I love visiting gardens that other people care for :) Fullerton Arboretum is not as big as its nearby neighbor, the Huntington or the LA County Arboretum. But, it has an old California feel to me. The oaks remind me of when I was younger in the San Gabriel Valley and ran and played in open space under those beautiful trees. Many of the walks here are shaded. It also feels quieter than the Huntington. If you are looking for a nice walk for a few hours, this is a beautiful place to do it.

Absolutely Awesome. Came here with the kids on a Saturday and it was perfect. Place is so big that you don’t come across other people a lot. They have a duck at one of the ponds that will come right up to you and eat from your hands. They have turtles and A LOT of plants (of course). I really recommend the Heritage House tour which go from 2-4 on Saturdays. While in there we completely forgot we were in the middle of a city. Great way to connect back with nature for a bit and get away from cell phone for a while. Definitely coming back here.

Fullerton Arboretum is a peaceful place to go walking, in the city. Great place to get ideas for drought tolerant plants, especially native to the area. Plants are marked well, so you generally know what youre looking at. I bought a 1 gallon California Sagebrush for a good price. On Jan 12, 2020, the stream pump was inoperable (but the ponds do have water), so be kind and leave a donation on your visit so they can get it repaired.

This Arboretum is so special! It’s such a beautiful mix of landscapes nestled in between Cal State Fullerton and the 57 freeway. Dorm rooms and road surround it as well but this gem brings so much natural life to the city! I’ve been visiting the arboretum for around 16 years now and I still enjoy all it offers. I had a garden plot there for 2.5 years, I just loved being able to grow my own veggies and herbs and I was also was blessed in meeting my garden neighbor who is now one of my dearest friends. We like to return from time to time to reminisce of our gardening days at the plots. The arboretum has been very special to me and so many other people, I hope it stays put for a very long time, it would be such a huge loss to the community if it were to be taken away in any manner. It’s beautiful and perfect just the way it is.Please go visit the Fullerton Arboretum and if possible, contribute a dollar or five or more to help keep the Arboretum up and running, they offer some really neat events and their tangerines they sell at the visiting center are so sweet and delicious. The staff there are really nice people as well!!!

Spring is in full bloom in gardens and fields across our state and we decided it was time to visit the Fullerton Arboretum which adjoins CSUF. There was color and signs of fresh life almost everywhere you looked. We enjoyed our time at this oasis where you forgot about the city and freeways laying just outside the borders. The staff worker was extremely friendly and helped us plan our walk.

Peaceful, diverse, lush and firmly established collections of rare and unusual plants from around the world, offering a variety of excellent classes and programs for children and adults, several big plant sales, as well as a small plant shop with a selection of succulents/cacti and flowering California natives at decent prices. Its the best thing in Fullerton, hands down. (For the record, the worst thing in Fullerton is hands up)Id give it more stars if theyd only let me! Love this place to death. Neat assortment of agave and aloe plants for sale lately, if theres any collectors out there

The arboretum is one of those places that I didnt really know what it would be like but since it is FREE to visit . . . why not?Parking is all free, a dirt lot with shade. You can make a donation to the arboretum. A small shack is at the entrance and you can get a map and other information from whoever may be sitting in there. It is definitely worth taking the time to see if you like nature and hikes. There are different zones with plants from the region such as: tropical, desert, woodlands, Mediterranean, etc. A little nature building has snacks for sale, information on the plants and common animals seen in the area, and various little things to look at.I visited in the summer and it was pretty hot and sunny so check the weather report and dont forget to bring water and sunscreen. There is some shade but quite a lot is in full sunlight. The property is quite large so I would say give yourself at least an hour but probably a bit more if you want to walk all the paths. It is very easy walking for children, use a jogger or wide wheeled wagon if you bring something for kids to sit in.I would also suggest bringing snacks since theres lots of nice places to rest.

This is a smaller Arboretum, but its one of my favorite ones. I actually like it better than Los Angeles Arboretum. The entrance is free, they only ask for donations. Our 1st time visiting today and we were impressed with the abundance of learning opportunities to be had here! Parking was free and available. And while there were several groups touring, it was not a crowded place... which made it enjoyable.Unfortunately, our experience wasnt 5 ☆s because of the choice of tone and phrasing by a staff member towards me to remove my children from where the staff member was trying to conduct a tour. This left a bad taste in my mouth as it was unnecessary, uncalled for, and outright rude .However, we will definitely be returning to take advantage of the many learning experiences to be had!
