Love this little zoo. Prices are reasonable and its outside the hustle and bustle of the big city zoos. Animals were very interactive and appeared very well loved. Huge park outside is a plus. Wish they could still run the train.

Kids loved it. I liked that it only had two ways to enter and leave. Better if it was just one.

The kids and I have been there twice. The first time was with my daughters class after a field trip to Frank Buck Zoo (amazing place! But that is a different review) the second time was last week. Both visits were great! The equipment is well maintained and clean. There are restrooms near by and plenty parking. Even I enjoyed the larger equipment. We will definitely be back!

This park is beautiful and serene. Lots of trees and a wonderful playground for the children. It also has a zoo. There are 2 pavilions that can be rented for family gatherings and such. A train that runs around the park and a pool to swim in, open from Memorial day to Labor day. There is also softball fields next to it that the area teams play on it every year. I have been going to this park for 46 years. Our family has had family reunions, birthday parties, and even a Mothers day celebration there. My children and grandchildren have enjoyed the playground and zoo for many years. Since Covid 19, we bring a lunch and eat at the picnic tables just to get away from the house for a while. There is always other people there doing the same thing. I am so glad that we have this park, it has so many happy memories for our family. I gives a feeling of comfort and peace to me.

Even though I cant fit down the slide or crawl up the steps like I did when I was little, I will always remember having fun here. While I can still swing or just barely fit on the monkey bars, its definitely a nice place to hang out at!p.s, itll all be a memory Ill never forget.

Kids love this park. Has a kid train that drives around it. Also has an awesome swimming pool next to it as well as frank buck zoo. My kids loved feeding their giraffes

The play area is amazing and offers something for all ages. The park is very well maintained but depending on where you are in the park, the bathroom may be a trek to get to.

Leonard Park is very nice. Its quite and very shaded. There is a playground, train, pavilion, tables with grills. There is another play set around the corner for very small children. There is a pool, baseball/softball fields and a zoo in the same area. Everything is great and definitely 5 star quality. The reason for 4 stars is that there is a lot more potential. The area is large and has room for another play set or two. You could even have a sand volleyball court or basketball court. This is still a great way to spend a day with the family.

We had great fun with family! I like how beautiful the area is, and how clean it is kept.

Huge, clean, well cared for park with lots of benches and trash receptacles. Theres a picnic table Pavillion on two sides and its surrounded by open acreage to play group games.

The zoo at this park is so wonderful at the tiny little the with so many cute animals lots and lots of friendliness lots and lots of headache and I love the giraffes

I wish they would have had more adult t-shirts available to choose from another Money Maker could have been small propagated plants from their place I would have made several purchases all in all a gorgeous Park well worth the small price

Ive been going to this park for about 20 years! My children absolutely loved going there when they were little. The giant sized fort with all the bridges and slides is amazing. You can always go there and just have a picnic. Theres the zoo, a pool and a train that goes around the park. Theres no way you could go there and not have fun. They have picnic tables, a large Pavilion and restrooms.

Went for a bike run and we stopped here, we went inside and made videos . Noone bothered us, the staff was friendly. Want to make videos of animals this is a good place to do it . Did not bother any of the staff that we were making videos . I intend going again and making more videos . We done some live feed videos . Thanks to the staff for making my videos good . They smiled and interacted friendly the animals looked healthy and taken care of . The grounds look well maintained.

This is my Familys favorite park. Its always well kept and the surrounding area is beautiful. There are tons of things for the kids to do and play on which is great. They have a section for the littler ones which I always appreciate. Each kid has something they can enjoy! I definitely recommend a visit here if you havent already!

Fun, old style park!!

Its a wonderful park. My only concern is the lack of maintenance only because i found pieces of wood missing exposing nails and a slide that is broken at the end. Other than the very few hazards its great for kids.

Enormous playground - kids wont get bored :) good luck getting them to stop playing when its time to leave though!

Went to pool not the zoo. Had to leave early because of lightning. We only spent 1 hour there, the price is kind of high for one hour of swimming.

Our family always has a great time. I do find myself picking up a lot of litter. I would like to see better litter prevention.

Kool little park tucked away just off of 35. It has a train ride for the kids and a zoo as well. Rather neat little place. With almost every thing one would hope for in a well maintained municipal park.

This is one of the best wooden kid forts in Texas! Its super easy access from I-35 or FM 51and to be precise, they always wanna come but they never want to leave ;)) there is plenty of shade all around the play area and, of course, the zoo is right across the way!

Beautiful, clean, well maintained park. Everyone at the zoo and park were very friendly and helpful. We had a picnic lunch here after touring the zoo and the squirrels would eat fries out of our hand. Very cool.

The best thing I can say is that the kids live it and the parents can either participate or sit and watch.

Very spacious park with beautiful old pecan trees everywhere. If you are on the cheap there is a great play area for the kids that most adults can enjoy if so inclined. Connected to the park is the Gainesville pool and Frank Buck Zoo. There is also a seasonal train that runs around the park the kids love.

My wife and I visited Gainesville, TX when went to Winstar Casino to see Jeff Dunham. This is a very beautiful & well kept park. Plenty of playground equipment for the kids, shelters, picnic tables, & grills for a wonderful family outing. The Frank Buck Zoo is also there. A very lovely & serene Creek runs next to the park. The city of Gainesville did a great job with this park; Im sure you would agree!!

I love this zoo brings back childhood memories. My mother would take us there when we were kids. Well maintained and setting in a beautiful park. And there is a swimming pool in the park, we lived in that pool during the hot summers.

Best park Ive taken my kids to. So many play areas, they didnt want to leave. We finally got them to sit down to enjoy a picnic lunch, where the squirrels were keeping a close eye on us. Be sure to watch your food closely, or they could grab it.

Nice little park. They have grills and covered picnic areas. They have no public restrooms there, there are some in the zoo but not around the playground. The playground itself is very nice. My kids love going there and spending as much time as possible there. There is a drinking fountain so you can get hydrated but no place to potty.

Leonard Park is always a great place to go whether you are looking to spend some quality family time, host a birthday party, or just enjoy a quiet place to eat a quick lunch. You might even enjoy a ride on the little train that takes you on a tour around the perimeter of the park. Its a family favorite!

I loved how this Zoo has come a long way from were it used to be. I so miss the chippanzies other words the monkeys and the elephants. Just loved all the beautiful flowers,the Turtles,feeding the goats they so love being scratched around there little head.And then when you get done there you can ride the train and play in the park making a full fun day out of it all.

We celebrate a birthday there ever year. There are lots of shade trees and lots of wide open grassy areas to play. Nice playground and more

It is free and beautiful. Only real concern is the broken/ chipped slides and open nails from lack of maintenance to the wood work.

Hidden gem in Gainesville (with a zoo)!

Great place to stretch your legs and a safe and fun place for kids. Lovely little zoo too..with giraffe viewing platform.

The playground is wonderful. Lots of variety with the climbing equipment. Tbey have a sand pit as well as a designated area for smaller kids. There is a covered pavilion as well as plenty of picnic tables to have lunch. Only draw back on this visit was all the recent rain created lots of large puddles that were tempting to the kids. Will definitely return though. The train is a fun ride too!

Awesome to see the animals. But I am a firm believer that the animals need to be in their own environment. Running wild and free. Or flying and free. Not locked up.

Wonderful visitGreat family fun

Clean and the kids had SO much fun. My three kids are still small and it was a little hard keeping an eye on all of them bc its so large and there are 2 entry/exits and a lot of people. But other than that, i would definitely go back!

This park is so magical and special! It’s well covered with shade from trees, has over 7 slides, a toddler area, zoo, water park, baseball fields and a cute train that is $2 a person for 3 yrs and older. There are also tons of park tables and covered pavilions for a picnic. We do not live locally but anytime we are in the area this will be a pit stop for sure. Loved it!!!
