Our Family kayaking Rowlett Creek river adventure was fun, as always. We enjoy greeting the groups of fishermen, the natural flora, observing the animals and fish occasionally jumping out and splashing at the waters surface. We laugh and sing at times, yet also enjoy the peaceful symphony of nature. The creek/river needs a bit of rubbish removal though, moreso on the north of Miller than south side. Interestingly enough though, either dragonflies lead our party or the crane. The crane will stop every 200 ft or so and wait for us, then fly ahead and wait again, as if escorting us safely to the lake or back to the Miller bridge, unharmed from potential danger from copperheads and black wasps. Thanks Crane! We named the crane Stuart (as in steward). Good on ya mate!
Very easy to access, people need to be more clean, garbage everywhere. And there is bluegill and catfish, just need luck
This can be a nice place but theres so much trash in the area. We picked up a lot of trash but its the people that make it good.Otherwise, its a good place to go fishing. You can be under the bridge or under the cover of the trees.Theres about 15 parking spots and there are no restrooms. Easily accessible on the east bound lane of Miller Rd. There is a dedicated left turn lane on the west bound lane of Miller. There is also a sign that reads Woodlands Basin Nature Preserve.
Beautiful view of the river and the trees and at night I can see the UFOs in the sky, last week I saw a line of 16 UFOs one behind the other, nobody will believe it, but I saw it
Needs to be cleaned up and needs an easy way to access the water.
I really wish people picked up their trash and used the trash cans in the parking lot. There was trash, fishing line, hooks ect. Along the whole trail. We picked a spot and cleaned up the area we were in before we set up stuff the fish and we filled a whole trash bag and a half just from that small area. Its really sad.
There was garbage everywhere. We made it about a mile into the trail then turned around because of the amount of trash everywhere. Pretty sad to see because there is potential for this to be a nice trail.
Its really Easy to get and fish... few brews and ya good!
The river was beautiful and smooth. It was easy for my inexperienced paddlers to navigate and gave them plenty to see along the way. It was a pretty muddy trek to get the boats down to the water. I wish there was an established put-in.
My family and i love being outdoors! But there is just a ridiculous amount of garbage in and out of water that just kills it. Good fishing i heard from several people on trail...but again trash!
It’s a good place for bank fishing. Albeit a bit dirty and not well maintained. There’s no bathrooms and very limited trash cans. I’m sure it could be a great location if it was better maintained.
Beautiful place to go and think and enjoy nature. My daughter and I love it!
Looks like a good place for bank fishing as the trails go back a good distance. Also good for kayak and canoe launching. There are no services here.
I fish here but it seems to be eroding at an alarming rate.
Great place for fishing, walking and exploring the cultural of the wilderness.
Trashed out, but quiet and you cant hear the roads when you hike out to the back of the trail. Giving a 3 star because there isnt much in the area and its nice to have somewhere to get outside, but it definitely needs a major clean up from all the trash everywhere.
Nice and supported great place to fish when you want to get out and be by yourself
Good place to walk, fishing isnt as good as i thought but there is fish just probably wasnt a good day
Good place to fish but not a lot of bites
Caught crappie, sand bass, and catfish here.
Great place for White Bass in the spring
Dirty and trashed
Amazing must go
