I like the recently restored theatre. There didnt seem to be a bad line of sight from any of the seats. The production of Christmas on the Rocks was hilarious. Well be back for this annual event and others.

What a delightful venue! Not a bad seat in the house! And the one man play, Every Brilliant Thing was truly entertaining! The actor, Chad Jennings, was great! I am so glad I took the time to be there! I will definitely make time to fit TW into my schedule next time Im in Hartford!

I love this place even more after their remodel! The staff here are always friendly and they have great shows. There are seriously no bad seats in this venue. If youre looking for a fun night out seeing a show, definitely consider TheaterWorks. And every holiday season, their show Christmas on the Rocks is a must-see!

Amazing venue. Great time for a great cause. Celebrated World AIDS Day and all the successes and achievements our community has accomplished over the last 35+ years while honoring those we have lost. This venue was perfect and definitely recommended for any event they are hosting.

Nice atmosphere. Was there before a show and it was busy. Service was very slow but the waitstaff was exceptionally accommodating a friendly. We ordered appetizers but barely had a chance to try them due to having to get to the show on time...

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this years production of Christmas on the Rocks. We traveled from more than 40 miles out of town on a holiday weekend and would do it again in a heartbeat. The close proximity of the stage and actors to audience in this modestly sized venue creates a very intimate theater experience where I would dare say that every seat is a good seat.

The play was wonderful. I got to see the vert first performance and if there were any issues they went unnoticed. All the actors were terrific, but the elf/dentist was my favorite. The set was fantastic. It made you feel as if you were a regular patron of that bar, sitting at your favorite table and observing the action. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We come to Christmas of the Rocks every year. Theater renovation is amazing, love it. Good show this year, loved Isaac as the bartender. (Time to lose the Tiny Tim skit, but maybe its not annoying if you havent been in a few years.) We walked through Winter Fest ice skating to get there after dinner at the Republic, beautiful. Great Christmasy night in Hartford, love that its coming back. Keep it up Theater Works!

Came here on a whim after I got some free last minute tickets after much of the audience cancelled for a snow storm. The staff was fantastic and super welcoming! Somehow we got thanked for coming three times or more. The play and the cast of Georgia McBride couldnt have been funnier. We had no idea what to expect, but it was such a great time. The actors themselves were top-notch!

My students and I attended a free showing of This land is Our Land by Woody Guthrie. I was blown away by the musicianship of the performers - they each played several instruments and all but one (the actor playing Woody) played several characters as well, seamlessly. In addition, the process of bringing 60 students to the place was seamless, and every single person working there was jovial, pleasant and yet still business oriented. Highly recommended, Im coming back with family and friends!

I love seeing live theater. I recently attended my first performance at TheaterWorks. When I made it down the stairs and walked into the space I had a moment where I felt like I was in New York City and going to an off-off Broadway performance. As I looked around I felt some good theater vibes. I was in a space where I could see people who were just as passionate about the theater as me. The set design for Two Rivers is amazing.TheaterWorks has a dynamic lineup of plays written and directed by seasoned and upcoming theater professionals.I saw my first play and it wont be my last.

Its a delightful intimate way to enjoy a show. Christmas on the rocks is a must see every year. Go see everything. Be a member. You wont be disappointed.

Amazing venue for plays - very intimate setting- no bad seats. All of the staff is quite personable and friendly. Theater has convenient location with plenty of parking around theater, as well being close to many fine downtown Hartford restaurants. One caveat - is that you have to walk down a fairly long set of stairs to get to the theater itself. Most recent play offered - Midsummer - was terrific- very creative and clever- combining music, dialogue, with a great story line- reality including the pathos and humor of reality. The two actors in the play, Rebecca Hart, M.Scott McLean, under direction of Tracy Brigden, were very engaging -in tune with their characters as well as the audience, making the play more of a personal storytelling. The play was 97 minutes long which seems like a long time for only two actors considering the dancing, music, dialogue changes of characters held me enthralled by their skill. The original music by playwrights, David Grieg and Gordon McIntyre weaved though out the play and in context of story line.
