Its great to have a dog park for socialization I just which there were more responsible dog owners Good that it has water it does get very dirty there
Really like it..., Lots of parking, shade, sunshine grass and water :) although it looks like if you tried to come when its rained itll just be a mud pile but on a sunny day or day you dont mind the mess definitely a good park.
This a large size park and our go to in the area. Great for big dogs. Like any dog park it has its flaws but I can’t complain considering it’s public and free. Has a few benches. Bags and trash available. Water goes on in the warmer months. It’s mostly dirt so be mindful on wet or windy days. Also has a smaller area for puppies or small dogs.
Very large area with trees and shades to run your dog offleash. Trash bags and cans available but no running water in the winter so bring your own. The small dog area is adjacent to the large dog area so its easy to keep an eye on your dogs if you happen to have one large and one small. My dogs new happy place.
Park is large, loads of shade, but always either dusty or muddy... no in between . Park could use more animal control presence.Seating is very limited, however no need—- dogs don’t sit in chairs and it’s a dog park... not a people sitting park.Have had a few times that children under twelve have come up alone on their bikes and have entered the park—-no adult, no dog.Mostly friendly people. Mostly friendly dogs
Beautiful day and the park was busy...
A nice dog park. Good size, some trees for shade. Could use a little more ground cover (mulch maybe?). Worth a visit.
Great dog park. Shaded with a few benches. Plenty of room for the dogs to run and play
I didnt like the vibe here. Most dog parks are warm and friendly places.People spent more time on their phones than paying attention to their dogs.
Worst public dog park in northern Virginia. Most of the park is covered with rocks. And not little rocks but stones the size of an adults hand. I wouldnt want any dog to run and step on them so I spent 30 minutes collecting them and throwing them to the side of the park.If the park didnt have the Rick problem it wouldnt be so bad. Has trees and is fairly big with an additional small dog fenced in area.
Great dog park. 2 areas for large and small dogs.
I was working. Were building a new walk bridge to the dog park. Its going great
Decent dog park, my bud seemed happy there.
Big area for the BIG Dogs with lots of space for them to run around. Beautiful Big trees within the space. Small dog space is too small and boring. No trees within the space. Maybe a small covered area would be good to be able to get a break from.the sun in the Summer. Bring an umbrella with you in August!
Big are for the pups to run, some nice platforms for them to bounce on. Only thing missing was seating.
Fun place, remember water during fall and winter, since the park cuts the water to the spigot.
Some grassy areas but a lot of dirt. Several dog parents ignoring their dogs going potty and didnt clean up after their dog went. Not the dog parks fault but an aggressive dog there as well.
Good size park with separate section for the small dogs. Do bring your own water. Lots of trees and a few things for them to play on. The dogs and people (with the exception of one snooty dog walker I met there) are great.
Nice place. Nice people. I have a small chihuahua but he got friendly with some dogs. Some kids came with a pit and it seemed a little aggressive as we were leaving towards another big dog. Owners had to step in to separate. Not sure if kids should bring their dogs without a proper adult. Still good and spacey. Small part for small dogs is decent too.
This is a decent fenced in dog park, with a separate area for smaller dogs. Theres lots of tree cover, but the sandy dirt can be a bit messy and stinky. There is running water available for dog water.
Easy to find and nice park....dirt and green with trees...fresh water available...Im coming back.
Best dog park in Reston. Much cleaner than the others.
Decent size for the urban area. Clean. Nice people. Water doesnt seem to work so bring your own.
Good place to take your dog. Regulars who go there are excellent, but occasional oddballs show up who either think they are entitled to the entire park or are totally aloof.
Always full of friendly dogs and people! Shady and the best part is the hydrant for water!
Lovely dog park with water and plenty of space for the pups to run and play. People there are great too, very nice and friendly. :)
Couple owners with dogs that get aggressive. Park is big and 99% of owners pick up after dogs. We are regulars.
Our dog enjoys his time at the park where he can run free with other pups. Only con is some dog owners make the visit stressful for others. The dog park is not made for everyone or dog for that matter.
Not much grass left. Plan to get you and your dog dirty after leaving this park. Spacious enough for a bunch of dogs to play and do their own thing.
Great place to play. Big open field, fenced, with plenty of benches to rest up on. Obstacles for the dogs to play with. Natural grass and dirt, not gravel or plastic. Some nice shade trees, too.
Can be very muddy. Some people just bring their dog here to poop then leave. Many owners do not watch their pet but instead text or surf the web on their phone. If you walk around the park, plan on scraping the dog dirt from your shoes since it is filled with areas of piles. Has the potential to be a fair park if people become considerate of their personal responsibilities. Becarefull ... Since being it is unclean it may cause your dog to become sick.
No one has been taking care of this park. The grass is too high, the fence needs repaired, and the walk over bridge needs wood replaced.
Best Dog Park near Herndon and or Reston. Grass has come back a little thanks to the rain. My dogs love it but some dogs seem a little sheltered timid and mean!
Good place to hang out in the evenings with your pet. Feels relaxing .
Lots of shade, water provided for dogs, a wading pool for dogs. Several Clean up stations also.
Good sized park, lots of parking, grass (dirt) and trees. Not as crowded as Reston.Caters to big dogs, there is a smaller area for little dogs that is well grassed, but its almost always empty. There is a separate entrance to the little dog side, a lot of people miss it and end up walking through the big park.Water is on site and there are wading pools for dogs to splash around in. There is also some agility equipment if you want to experiment. Not paying attention and picking up after your dog is a big taboo here, dont look the other way or the regulars will call you out!
Gets super muddy when it rains. wear rain boots and prepare to clean your dog.
Nice size but really neglected, barely any grass
A nice park and well maintained
We have 2 small dogs and took them to the dog park for a new adventure. We were pretty disappointed. The small dog area is just that......small, too small. Although it has grass which is a plus. Theres no water accessible either. The water is in the large dog area along with lots of space, agility items, trees and dirt.
Nicely shaded area for dogs to play very friendly atmosphere
Good size area for the dogs to run around in but it does get fairly sloppy when wet.
Good dog park, maintained well.
Ample space. Prepare for your pup to get dirty!!
Pretty good for free.
Its a nice dog park, hidden away behind townhomes and near World Gate shopping center in Herndon. Its nice sized park, similar to the Reston dog park. The difference is there are trees inside the park as well as ramp for dogs to climb up and down with, which is a welcome addition compared to other parks. There are also plenty of benches throughout the park for people to set on which other dog parks seem to lack. I also love thats it very close to my home! As for the negatives: the ground is dirt vs gravel like at Restons dog park so when it rains there are muddy spots in various areas and the other big negative is that sometimes there is no one at the dog park. It has people in the late afternoon early evening, unlike at Reston dog park which has people and their dogs at all times. All in all its a great place for your pups and I definitely recommend it.
Safe fence, poo bags and water. Basically a sufficient dog run and for the most part its friendly.
My dog loves the place. It can be a little dead at times, but it is never really busy.
I have 2 Havanese females, 9 pounds each. My husband and I took them to the Chandon Dog Park to play in the small dog enclosed area, for dogs less than 25 pounds. It was nice we were the only ones in that section, thats the good news. It did not take me long to find out why we were the only ones in this section. The bad news: It appeared the grass had not been cut in weeks. The weeds were taller than my dogs. There were hidden mud patches and deep holes scattered amongst the grass that was not noticeable from afar. There were no trees in this section, so on this sunny hot day, there was no shade for my dogs. When we left my dogs were covered in mud!Contrast this to the big dog area fo dogs greater than 25 pounds. This was more of a park, lots of trees, grass was cut, in addition, they had several large pieces of agility equipment for dogs. For small dogs, I would not recommend. I cannot give this dog park even 1 star. But, I had to give it one star or else this review would not post. Do not waste your time!
Medium sized dog park. Love that its shaded and usually a good crowd of dogs.
Large, open plot with a separate plot for smaller dogs. On-site water well.
Good park. Spacious.
Big open space, shade trees, water for the dogs!! Benches for the pet parents to sit on are always a plus!!
Closed, under construction 10/24/19
Dont recommend ever bringing your dog to a dog park. this is where bad habits are created. Socializing your dog can be done elsewhere.
Only dog park in town.
My dogs liked it
Could have more
Theres no separate area for small dogs...
Friendly dog park that has tons of room for your pup to run.
Lots of fun with the pups.
