Read Park is great! there’s a skate park, a big open area, the pool, a play ground, the ball diamonds, and a rental shelter for grad parties or birthdays. it’s very well kept and a great spot for activities

Big parking lot for 4 ball fields but not too close to them. Cars park on Empire so hard to see traffic coming. Big pavilion+nice Little Cubs Field. Small playground but big skateboard area.

Skate park. Basketball hoops. Two full courts. Two separate play grounds.

There is a fenced-in public pool. I am not sure what the price is to go to the public pool. The public pool in Read Park is closed for the 2020 season because of the CaronaVirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The fact that the pool is closed aside, the park isnt that big, there is a small place to play and there is also a cemetery right next to it. Im not sure what the name of the cemetery is.

Went to one of there play areas in Read park and, it was so full of bees we couldnt enjoy our picnic lunch. The bees were there before we even got our food out. We had to sit in the SUV to eat and went to Krape park to get away of the bees.

Potentially nice, but run down.

A five star in Freeport, Illinois.. astonishing! My family has an annual picnic in Freeport.. either at Read Park or Krape Park. Both are wonderful!

Great wide open place to play. Baseball fields, tennis courts, swimming center, and ice skating in the winter. Would give it a five stars but one of the playgrounds has been boarded up for a long time.

Went there for a wedding. I have lived in Freeport for along time an never knew what this building was for. Lol

I love the pools water slide! Also, in the winter they together a really nice ice skating rink in one part of the park.

This is a pretty nice park. They have sports Fields here. They have an especially good skatepark.

Its a great park for softball and baseball games. The pool I. The summer is also nice for the kids.

It is a nice park, well maintained, but needs a larger security or police presence. The parking during baseball season and football practice beginning is insane! Simply attempting to drive north on Burchard Avenue between Empire and Ameirican is like navigating a mine-field! There are kids and adults who walk blindly into the road, and you have to keep a very close eye out for toddlers and preschoolers just wandering into the road.

Always great to play softball at this park. Nice fields, good concessions, clean restrooms.

Read Park is great area with lots to do. Walking paths, two playgrounds, a skate park, ball diamonds, soccer fields, and Little Cubs field gives everyone something to do.

Not to crazy about paying for entry if Im not swimming or tanning for pool. Theres a free sand volley ball, kids play place, very nice skate park, soccer, tennis court, basketball & ice rink in winter thats free

Freeport’s public pool is ideal for for the FamilySwim from 6-8pm for $2But now they are only open from1pm to 5pm and that’s $6.

This park is one of only a handful of reasons to ever visit the Freeport area. Very nice park, with a nice pool and plenty of modern play equipment for children to play on.

I grew up in Freeport IL and there was alot to do there swim play Softball watch games take your kids to the park and play have picnics and meet friends sad they took 3 ball diamonds out the was history of men woman softball and little league baseball miss those days

Played tennis. Wind tough but at least it kept bugs away.

I use to visit Read Park every summer when I was a kid. I am now 65 yrs old and this park has so many new. Updated things. I love this Park..
