We spent a beautiful fall day here while resting in between jobs. The entrance is free. They have a nice little souvenir shop on the entrance building. The Zoo is nice and pleasant to walk through it. We enjoyed seeing the animals. It was clean and my daughter loved the chickens with “sweaters “. I enjoyed the lemurs and duck pond. It’s a nice little zoo, worth stopping at while driving through Great Bend. It took us about an hour to see the whole Zoo and my daughter played in the play area for another 30 minutes. Stop by and have a look.

This zoo is quaint and its nice for an hour-long walk with little kids. We got lucky and all the animals were out.. right around closing time!

My family and I enjoy driving down to Great Bend to enjoy the Brit Spaugh Zoo! The set up is original. The the different animals, as well as being able to learn while there, is a must! They even have a butterfly farm.Bring some bread to feed the Geese and Swans.... I would recommend this place HIGHLY!

Wonderful park, free admission, donations accepted, clean, and family friendly. Rather small but I expected that. My son and I had a blast

For being a small zoo it was wonderful. My fiance and I enjoyed it very much so. For a nice time I would recommend to anyone.

My home town zoo, I love it. I come back to see it whenever I can.

Free admission. Open everyday. Free Wi-Fi. Giant catfish, turtles and free roaming peacocks, swans, geese, ducks. Granny Smith apples next to the butterfly tent that I eat and throw to the bears in their enclosures. The BEST Xmas lights in December. I can hear the lion roaring 8-10 blocks away some days around dusk and dawn.

For being FREE it was rather surprisingly nice. Most of the animals were out, which included 3 Grizzly Bears, Lion and 2 Leopards...in the middle of Kansas!Feed to feed the ducks, geese & fish was $1It was perfect for my young kids to see animals...and I took about 1 hour to go through the zoo.Its next to a park with a large playground (and during summer a water park). Great place to spend a nice day outdoors.

Better than when I was younger. Didnt have a lot of time but the bear exhibit was cool. My family seemed to enjoy the place and had been taught alot in the Ed center

Its a nice zoo

For being a free zoo in a small town, this a fantastic zoo! They have a good variety of animal exhibits and some nice places for kids to play. There were quite a few exhibits that were under renovation when we were there so its hard to judge everything. At least that shows they are working to improve different things as they can.

Cool place to get the kids out and about

For a small town this is a great place especially to be free. Make sure you go back past the restrooms to the lepords we missed it cause we thought that was the end.Its not the Wichita zoo but they dont charge and have those resources. Good way to spend a couple of hours for cheap family time or a good lunch picnic spot if your passing through.

We went to a Birthday Party there at the community room. Also visited some of the animals including the Lemur, Black Panther, Jaguar, Bears, Butterflies, and Reptiles. The weather was good and we had a great time!

Small compared to other zoos, but good at what it does. It has animals you cant see at places like Kansas city zoo. Bears, bald eagle, arctic foxes, cougars, and others. I recommend to fans of zoos.

Kids loved it.. idk how anyone else feels about the geese. But... We were so scared of them. Literally was almost attacked my a swan for feeding the fish! Lol all in all was a good time.

We live in Colorado, and come to Great Bend to visit family. I have been to this zoo since I was a child and I really think that it just gets better.. Such a cute and quite place. Its free which is great, but all the animals seem very happily taken care of..

This zoo is pretty cute. Good for a little day trip and its free! They dont have a lot of animals, but its quaint and quiet.

For free really cant complain about the zoo its ok but nothing like wichita zoo but then again if it was then it wouldnt be free lol I do enjoy the great bend park dont get me wrong but the only thing that blows me away is the free price and not the animals

Ive been going to this zoo for as long as I can remember. Im always amazed by the continual improvements made, especially given it does not charge any admission. For a small town to even have a zoo is pretty neat. Having one that houses a large variety of animals, is kept clean, feels safe, and is always improving is a noteworthy accomplishment.

The “enclosures” are way too small for the animals, but besides that, the place was incredible, and you could tell that the people working there truly care about those animals.

Admission is free! It is small but has lots of animals. Its a great place for kids! There is even a play room.

Not much to see. Really not worth my time to get my kids out for the aftrnoon.

Its okay but if it was more wheelchair friendlier it would be great. My fiancee is wheelchair bound and some of the walk ways are hard to get down with a wheelchair. Other then that I like this zoo

My two boys love all the animals and feeding the birds. Wagon rental is only a dollar and the staff is supper nice?

Kind of on the small side as far as zoos go, but makes up for it by being in the park and located near the playground. Aide note: Zoo features an awesome Bald Eagle, as well as lots of geese, ducks, and turtles to feed! Check it out

Small town with a great zoo! Its free and very well maintained. Much easier trip with toddlers than going to a huge zoo.

For a small town the zoo is pretty nice. Some of the animals look a little under weight and they are doing some work to get more animals in so they are under construction right now but Id still give it 3

We arrived just before closing, but we still got to see most of it. Staff pointed us in the right direction so we could get the most with the time we had. it is a small Zoo but they are doing a great job.

For a small town, this is a great zoo. Love how they incorporate local wildlife in their raptor exhibit. My kids have always loved going.

Couldnt see all of the animals, but had a blast walking around seeing the many changes from our childhood zoo...and watching the three bears play in the water!

Need more attractions and animals. And some more structural fixes. For it being free zoo cant expect to much anyways. Just not enjoyable.

Feel bad for the animals. They are in cages. Especially the bigger animals. Like lions and tigers. They can barely move. Sad.
