The new management are doing a good job on sanitized and clean, also give u good deals and treat you good
They were carding a 70 year old man and his wife in a wheelchair to watch an R rated movie as if he was 12. Then when it was my turn to buy a ticket they carded me to watch an R rated movie and then tried to card my father. Who is over twice my age. He didn’t bring his wallet with him since I was paying for the tickets and then refused to let him in. The staff seemed hopeless without their manager who refused to let anyone who didn’t have an ID into the theater. Just go to Wake Forest or something. These people really don’t know what they’re doing.
Out of business now but had lots of good memories
My family and I went to see The Lion King. Everyone was friendly and the snacks smelled and tasted delicious!! The theatre was clean quiet and not too cool. We had a great family experience. Planning to visit again soon!
Good customer service but miss the movie time due to the cv19
This place was absolutely awful! Ive never had staff be so rude! I asked for my money back b4 the movie even started bc of how rude they were and they refused! They asked to search my bag as well and I had a half a bag of skittles in my purse tht were my daughters. They told me I would need to take them back out so I did. I come right back and they asked to search my purse again! After I had bought drink and popcorn. They have definitely lost my business!
If I could give this place NO STARS I WOULD!!! We get to the movie theater for a 3:30pm showing of Bad Boys II. We arrived a few minutes late, theres a line out the door with one attendant available to purchase tickets from. The manager, a heavy, short stout man, walked away from the register, and a young girl who was previously assisting with serving popcorn came to the register. It was my turn to purchase tickets, she asked for my ID. She was a bit stern, with attitude in there voice but she was young and probably had experienced a lot of push back so she felt the need to speak to me with authority. We definitely look older than 18 y/o but if thats the rules of the games, okay well play. I also saw, after being made aware of the rules, there were a few signs hanging up saying the same. We returned to our car to get our ID. Coming back in the movie theater, the manager was back at the register. There appeared to be what was a family of four in front of us, white, but he purchased tickets for two, him and his wife. Who was with me said to me, he better ask for their ID, HE DIDNT!!!!!!!!!!! I asked, why didnt you ask for their ID. I was just instructed that I must have an ID to purchase tickets by your popcorn attendent. He replies, she cant judge who needs an ID or not. I then replied, as I was walking up to the register, you have signs posted, your rules say to see an R rates movie the customer must present an ID. I then got up to the register, I handed him my credit card to payment of tickets. He begins to give me a slow explanation as to why he didnt ask for their ID, to justify his asking for ID from some customers and not asking for ID from other customers. I then replied, I dont want to hear an explanation about you not asking for their ID and I was refused service until I went back out in the car to get mine. At that point there was nothing he could say but hand me my card and say, I will have to refuse service. We said, ok. If youre going to enforce a rule, no thought process goes into enforcing unless you strictly enforce it to some people.
Comfy seating. However, it is usually dirty and rather pricey! Family of 5. Cant go for less than $100 with tickets and cheapest snacks. We do not go often for these reasons!
As far as movie theaters go this one is decent but small. They dont have every new release, but they usually have the most popular ones.

Its a nice movie theater. Small but cozy.
Friendly Hometown staff makes it an easy choice when going to see a movie. Prices are fair. They have free movies in the summer for the kids.
My child is autistic and they always are helpful with her needs.
Very dirty and only movie theater in the area besides drive in.
Sunday after church it was only 8 people in the Movie we were in. Cozy
Since I saw conflicting information on the Internet about which movies were playing tonight I called the number provided here. Rather than tell me which movies were playing he time me to call another number but didnt offer it and wouldnt tell me whats playing. Dont bother calling this number.
Lovely setting to relax with my family at the movies.
Nice little theater local theater. Its always clean and reasonably priced. They have first run movies, great treats at good prices. During school they are only open late afternoons and evenings and I do wish they had at least one day of matinees, but I do understand.
Always a pleasant experience. Courteous and friendly staff. Theater is reasonably clean and the prices are fair.
Nothing to complain about. Nothing to right home about either.
The staff is very friendly. Recently, my 14 y/o daughter went with friends to see Avengers: End Game and the theater was packed. They had to sit separately, and my daughter called me crying, saying she couldnt find a seat. I told her to find an employee to see if they can help her. She said they were really nice and helped her find a seat in the front. As a parent, I really appreciate them treating so well. The only thing that could be improved is the floors in the theater are always sticky. It is a decent theater though.
I like Marketplace Cinema. The staff is helpful and l appreciate their work
Had a great time. The cinema was nice but my wife tells me that the ladies bathroom was very dirty
Comforatble seating. Plenty of room. Good customer service. The movie screen in great condition.
I love going to Marketplace Cinema. I have been watching movies here for over 25 years. The people are friendly and the popcorn is good.
Awesome place to take the family, good food and descent prices
My husband decided to take me to the movies for a date night. I was so excited because we rarely have time to go out 3 years to be exact. We arrived 9 PM so we can get a seat. Captain Marvel 9:30 pm. They would not let us in. We thought it was because they was cleaning. Five minutes till before the movie starts and they still would not let us in. The movie employee did not allow us to go in until after 9:30. We were the first people there or so we thought. White couples was already seated. They were allowed in at 9. Chuckle. We found good seats just in time before the movie started. We missed all the trailers for upcoming movies that usually show before the movie. The seats are too small and the arms do not lift up. The place has a old smell. Finally the movie starts and children start talking on cell phones and their friends beside them. Next the teens ran up and down the aisle throughout the entire movie. The employees came once to stop all the ruckus. So our date night was ruined. If you want an enjoyable experience go somewhere else. This was Not worth our time or money. Movie was the only thing good. Next time we are going to the Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre( the name is missed spelled-the actual name).
Good place to see a movie. Food to expensive though
They have good movies playing
Nice Old Theatre..snacks..sodas Too much money
Small movie theater but serves the purpose. Tickets are sold outside the door before you go in to see your movie. Prices are reasonable, a lot of parking space and a lot of different stores surround it. Would recommend.
Folks be mindful if you want to go to this place--a relative went there not that long ago on a day when they werent that busy, only to be met in the lobby by someone who declared hed be searching her purse. Apparently she was flatly told by a manager it was simply our policy. Ive never seen that done at any other theater Ive ever been to, but hearing about the way she was treated Id avoid this place. No one deserves that degree of inhospitality.
Went to a new Caribbean cafe called Chewly Delicious... the food is great and the prices are reasonable. Gives a little variety to the city of Henderson.
If you think you really cant afford movies tickets, try the early shows if you have time.
Clean and comfortable seats that recline. The refreshments are high as ever!
Clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced. Some features are a little old and worn, but this is a good place to watch the latest movies.
Clean. Courteous. Prices are reasonable.
The movie was good and the food was delicious and I had a great time with my family
Closed... Very shadyarea...
Great
Good first run movies and great staff.
The theater smelt like urine and the floors were sticky and covered in trash and popcorn....disgusting
If you are a woman and do not buy popcorn and a drink, be prepared for them to look through your bag. I noticed the two women in front of me had popcorn and they didnt ask them to open their bags, but because all I had was a bottle of water they asked me to open my bag. When I challenged the woman who requested it she told me she did look through their bags but, she did not. I purposely watched to see if she would and she did not. This is the only movie theater I have been in in my life where my bag has had to be looked into. This is just to make sure youre not smuggling any goodies in to eat them in the theater. Very poor taste and poor business manners!
Enjoyed as usual
Its ok. Over priced concession stand. Great movies with good movie ticket prices
Good variety of movies playing, efficient staff, fair prices. Well lit parking. Bathrooms are not always clean, but there is never a wait. If your a lady with a purse a male employee looks in it at your contents.
Watched Endgame. No end credits. Quietly died...
Greater place for a movie. Easy to get in and out.
Very clean and quiet love it need to go you will enjoy it too
Great prices mostly clean beware of endgame spoilers
Very cramped and hard to tell what is going on other than the noise and disturbances not my kind of fun sorry
This is a really nice small theater. Also they are selling authentic movie posters for 2$ each.
Nice place . great service
Decent small town movie theater. Good popcorn & candy selection. Friendly staff.
The staff are nice they don’t get anything wrong the movies come out good and smooth clean bathrooms
It was ok. Nothing special
My family and I are in Henderson visiting family, we live in south florida. We decided to check out a movie at the Marketplace Cinema. When purchasing our tickets, I was surprised that the man behind the counter wanted to check my ID. That would seem reasonable if I looked like a minor, but i don’t. I am an older woman with obvious gray hair. However, since the movie was rated R, I would have been denied admission if I didn’t show my ID. I complied with his wishes. I also overheard the same man telling another group of paying customers “don’t do anything to get yourself kicked out”. In South Florida, there are many options to choose from when it comes to movie theatres. There are leather recliners, reserved seating, stadium style seating, with IMAX screens and Dolby surround sound, dinner and a movie options, where you are served by a waiter during the show and more. Yet I have never felt so unwelcomed as I did at the marketplace cinema. In my personal opinion, the staff there are unfriendly and unaccomodating, the theatre was small, and had a dirty stale odor. The seats were hard and uncomfortable. The overall experience was very poor. They theatre is run, like it’s the only option in a one horse town. I understand that there are protocols for minors, and security with bag checks. All of which can be done with common sense, in a courteous manner.
Reasonable prices and movie times
The loneliest place in the world. Watched two movies with just me in attendance. The seats make me itch. Need a mortgage if youre taking more than one person.
My rewards card is maybe a year old. Over that time I have accumulated points to earn freebies. Well low and behold the register wouldnt read my card instead of the manager having a solution he said I had to start over with a new card. Poor service all around. Also the nachos have been stale for months now. Ive returned those twice now.
Oh Henderson, you try so hard and then theres s shooting. Things are getting better / could be better / will never get better? Who knows. There are institutional problems galore that help Henderson be Henderson. Everything from charter schools to a disappearing middle class help make this metropolis what it is. Pray for Henderson friends.
The people are not friendly at all. The place needs updating.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday they have a last show at 9... it is the weekend time. Grown folks like to stay late. I am aware this is nc Im from me but WOW. What about the people who work late on weekends? Please help them fix this because everywhere else they have shows that go till 2 am. Hint more money for security. Wedding have much here anyway. Please.
Nice cozy theatre, not to impressed with cashier, not very welcoming. Rules to strict for adult over age 50, needs to see my I D Really. He needs a course in customer service.
On July 2, 2017 I took my kids to watch a movie there and this is our experience; we went in and ask if my son could utilized the restroom and a person in charge of checking the tickets told me we needed to have tickets in order to use the restroom. So we bought tickets for a movie that would start an hour later. My son was able to use the restroom. And since there were no seats anywhere to wait, we sat on the floor against the wall while we wait for the movie to begin. Then the person in charge of checking the tickets told us we could not sit on the hall way because he needed to keep it clear, to which I replied: there is no people walking thru!. He then said you guys have to wait in the lobby. So we went to the lobby where theres no seats. So i went up the one of the staff members and asked for a refund and they told me I had to ask the manager. I asked for the manager and they told me it was the person checking for the tickets. And also that most likely he wouldnt give back a refund. So as I explained what had happened the manager showed up which instead of asking a costumer service question right away he clarified we dont refund the money back, it says it on the ticket! I told him we were not satisfied with the service he provided. Even some employees agreed that other customers had issues with him in the past. And since I couldnt get my refund back and I had already paid 22.50 for 3 tickets (1 adult and 2 kids) I figured we wait for the movie to start. We waited 20 minutes to be allowed to go in to the theater. Once we went in, my daughter felt sick of the smell of the theater. She told me it smelled really bad, but since I had spent the money for the movie that she would be okay sitting there and watch the movie. So got my 2 kids and left without watching the movie. I called the movie theater to see if I could get the managers boss phone number, unlucky for me, the manager answered the phone and I asked for the owner/his boss number and he denied giving it to me by saying this: how do you know Im not the owner of this business and I could not get him out of that phrase. He hang up on me saying he will not answer any of my questions. Im not from this area, and this type of people give bad reputation to this businesses. I hope he gets trained properly on customer service.
Good movie theater great sound
Rude staff. The worker wanted to argue. Will not return!
Never had a problem, always an enjoyable time coming to this theater. Dont let the small size fool you.
Courteous service, clean theatres well lit parking lot.
Staff was very professional yet on appearance seem to be very young. and very friendly and organized. It was clean and no odors. Had A very good time.
Its ok can be better
The design needs a face lift very old Fashion Prices are Ok. Service is very very good
Very low budget run down theater they gave me the biggest hassle about bringing my kids to watch a r rated movie like its non of their business staff was rude I should have never spent my money here the seats are so old and uncomfortable lights are hanging from the ceiling like they are about to fall and they had the nerve to tell me that is their policy they need to be shut down in the first place I will never go back to the piece of trash theater
Great time, great service at a not too high price!
Older theater. Kind workers. Can buy origional movie posters for just a couple of dollars!
My favorite local Japanese restaurant is located here. Ichibar is the best Japanese restaurant Ive had the privilege of dining in. Ive never had a bad experience, whether dine-in or take-out.
Theater is beginning to show its age but all in all good movies
Lots of shops and parking, very easy to get in and out of. It is just all around convenient.
Tried to take my little brothers to see 1917, an R rated movie . Im my little brothers legal guardian and 23 years old . I showed the ticket person my I.D. and he then demanded their I.d., the rules state that they dont need i.d. with a guardian . Im very angry with this theater and tell others to avoid using it in the future .
A good movie theater (the best in town, considering there are no others.)
My husband and I frequent Marketplace Cinema often. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. The movie selections are good and the prices are reasonable for this area. I do not feel frightened or threatened there. For the most part, the patrons are just like me...wanting to enjoy a good movie. You can find the negative anywhere if you look for it. I choose to try and find the positive and I am glad that Henderson has the Marketplace Cinema.
Very good place to shop, drop, and roll. Police! Police! They love this area. They eat, talk and live here.
Great place, I have been going here since I was a child
Great place to take family.
Great experience
Love the popcorn
Nice and quiet
Drives me crazy that peopl in their 50s, 60s and 70s need to show their ID and get a hand stamp for an R rated movie! No common sense!
My phone got stolen there.
Excellent location with great parking and a vast selection of spirits.
Is a beautiful place specie to theater
Nice theater but very bad and violent area. I feel as though the theater should relocate to a safer area in the future.
Warm and friendly staff lovely place
I this place because its home, convenient, and you got a variety of places to go all in one stop.
Nice brand new equipment!
Sound was great and screens very large. But more than anything needs an upgrade.
