselves so we could take our time. We loved how you could be interactive with some of the displays and it was very informative. We also took part of the chocolate making with the chocolate lab and had a great time making chocolate we went around Halloween time so it was really fun!
Great, cant wait to come back!! I especially liked the Hershey Cuba exhibit!
Museum and Choc Lab were very well done. This was way better than Hershey Chocolate World.
