Varieties of trails. Markers could be laid out someone better for the trail locations. I went there this fall November of 2020 and due to the storms this summer a lot of the floating decking was destroyed so you could not cross the marsh and Hike the trails throughout the woods. It made the area Limited to explore. Very Scenic, they do have a lookout Observatory deck, house blind... There is a small playground for children and there is restrooms. They were locked at the time I was there. Overall not too crowded have a nice scenery and not that far off the beaten path from Downtown Grand Haven

Beautiful place with easy parking and bathroom access, the boardwalks are flooded but Im sure that will be repaired soon. The graffiti really breaks my heart on all of the beautiful beech trees..and trails...and boardwalk...and look out tower, and fallen logs.

Beautiful area to hike! Colors are beginning to change on the trees! Clean. Pet friendly. Little playground at one end. Also a sweet little restroom area and pavilion. Such a great area. Nicest residents also. They have a floating bridge you can walk on. Its even handicapped accessible! Which is rare to find for a hiking trail! Love it!

Nice trails, great place to bird watch. There is a short paved section but most of the trails are dirt so you will want a mountain bike if you are riding. Not too sandy.

Hofma Preserve and the park offer plenty of natural beauty and amenities. Lots of trails for exploring year round! Be aware that parking in the winter season is rather limited at the south park entrance off Ferris (only a few spaces) so consider the north access off Sleeper St.

Gorgeous and well manicured trails. I like to run sprint intervals here. The board walk is my favorite especially around fall time when the leaves begin to change colors. There are really no hills or slopes here. What a beautiful splendor. Watch for widow-makers!

This preserve looks beautiful, and Ill definitely be back. The reason for 4 stars is that the bridge connecting the trailhead to most of the park is under water right now, so youd have to go and park at Hofma Park instead to reach the majority of the trails.

My go-to park. With a recent addition of an old tree farm. You can spend a solid day walking and enjoying and simple stroll through woods of many different types. An awesome place to try and get lost. The floating bridge is one of a kind and is accessible year round. The new bike path is an awesome addition as well. Public restrooms, pavilion with picnic tables and grills, and playground are available free of charge. Not sure about reservation. But awesome trails.

Beautiful park! Great place to take a hike, play soccer or just let the kids play! Trails and park are well maintained. Beautiful water bridge that allows for great bird watching and connects the two entrances to the park. If you like to be outside and checking out nature then you should take a stroll through Hofma Preserve!

Great place for an afternoon family hike. Playgrounds at the trailheads on either side of the preserve. Floating bridge area gives you a chance to view nesting swans and many other species of birds. If youre a plant geek, try to identify as many plant species as you can. This place is a real gem in Grand Haven Township. The only bad thing is the vulgar profanity carved into and written on the observation tower back by the floating bridge.

Hofma preserve is smaller park on the outskirts of the city of Grand Haven and is abundant with wildlife and many trails to explore and venture apon. A lot of fun to just hike or even ride a bicycle down the hills. Recommend hiking with a friend because it can be easy to get lost!

The trails themselves were great. However, trying to find this place using GPS is impossible for people not from the area. Just a warning. The maps in the trails that are supposed to help you find your way are are bleached out by the sun so make sure you remember where you came from going in.
