This place is really nice. Just a quick little walk around the basin is a good way to stretch the legs. The tables have pretty good lighting late at night, which is always a plus. The trail has perfectly dimmed lights, just enough so you can see without being blinded.

Revised review here: This park is generally very quiet and quaint. It offers a quick one mile loop..more or less, in a circular run walk or jog setup. There are intermittent exercise positions along the way. The community here is polite. However, there is a homeless community here. Or vagrant. They usually occupy the last tables at the picnic area. Area rangers and locally police do stop by and the area seems safe. From 6am to 11pm. But visit around 9 to 6. You should be fine. Ample parking playground for the kids, people walk there dogs, the elderly are enjoying there walks and lots of space to just wander.

Not really that much here to see. One walking/running path around water reservoir which is completely fenced of and inaccessible. Couple of seating areas with a barbecue grills which may be good for groups.

Nice path around the basin with fitness equipment and decent scenery. Large grass areas with some tres and shade, tables around the perimeter of the grass and a play area for kids. Bathrooms are closed but there are portables in place.

Very nice bike trail around the top of the basin. They have really cleaned it up . It used to be called Twin lakes park when I was younger. I grew up in the area. Very clean now.

They should leave open the gates saturdays on the morning 4 athlets speccially in covid current situation cuse gyms r all closedAnd maybe change the cheap restrooms

Tbh im only there for the Taco Trucks but its good to have a run or walk around as well. Great way to digest your food and then eat another taco or head home or do something else. Also Bicycle accessible too.

Its a good park the only problem is that there are a few outhouses instead of bathrooms and I dont think they get serviced very often because they stink bad

The walk around the man made lake is about 1 mile, I suggest going during daylight hours only. Dog friendly

Nice mile track around the park and kids playground. Food trucks out on Friday and Saturday late afternoon. Our two children like the playground and our 7 month old Labrador loves the track around the park. Kind of dicey in some areas so just make sure you keep alert if you are on late evening or early morning runs.

Good place to go with the children and have a picnic. There is a water basin for storage of recycling water, plus trees for shade. Possibly you can fish there, but not really sure seems like fish would be stocked in water reservoir.

Love this park. Always take a wonderful jog and enjoy the view. I am able to run without people in my way. Wonderful little children on their bicycles riding them around. Nice playground for my kids to play. I love the small stations you can stop and do some exercises. Increadable soccer field for my son the practice soccer. The barbeque area is also a good place. I had went to party that was held there and wonderful views and so much space. I was hoping I can throw a party there.

Its an okay park, with a big, wife open field, some workout gear, and a bike path. Bathrooms were closed, though, and only porta potties were available for using the restroom. Patrons seemed to be a mix of nice people enjoying their families, and homeless people. Shouldnt be a problem, but keep your eyes open.

Tons of tables. About a 15 minute walk around the basin going at a decent pace.

Cool place to meet friends...and hangout, and if you dont want to go to the gym, you can do cardio on the parks greatly done pathway and around the park workout stations.

Beautiful park with potential but unsafe. The surrounding neighborhoods are sketchy at best. Park offers little to no shade. Trash cans were overflowing and sitting benches were quite dirty. Im sure in the past it was well kept but now it is just another dirty rundown park crawling with transients(Homeless). I personally would rather drive my children 25 minutes to a clean park in Irvine CA instead of taking them here. I dont recommend it.

We actually love coming here, its very nice to the eye. Theres always people here: joggers, kids..etc. Yes, there is homeless and some other folk but they dont usually bother (just keep an eye open if this is a concern to you)

Lot of homeless just smoking in front to the Children and the bathrooms are just locked and you Havre to use portapottys on top of that there are graffiti everywhere

In a part of Orange County where green spaces are limited here is a little slice of peace. Portable toilets present but not well maintained. A lovely loop to walk or run.

Great park, its a great place for kids and adults to have fun. When you want to reserve a spot for a party, just make sure you arrive early to save it.

Been coming to this park for years. Formerly known as twin lakes its changed in recent years because now it is the Haster Water Basin. Still a really nice place to walk around if youre looking for a place to walk your fur baby. Good place to walk off dinner, get in extra steps or ride your bike. Small playground for kids. Work out stations are along the path around the park. Benches and grills avail for a bbq. Good place for kids bdays or picnics. Small restrooms I believe are one at a time restrooms. Close to 22 fwy and just down the street from the back entrance of The Outlets at Orange.

It just needs to be cleaned more and keep it more safe for kids to be able to play freely.

The childrens playground needs to be kept clean and free of glass, cigarettes and other harmful items. This playground needs an upgrade. The sand should be removed.

Its a beautiful park and reservoir. I grew up behind this place back in the 80 s . Its been re done in the last few years! Seems safer for all, including the wildlife! Well liked and well used by the surrounding community! All the locals know and use this recreation area. Rest rooms, kids playground, picnic area, walking trails and nature hikes as well as some workout stations along the path! Great place to spend an afternoon with your kids and your dog(on a leash of coarse) Its a must see if you by some chance have not gone by too see for yourself! Please dont litter! I noticed people are complaining about the redesign of this park/ reservoir! It was to keep all things and people more safe! Animals were being tortured and killed by????? People! The water is totally not safe to swim in, recreating in or even let your dog in it! Its untreated sewer water and rain run off,(when it actually rains here) The new set up is better and safer for all! Cant please all the people all the time! Peace

I dont like the way it was redesigned, its good only for people that wants to run the track or have a soccer game, not too many seating for parties. Very bad idea for little kids because all around there us a downhill if a child trips and fall very easily can roll down these hills and get serious injuries do to the sprinkler pipping sticking out of the ground at least few inches. It is really hard to control a running toddler or child who wants to play at the same time rather than having a relaxing walk its more stressful fearing for your child might fall and injure them selves, we liked this park before it was easy to feed the ducks now its impossible to do so. Hate the new design they could of done much better!

First things first, i got there morning time and it was awesome. Earthy essence, open road with company or at times you find yourself on your own. It includes a Sand trail and an asphalt road. Every 1/4 or so of a mile theres stretching pit with some sort of workout mechanism. Also got to share some smiles and waves, i totally recommend.

Nice recently updated part lots of birds for the dog to chase a great walking path some nice water features and exercise Trail on the whole a decent place to go not enough parking and the parking is often overtaken by nearby apartment complexes and trailer parks which dont have sufficient parking for their own uses so get there early to get good parking

It was a good place to take my 2 dogs on a walk although there were some homeless and cholos that make the area kind of less safe for lids and also if there was no homless people the park would be grate

I love coming here for walks and jogs. Theres a lake so it makes for nice little nature walks. Occasionally youll see geese with their little babies. They are cute but the parents are very protective.

Very nice area for exercising outdoors, having a picnic, or a birthday party. In the early morning hours, there are homeless people who sleep in the park near the restrooms. Ive heard that the restrooms arent very clean, but honestly I havent checked them out. Theres not a whole lot to be expected from public restrooms in parks.

Recently improved with all new landscaping. A large grass area has plenty of room for soccer and other sports. A new picnic area with bar-b-ques for outdoor grilling. Families can enjoy a nice walk around the new lake. With all the new improvements, Hester Basin is a nice place a walk or for your outdoor exercise needs.
