Paved trail is good and convenient for family with infent or toddlers. Its a nice oasis in the middle of the city. Trail passes through creek ans has some area to relax close to water. Would recommend it for sure.

One of the better hiking parks Ive been to. Theres plenty of small trails, large paved trails and the creek to check out.We joined their volunteer group to help do some cleanup which happens pretty regularly on the weekends.

Pretty scenery, though not a huge area on the North side. The South side is a bit longer of a trail. Trail is slightly overgrown in some spots, and there are felled trees in many places throughout. The creek is pretty to look out, but be careful as there is a 20 foot sheer drop in some spots. Other than that, not much elevation change, it was quite flat. Tree cover provided lots of shade. Highway noise is quite loud and distracting, since its adjacent to PGBT. As some others have noted, there is an abundance of litter (I even found an entire shopping cart in the creek). If I were to compare it to, say, Barton Creek in Austin near Twin Falls or near the municipal pool, I would say this area doesnt hold a candle. Though it may be one of the best walking trails in the DFW metro area, all things considered.

Spring Creek is a great place for family events or just getting away from the city feel. I back up to this greenbelt and am amazed the wildlife I see in my back yard. I have seen coyotes, bobcats, armadillos, racoons, owls and many other bird species. If in the wooded areas be aware there are snakes, you will only get bit if you step on the snake.

There was a lot of trash where there should have been scenic views. The trail itself is getting overgrown and at times it was hard to discern where the path lay. Needs a clearer path or signs at least to ensure you are on the right track.

Wonderful natural preserve ! Beautiful creek + lot of wild flowers. You can hear singing, and the sound of water.. very relaxing. Escape from the stressful city life and emerge yourself with nature !One minus point is there is some trash that need to be cleaned up along the creek. If the city host some clean up event, I would be the first one who volunteer ! Overall, Highly recommended !

Unfortunately, I was not happy to see how poorly the trails are kept. No clear markers, lots of over growth and some parts of the creek are really trashed. Please do not litter and teach your kids not to. This place can be a lot more beautiful if it were cleaner and if the trails were kept more clear. I gave it 3 stars because location is great and they have gorgeous fields of wild flowers (Spring). If you want a very short and easy hike this is a good place.

Cool trails in the woods. This is my go to for a quick hike with the kids. You can get close to the water in sections and skip rocks which is fun with the kids. They also have a concrete path that extends out to a small lake. The loop is pretty nice and usually isnt that crowded.

Its nice but I dont believe it actually meets criteria that define a forest. its good to preserve our wildlife. hopefully we havent removed too many trees and brush that our animals and insects cant live. Ive never understood the need humans have to be packed into every little space that it becomes necessary to remove everything natural. anyone who believes that humans will destroy the planet not thinking clearly. the planet will remove humans if need be to preserve itself.

Nice, unpaved trail on the south side. I recommend the trail on the south side as it is longer; although, the north side is accessible to the creek. We spotted a hawk, coyote, and turtles on our walk. Not too long of a trail but it’s nice and safe. Nice photo opportunities.

Beauitful place. Terrible how much trash is everywhere. Sad that theres so few nature preserves left in the area; the few we keep are hardly cared for or appreciated. Little by little we are losing nature to our selfish and mindless ways. Thank you for this small piece of heaven. Its a reminder of what peace and beauty really is.

Had a great time taking a walk with my family. I believe there is more than one trail, we took the Northern Trail. Great for families of all ages, I took my 1.5 and 2.5 year old, they were able to walk most of it with no help. Just the right length to the end and back, by the last 20 mins their feet were dragging lol. We saw Cardinals, Butterflies, tiny garden snakes, squirrels, and turtles in the creek.

This is a lovely flat, forest trail that follows a creek to a bench nestled in the shade beneath the trees, then returns through more forest, opening into a sunny meadow that is filled with wildflowers in the spring. On our last trip, the recent rains had brought down several trees across the creek, making them a trap for litter floating downstream. Also several trees were down over the trail, and we had to clamber over, or make our way around some of them. Beware, this is snake habitat, and we have seen several on our visits here, including copperheads.

I love it, I came early in the morning before it got to hot. There weren’t many people here. It was very peaceful. It took my about 30 minutes to walk the whole trail so it’s not a long trail case someone was wondering. I would recommend going onto the website to download the markers, it gives you a little onsite on the scenery. Plus you get cool little rod bits of information. I enjoyed it a lot.

I have visited this pace since I was a kid in the 1970s and have enjoyed rediscovering it so many years later with my 8 year old daughter. Beautiful Old Growth trees with a large ctrl and trails. Thank goodness they preserved this area before it could have been bulldozed forever....Highly recommend visiting the gorgeous trees that I have personally known for 40 years!

I hike here frequently. The thing to bear in mind is the uniqueness of the Forest. This is a RARE hardwood oak forest. There are Chinqapin, Red and Bur Oak,some hundreds of years old.The creek is spring fed and very clear. Yes, there is trash in the creek, So bring a bag and pick some up! The trails are not super well marked, but thats part of the charm. Its natural. If you care to explore theres a lot to see, including native prairie.
