We loved our little hike this morning. A friend and I took my two dogs on a nice little walk. We took the Haraseeket trail. While it was fairly short, it was absolutely gorgeous. We saw some crabs and so many Osprey, and even a horseshoe crab! I also always carry a small trash bag to pick up little pieces of trash along trails. I walked out with a totally empty bag! Not a single scrap! We will absolutely be back.
Simple and clean trails with awesome water views as well as some deeper trails into the woods. I really appreciated that they had handicap accessible trail options as well. And flushing toilets were the feather in the cap of our day.
Wonderful little ocean front park. Ample amount of picking tables, and a great little walk to the water. It does get a bit busy on weekends, but be patient and you should be able to get a parking spot.
Great beginner trails. Easy access to the water. Great views. Can get busy but was able to find some less crowded spots
Over a dozen trails, to wander. Some even take you to the waters edge. Bathrooms. Picnics tables with Grills available. A small fee to get in, considering. Well worth the effort to get there.
A good place to enjoy the ocean view and dramatic rock formations, wade a bit, and smell the pine woods. The beach has lots of shells, so sandals are good for tender feet. Sometimes the trail to the water is rocky or steep, so wear good shoes or sport sandals.
Beautiful, relaxing place. Weve never done a very long visit here but it looks like having a picnic would be very nice. But even a quick visit to watch the Osprey and look at the water is great.
Beautiful trail system along the Maine coast. Never realized the parks neighborhood contains Wolfeneck farm and good-sized campground with some RV sites..
Wow! What a wonderful park. Miles of trails some oceanfront. Pet friendly. Trails are well maintained and a great to walk on. Do go see the Ospreys !
Beautiful easy hiking trails and picnic areas with open charcoal grills... trail leads you around to view areas of Casco Bay with views of osprey nests. It’s a great hike for beginners and families alike... also plenty of dog walking. Don’t forget to pack a picnic or plan a family event.
Beautiful little park with several trails, rock facades and a mini beach as well! Entry was $6 per non-resident of Maine (and I believe $4 if youre a resident) and is valid for multiple entries during the day. There was plenty of parking - especially considering we went on the 4th of July, and clear maps available. There is an island close by (off limits to visitors) where ospreys build nests - very cool. A pair of binoculars would help view those better! No food close by so we drive to Freeport, but you can bring food in and there are picnic areas and tables galore.
We bring our two Corgis every year. They love the hiking and views of the bay. Quiet, clean and there are picnic tables available.
The views are amazing right now because a lot of the leaves have fallen so the trails along the water you really can get a great View.
What beautiful park with great view towards the sea. The trails are easy to moderate. We had a great time here.
What an awsome place to visit. Beautiful for sunrises and great trailsWould visit often
Easy trails from parking to the waters edge large tides and you can clam here. Great place for kids as well as people with disabilities, wheelchair accessible. About 30 to 45 min from Brunswick Maine
Great views, easy hikes. Awesome place to walk around and check out the river and the bay
Great set of hiking trails. A loop around the whole park took about 2h. Trails were well maintained and low difficulty. Minimal bugs.
Its a beautiful place. The hiking isnt too large and extensive, great if you have kids or arent an experianced hiker. But you can reach the water, bring a kayak, and there is even a picnic area.
Beautiful park with well maintained hiking trails good for all abilities with old stone walls and wildlife to discover. There are both sandy and rocky beaches with plenty of pools to explore at low tide. Trails have a nice collection of interpretive signs. Plenty of parking (at least off season) and well maintained restroom and picnic facilities.
Awesome accessible trail, as well as some nice loop trails with awesome views. Plenty of great areas for picnicking too.
Wolfe’s Neck is such a lovely state park. There aren’t many facilities like camping or amenities such as organized tours at this park which helps it, I think, to keep a feeling of being authentically wild and serene. Though there are nicely maintained pathways and of course signage, it is a maintained state park. But I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you want to feel like you’re really experiencing the land here, you can. The couple who bought the property and gifted it to the state, mandated that it would always be the way it is and would stay pristine. That shows! I really loved my visit and wish I could have stayed all day.
Lot of people. Great views of the bay and river
Fabulous main woods nice view of the ocean great walk unfortunately too many people without masks
Definitely would have been 5 stars but for $56 a night they gave me a site that is basically shared with another. If you stay dont take #227
Beautiful park with nice trails to walk.
Nice walk through the woods and trails down to the water. Nicer when tide is out. Can roam the shore
Great park! A couple of Osprey nests and beautiful (fairly short but numerous) trails. Best at off hours during the week;)
Pretty place. Lots of trails, many handicapped accessible. Dog friendly.
Beautiful views and some nice trails for anyone. Nice picnic spots.
Such an amazing, clean, beautiful park!! The trail was luscious green, and the view of the coast was spectacular. The drive to the Park was also very scenic.
Just an awesome off the beaten path place to hang out anytime during the year!Open year-round with hiking trails and beautiful spectacular views of upper Casco Bay.Come hike the trails with a loved one or just the solitude of a walk in the woods!Love this place!!!
Great spot to see ospreys, hike on rocky trails, and stop for a beach side picnic. Cooler and breezier than inland, with plenty of shade. Neat activities that vary with the seasons. Not a bad drive from Portland, and much closer than bigger parks. Worth the trip.
Awesome views and facilities...did not have much time to explore, but I would like to come back in the future!!!
Beautiful group of trails not too far off the beaten path. Just minutes from the bustle of Freeport shopping you can find some wilderness solitude. Trails are ready to access in all seasons and well maintained. All the trails are easy and short but offer beautiful views. There are many programs available to new and experienced hikers alike, including group hikes and winter gear try-outs so its a good location to get your Maine outdoor adventure habit started.
Pretty cool area for exploring and going on a relaxing walk. Great for dogs in my opinion... Beautiful ocean views and lots of room for parking
Nice State park, many trails and lookouts !
Beautiful trails. Well taken care of
Its been a few years since I last visited and my first visit in the winter. With the extensive trail system you can avoid the crowds on the casco bay trail or not, your choice. Plenty of dogs some of which are on leash. We had a great time in the 2 hour visit.
So close to civilization and yet so serene. Great for walking my small dog. the smell of the salt sea air was wonderful. inexpensive (out of state)fee to use a wonderful resource
I was up in Brownfield by myself for the weekend and didnt want to waste a beautiful February day. Busted out my Maine Atlas in search of a little adventure not roo far away. I was rewarded with my choice. Great scenery, easy to follow trails, more than enough directions to go to occupy a few hours.Ill definitely be back in the Spring and Summer with the family, or maybe just the dogs.
Public restrooms, free parking, picnic areas & breathtaking trails!
Nice short hike to scenic water views.
Kayaking tandem in an estuary... so memorable. Organic food was so yummy. Wonderful atmosphere.
Excellent state park near Freeport Maine. There is a charge to enter and park a vehicle, but the waterfront views are well worth the price. Several outcrops and well maintained hiking trails. Nothing too challenging
Great place to hike, easy trails, pretty views.
What a lovely park! Paths are well marked, theres a nice map available at the park entrance. Some of the paths had nice stone sections or bridges over small streams. Very pretty. The coastal trail leads to a gravel beach that had thousands of periwinkle shells. My toddler and I had a great time.
Beautiful location, clean facilities and quiet after 10pm. Will be back.
This is a beautiful place to bring family and do some light hiking. You can go down to the water and see the overlook.
A beautiful place to explore, trails along the shore line and through the woods, not to long or steep.
Great place to relax and get away from it all!
Nice easy hike and really nice views.
Magical place... great hiking trails... right along the shore line and in the white pines...
Great variety of manageable trails and fun picnic opportunities...
Really cool place and love all the trails there.
Enjoyed visiting the park. Learned about tress throgh hunt activity. Garret was the guide worked with us. He is awesome.
Had a great time. Plaths were well marked and place was clean.
Beautiful place, nice walking trails
Beautiful park, nice paths.
Great place to take the kids on an easy hike/walk. Flat, cleared trails. Lots of information boards about the wildlife and ecosystem. Tons of picnic tables and a covered picnic shelter. Bathrooms were clean. Makes for a fun afternoon!
Had a great hike, many trails and great views. We plan to return to explore other trails.
Great walk through the woods with views of the bay!
Great walking trails, and a view to go with it!
A stunning view across the Bay Area!
Beautiful, clean and very well kept. Such a scenic piece if Maines coastline.
Bring binoculars. Easy hiking. Beautiful, small.
Excellent hike, well kept trails, perfect for beginners and older folks like me. Amazing views.
Great trails. Not a lot of elevation gain. Only one Porta potty.in the off season.
Great hike and great view!
Always so breathtaking. It is Gods place. Take your time, take in the ocean air and the views!! Stay a while and breathe. Year round. Breathtaking beautiful.
Gorgeous quiet walk. Trails are visibly marked and easy to follow.
Great little park with informational signage about the ecosystem. Loved it!
Well maintained trails and beautiful views.
Great trails and very well maintained.
Small but beautiful state park with trails. Entry fee.
Very clean and a very freindly place to go and be at.
Super fun hiking with awesome water access.
Great place to bring your dog or young kids. Well cleared trails, and an easy hike down to the water.
This is one of my favorite parks.
Small park but its a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The balsam trees smell wonderful and if you look closely, you might see a harbor seal.
I have heard a lot about Wolfes Neck Woods State Park as really spectacular. Five minute drive from the center of Freeports bustling shopping district, and as visitors approach the park, marshes and open fields provide a tranquil transformation back to nature. In 1969, this area of more than 200 acres was given to the State by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M.C. Smith of Freeport. The park contains varied ecosystems, including climax white pine and hemlock forests, a salt marsh estuary, and the rocky shorelines on Casco Bays and the Harraseeket River. Great place to get away and enjoy nature@
Lovely place for a picnic a hike with the puppies.
Very well maintained, an ideal quick or long stop for families to have a picnic around breathtaking views
Beautiful state park. Great little trail network with excellent waterfront views.
B.E.A....utiful. trails were easily navigable. Bathrooms were clean. Bring cash for donation box at main gate. Maine is just so friggin beautiful this time of year! Note the Freeport outlets are nearby.
Nice little park. Picturesque.
This park is absolutely gorgeous. It has multiple points where you can walk down the rocks to the ocean. During low tide, it has wonderful beaches. Only thing, please make sure you leave the park by 8:30 pm as the gates really do close at 8:30. If you stay after, you force someone to work overtime without pay and possibly lead to a search and rescue mission, so just be very mindful of the time! Overall, the park is amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Beautiful scenery. Well worn trails. Nice restrooms. Even bags for your pets needs. Educational info about local wildlife. Weve been before and will go again!
Beautiful views, nice hiking!!
