Nice place for family outing & photos

Well, as a kid... this was an excess rain drainage sump, over 50 down below ground level, fed by the local sewer pipes, we used to explore the concrete tunnels, ice skate on it in the winter, snow sled down the banks, etc. They must have land-filled that then and created this park? Nice idea, great for the locals who stayed in the neighborhood. I grew up on Hawthorne across the street. Are those blue flowers nightshade?

Very dangerous place

Not much to see. Went during the summer and just got bit by a lot of mosquitoes.

This sanctuary needs an overhaul but its run by volunteers so they need help in the form of donations and elbow grease.

Nice for an afternoon walk.

This is amazingly beautiful park... sounds of peaceful, happiness and bunch of bird... you are in the middle of the city but you feel that you in the heaven

Didnt see any birds but the trails were nice
