A pretty nice dog park right in the middle of lots of parks and walking paths. There is a cover for shade on both sides, and water bowls for the dogs. It can get pretty muddy if it rains a lot, so they sometimes close it to preserve the grass. There are bathrooms across the street at Kenmore park

Cookie and I really enjoy our furry friends at this park! Never any unruliness or fights amongst the kids (our pets)! I guess that’s what I love most because my pet and I feel safe and welcomed, always .

Good dog park. Friendly dog owners. The only problem is when SAH parents bring their kids to play with the dogs. It is against the rules to have kids play with the dogs.

Nice park, but would be better if it was astro turf.

Website said it was open but it is not. Not sure if it’s because of the mud in some spots or not but it would save time an trouble to know if it’s open or not before we put the dog in the car and drive out there.

Go to Duff Park. The only thing thats good about this dp is that they have public water and easy access to the Canal Path . It smells and isnt well kept. I used to be the treasurer of the committee for this park when it first opened and have visited recently and was sad to see the state of it :(

Our go-to dog park. Our pup always has a great time and it’s connected to a really nicely paved walking trail. Great place to stop on a long walk or nice run. My only complaint would be it’s super muddy. It needs new sod or grass grown.

Dog parks are great, its the dog owners who can make or break an experience. Been coming here for about eight years, we use it for a break from walking on the canal trail and so my dog can have a drink of water. Nice little park =)

Its a nice place but your average dog park. Fenced in and has a water source. The people there are always nice.

Great dog park. There used to be more chairs but theyve been taken a way, still, there are benches and a hut to provide shade. Size is decent. There is a hose to provide clean water. There are two bowls that were donated by regulars for communal usage. People who complain about rowdy dogs will say the same thing about every other dog park. They are dogs people. If youre too worried that your dog will behave like a dog and play like a dog with other dogs than maybe you need to reassess how much youve sheltered your pet. Ive seen several larger dogs play just fine with smaller dogs. If you get too caught up with not letting your dog play with others that you have to leave within 5-10 minutes of entering then youre the issue.

Decent dog park, nothing too special. The other dogs are the biggest problem. Far too many instances of bad dog owners allowing their dogs to attack other dogs. Including far too many unfixed dogs lately.

This place is a hit or miss honestly. There are days where it’s nice and peaceful and fun and then there are days where we stay for 10 minutes because of how packed and rowdy it can get. Like others have said, some owners pay their dog absolutely no mind and don’t pick up after them, and some are absolutely judgmental of the breeds, I’ve heard it more than once myself. But that is just some. The actual place itself...Chairs are trashed and there aren’t enough for the amount of people that show up sometimes and not much shade. We take our pup there to socialize with the other shy dogs and get some exercise and that’s about it.

My service dog loves this dog park. I have read some really bad reviews about the regulars that go to this park and I have never experienced this, I am in a motorized wheelchair and I have to ask people there to clean up after my dog if he goes to the bathroom. I also have to ask for help in and out of the gates. People have always helped me and nobody has ever been rude.i am always grateful for the help.

Great place to take your dog to run and play! Just be responsible, and KNOW YOUR DOG PARK ETIQUETTE, PLEASE! 99% of the time, its fantastic fun! Every once in awhile, you will get an irresponsible dog owner that shows up and doesnt know how to handle their pooch. Hardly EVER a problem though. Highly recommended!!!

Nice place for your dogs to run around about 100-150 yds. across. Seems to always be nice people with well behaved playful dogs. There is two parks one supposedly for smaller dogs, Im not sure if it is open because I do not have small dogs. Coop n Bos favorite place for sure!

For me the Fredericksburg Dog Park was ok. Many dogs there seemed to be enjoying the park and each other.

Neither side really had grass, and NO ONE picks up after their dogs. I watched several dogs go potty and no one cleaned up after them. Its a decent size play area, but large and small dogs are in there together, and large dog owners dont watch or care if their dogs bully smaller ones. All of the small dog owners stayed together in a corner and didnt stay long. Were unlikely to go back. Duff McDuff Green park nearby is much, much nicer and has 3 separate dog areas, small, large, and a run.

Plenty of room for lots of dogs. Chairs to sit in and water for dogs. There are 2 sides to the park and only one is open at a time to preserve the life of the grass. Sometimes they keep one side open too long and it basically turns to dirt/mud.

I took my chi here, and for the most part people were pretty chill. I came on a day with a bunch of new comers so it worked out well. There was only one wild card in the bunch, but for the most part my little one was able to socialize and get all the exercise he needed.I spoke with a regular, and she said after a while people get to know the dogs, and the ones who dont get along have their own system for sharing the park.As long as you know your dog and how to handle/work with them,I think this place is a great way to get Fido some good outdoors time.

Great little dog park with plenty of room for dogs to play and chairs and a canopy for owners to sit. Popular with locals, this place has a lot of regulars. Amenities for dogs include water spigots. Located right along the canal path so you can park in the lot or anywhere along the canal path and make a short walk there

Park is alright. Usually lots of tennis balls and most people and dogs are nice. Park maintenance is lacking often. Either the grass will be way to long or they will wait till the park has become a sandlot before changing sides.

My dog likes this place more than me. Its a large field with a fence around it. The quality of this place depends on other owners and dogs.

Stopped here while passing through with my dog to give her a place to play. She really enjoyed the dog park.

Only for city of Fredericksburg residents, but they wont stop you from getting your dog some water after a walk. Its open most days. If the field is wet or the weather is bad, they wont even unlock the gates. Its a good place to park if you want to walk your dog on the canal path trail, but please dont park there unless you are going to use the park since that is the only parking nearby.

Basically just an empty field for the dogs to play in. Its got an overhang for shade if needed and plenty of water for the dogs.

Pretty good dog park. Everyone seems to do their part to keep it clean and keep toys floating around.

My puppy was attacked there twice!!! It would of been a lot worse had my big dog not saved him. If you want to pay $100s in vet bills thats the place to go.

I like this park during off hours. I never come on the weekends. Theres water, peepee covered seating, a bunch of toys, and its right by my house. Park etiquette is pretty relaxed. Theres a good rotation of regulars and usually not too many problems. Just the usual owners-not-paying-attention issues. (Or entire litters of ten week old puppies brought to the park...)The park comfortably holds up to maybe ten dogs. Too many more than that and it is just way too crazy for me and my pup. Theres nowhere to go to escape excited dog mobs, or your dogs new rude BFF/frenemy.

The dog park is a little on the small side and usually they have half of the park closed for maintenance. Its restricted to residences of The City of Fredericksburg.

James Doty hit the nail on the head. Muddy pit in direct sunlight with where to sit. The people who use the park are rude, clicky, and elitist. I guess my rottweiler is the fancy enough to play with your precious pups. Also they really are fascists...card carrying.

I should give this dog park 0 stars. Walked in and two dogs ran up and ATTACKED my dog while their irresponsible owners just SAT THERE. I was forced to push and kick these dogs away while their owners did nothing. HORRIBLE. Myself and dog are traumatized from the event.

The hours here are erratic; the City of Fredericksburg is militant about enforcing the 22401 only rule; people are rude; dogs are not well behaved; etc. I could go on, but I wont. This park is nothing more than a muddy area inside a chain-link fence. Theres nothing to it: no trees, no obstacles - not even any decent park benches where people could visit (that is, if friendly people ever came here). And the fascist park monitors and signage are really unnerving.

There are a wide range of dogs who come and although I dont bring my little tiny dog there everyone always seems to be having a great time.

Fun park for the doggos. Sparc when it comes to amenities(agility set, obstacles, etc) but a good space for the dogs to play!
