Its a great, calm place to exercise my leashed, energetic canine. Theres a pond with geese thats a relaxing site to behold. A few pavilions to eat/converse under shade. A big, circular walking path that is ideal to meet (friendly) folks! Its clean and safe to be enjoyed. I often see families playing soccer or baseball there. That gives my soul a warm hug.

This park has a lot of great things: a nice pond, excellent play structure, shaded structures, and an open green grassy field. This is a beautiful park and great place to gather as a family.

Its a great park with lots of parts to it. One major drawback (for me, at least) is how HUGE it is. Its got two parking lots that dont connect to each other. So, before you go, make sure you know which end of the park youre headed to.

Great place for a walk and kick a ball around. The pond could use a good cleaning and trash lining the fences is none too charming. The playgrounds are decent but again more trash and the misuse and abuse of the equipment and picnic tables make for less than a wonderful visit. Hey park crew step it up and be proud of your jobs.

Great location and views of the Mesa and monument with a nice pond and lots of ducks. Be careful of the hole disguised by the grass on a hill near the baby swings and bike rack l. Anyone can fall or twist their ankle and then their goes your walk or your playtime with your kiddo.

This park is amazing. It was donated to the County by Veterinarian Long (who lived in the house that now houses the MCS office). You see, Dr. Long, although as far as I know had no kids, loved them nonetheless. There was a stipulation with his donation to the county, and that was that it be used for a purpose dedicated to children (I know he must’ve loved kids). I am SO BLESSED that I live so close and am able to walk here most every morning since retiring from the Law Firm of Elder & Phillips PC. and pray for the kids that go to school at both GMMS (where my sister taught and my kids attended) and CHS (where many of my friends worked - from principal to teacher to secretary - and I LOVE “Stan” Scott who taught my daughter music and directed Sounds and both kids attended this school). I started praying for these schools at the beginning of the school year very specifically (you see I hadn’t prayed so specifically since my Moms in Touch days when my kids attended there). But boy did I know these schools and teachers needed prayer. So I enlisted a bunch of my family to pray...since prayer is what moves the hand of God. Those prayers started in motion an eye opening experience for me. I am endeared to those schools, especially CHS, like never b4. You see, I’m a cat, (actually a Delta Panther, but there are no panther Imogees why is that??). Cats are in the business of catching rats, of which I have trapped a few, but have MANY more to trap. You see, Satan, the enemy of our souls, had planned to take over the world using the highest echelons of our society. He even knew something we didn’t. A secret hidden for about 4000 years... (Longs Park is actually where Noah’s Ark was built). Now I would like to endorse a NEW HOLIDAY and name it Veterinarian’s Day, one day b4 we celebrate Veteran’s Day, in honor of the awesome veterinarians past, present and future. I have a famous vet relative (Doc Utterback) current friend (Canone) and future vet friend i recently met while walking around the park. GOD IS SO GOOD!! Jesus is coming back REAL soon so ya gotta get RIGHT or get left!!!! The part about Longs Park being where the original ark was built is just a theory, but it is possible. Anything is possible with God.

It is a long park lol. I liked the variety of playgrounds and the pond was nice. The high school was having some sort of marching band practice while we were there so that was fun to watch but it was tricky to keep track of my kids when they ran off in different directions because of how big this park is. We had a nice time overall.
