Easy water access with two boat ramps. Good parking area. Great spot for kayakers with minimal boat traffic west of the dock. A few benches to sit on if needed.

There is an area to fish from the pier and plenty of parking. A boat launch too however there are no picnic benches and no place to rent a kayak, paddle boat, etc.There is some shade but there were a lot of hornets flying around in certain areas so if you go, be careful.Not much of a breeze but many interesting historical placards to read.George Washingtons boyhood home is across the Rappahannock River, although you can not see the home from this spot in the summer with all the foliage.

Nice little place. We got amazing pictures around sunset. Bring bug spray. There is some spots you can reach 5-6 Pokemon stops at once.

I love to come here and take pictures. It has a beautiful golden hour and just captures the essence of downtown Fredericksburg. It has a boat dock if you want to get it on the water and a couple of mini docks for fishing. Plenty of places to sit down and a porter john. Just a cute place to visit and feels like home!

The historical significance of this place was mind blowing. This is a major port where slaves were brought into Virginia and the auction block where they were sold is just a few blocks away. You can feel their pain as your step to the auction block, as you stand at the dock and wonder how heartless can people be to treat others humans like this and then glorify it.

You can relax you mind ..Watch people Listen to trains.The water is really muddled..

The ramp is great for small boats but needs dredged out for larger boats because of the silt. If you have a two wheel drive, it can be a problem. If anyone has any power to make suggestions, please have this addressed. Little Falls ramp as well. Great place to fish!?

The boat ramp needs work and only 1 port a potty and it was dirty .Not impressed.?

City Dock Park is one of Fredericksburg’s gems. It isn’t completely hidden but is a bit off the beaten path. Being able to launch a kayak, or even larger boat, into the Rappahannock or to fish from the dock (with a proper license) are some nice extras to this wonderful city.

It has good parking and access to the river. The fishing platforms are easy to use and right next to parking. Handicapped accessibility.

Very family-friendly

I come down to the dock at least 4 times a week. Being by the river is a calming, tranquil thing for me. Dont like it when it gets overcrowded. And SOME people dont know how to use the trash cans and cigarette butt receptacles. If you cant be respectful of the river and its surroundings, you dont need to come here.

Its a dock where people fish and launch boats. If youre looking to do either of those things, you will be satisfied.

Lovely historical area.

Kinda sketchy at night, but pretty cool

This is a nice spot. It gets 4 out of 5 stars because in some places, the views are overgrown with foliage that requires some sort of maintenance. The water at this point moves slow. This is pretty much the furthest end of Downtown Fredericksburg city in which youll be able to gaze at the river. Before 2 is the best time to come here and park. I say this because sometimes it will get crowded at the waterfront, mostly in the afternoons. Fishing here is a hit or miss, dont expect to catch much when there are many lines cast, as this stretch of water isnt very wide. Enjoy Responsibly!

Its a great place to visit. People fishing; people boating; people paddle boarding and kayaking. Beautiful river and surrounding woodlands. Almost right across from George Washingtons boyhood home. Very historic place. Right now the boat ramps need a good cleaning---probably as a result of the very heavy rains in the recent past.

Perfect spot to launch a kayak or boat! Or, fish off the dock! Only problem about this spot is that a lot of sketchy people frequent this location as it is secluded. Beautiful views of the train going across the bridge as well.
