Over the top beautiful and the wine was excellent
If you want a unique experience and looking to buy a couple bottles of really good wine that you will probably not be able to find back home-then make sure you stop here. They are a family owned winery that chooses to only produce small amount of wine so they can take their time and produce great wines. They have cab and cab/Merlot mix that are wonderful. The bottles are about 40$ and at time of our visit no cost for tasting (not typical tasting room) and small tour. Note if you visit in May they might be closed. Their local wine members pick up theirs wine and celebrate during that time so they close toThe public. Memberships are limited but worth it.
One of my all time favorite wineries! This was one of the places that got me to not only love wine, but understand it. Their Cabs and Zins are second to none with best of use of wood in any wine I know. A good family making great wine for a long time.
Come for the zinfandel, stay for the zinfandel. Family operated, by appt, consistently killer zinfandel but dont miss out on the Cabernet. Couldnt be a better example of northern California zinfandel. Plus only available by list or restaurants so get it if you can.
Family owned and run with small production vintages. Absolutely delicious! A beautiful winery as when finished tasting and purchasing their wine...take a stroll around the property to take in the beauty. Amazing gardens and landscape...truly incredible!
By-appointment visits. We tasted 3 wines (zin, Merlot, cab) and got a tour of the cellars. It was fun to see the old hand methods still in use at the winery, which has a small production, with very limited availability. We picked up two of the cabs - the max allowed. There is a lovely walk out back, up into the vines and olive trees, and a nice picnic spot above the lake.
Had the Rafanelli Cab at a restaurant in Sonoma. So pleased with it, I made an appointment for a tasting. Purchased bottles of the three wines I tasted to ship home. Quaint tasting room and beautiful setting.
Very good red wines. Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were at fantastic. This is winery is a must if you are in Dry Creek. By appointment only so call ahead.
The is our favorite winery to visit when we are in Sonoma County. Extraordinary wines. In fact, just had one at dinner in DC, an unusual chance at drinking an A. Rafanelli wine on the East Coast. Very rare. We have several bottles in the cellar for future drinking, but cant wait to get more!
Mark was great for our tasting. He told us the neat history of the vineyard and wasnt stingy with the juice! Lol. Dry Creek Valley is a great way to see wine country and out of the whole valley A. Rafanelli was our favorite. Weekdays are easy appointments and tasting was free!
Great winery. Ive been on their mailing list for nearly a decade - but I always love going up to see the winery, caves and staff. Their Zin is under-appreciated.
Incredible reds and beautiful setting, absolutely worth a visit!
Well worth a visit to a true family winery. If youre lucky enough to buy a bottle or two, youll do business with a family member in the barn. Terrace Select is a superior Cabernet and the regular Cabernet is excellent. The Zinfandel is the best Zin Ive been able to find, and Ive been drinking California Zins for more than 40 years. Ive been fortunate to be on the mailing list for many, many years. If Rafanelli were the only red wines Id be able to drink for the rest of my life, Id be more than satisfied.
Outstanding Zinfandels (plus Cabernets). Need reservation. Great family winery
Easy going winery. Simple selection of 3 wines to taste - all very good!
Well, let me just say if you want to enjoy an absolutely decadent Zin. The likes of which I would put up against any of the very best in the world. Including those from Turley and Antinori. This humble family winery is one you must not miss. With a wall full of Gold Metals for Cabs and Zins, and the warmest folks you will ever meet. You will remember your visit and seek out these wines with a passion whenever any of your wine friends mentions the Zin they could never forget, A. Rafineli.
The best in Sonoma County!
Pretty view at the back of the winery. Wine was nothing special though.
Awesome small winery
Simply perfect.
The Zin is so yummy!
Simply the best!
