***1.)MY CAR GOT BROKEN INTO! Including two other cars, we were gone for about 3 hours. If youre going to park your car, park near the building next to the parking lot, cause they have cameras..***2.) Its all uphill trying to get to the springs. Its beautiful and worth it. One of the springs your whole foot will sink into the mud, but its a gorgeous place Im planning on coming back and it really is warm.

Except for Parks and Rec staff who ticketed us in spite of the fact that we paid the fee as required! Parks staff need people skills!

Really fun trail to hike to the peak, it can feel steep in places but it’s not technical. There’s no water on the route, so travel prepared. We went on a Wednesday and only saw one other hiker, it was really peaceful and remote.

Make sure to come prepared! The peak is a pretty intense hike, especially if you go up the direction the hot spring is at. Id recommend going to the right when the path breaks off (towards tunnel view) and take the trail straight up to the peak! Once youre coming down close to the bottom where the shade and trees start, there is a trail that has no signs which leads to the hot springs if you want to take a soak once youre pretty much done.lol So all together though, bring water, snacks, comfy/durable shoes and anticipate being in the sun the whole time. The hike is BEAUTIFUL and totally worth it after the first trial error. Lol be safe and enjoy. Theres a notebook in the bucket you can sign at the peak too!

The hike was accurately described as dry and in the sun. We made it to the first hot spring and was over the hike to the top.

Two small hot springs. Smells of sulfur. Not really a good natural spring to soak in, too small and too shallow.

Not bad for a primitive hot spring. 30 miles north of Santa Barbara. $2 to park. Close to fwy. Short uphill hike to the pools. Went on a weekday and there were a few different people coming by, soaking (naked) but not creepy. We soaked alone for almost 2 hours since the temperature is luke warm, shallow and smells of Sulphur. Peaceful and quiet if there’s nobody around. Would go again, but not on a weekend, I would imagine it being quite busy.

Solid 6 mile roundtrip trek. Mountain views all the way up..then you reach the finish line at the top and the views are Stunning!

If you are going to hike 3 miles straight uphill, the view from the top should be pretty nice, and it is. I got a wonderful view of the valley and the ocean on a clear morning from the peak as well as beautiful wildflowers on the small single track to the peak.Still, its a straight hike up a fire road.

This was a really fun experience. A straight up and down hill climb, till you reach the springs. There are 2 pools of warm sulfur springs. They are not big enough to jump in, but they are deep enough to sit down in and have your shoulders covered. Dont forget to take off your silver jewelry....

DONT FORGET TO PAY THE PARKING FEE. Great hike, fun and beautiful for a short hike or a swim in the hot springs. But if you dont remember to pay your parking permit you will most likely get a ticket like we did once. Just pay the $2 and youll have a great day in nature :)

A great little hot spring up a short, but all up hill hike. There are two pools close by each other. The upper is clear and nice, not too hot. The hike map Google gave me only took us part way there, then we had to pick a trail and find it ourselves. A beautiful place.

Parking is $2, if I remember correctly. The hot springs are more like warm springs, but I was fine with that. The hike to Gaviota Peak from here wasnt bad at all. Just bear right when you get to the point where you have a direct view (keeping your eyes pointed on trail) of the ocean.

$2 parking or free parking if you walk a little. 1 mile walk to the springs. Longer hike if youd like. Springs are enough to dip your feet in for fun. Quite scenic and covered w trees once you get to the springs. Good for a short scenic hike.

Easy hike up the the hot spring, bath-water warm spring, a bit shallow but was enough for 6 people to submerge ourselves completely and a little kid to swim around. Brackish shade to water, sulfur smell was not offputting, a little slimy at the bottom - overall worth it! Would do it again.
