We did Something Wicked for a birthday party and had a blast. The room was creative and immersive with forest campsite, graveyard and creepy shed. There were six of us and the room was challenging but fun. There was no one scheduled in the room after us so they kindly have us some extra time to finish. The employee we had as our guide was fun and helpful (when we needed help!).Overall an awesome time and much better than I was expecting as a first time escape roomer.
Our family decided to do a escape room together on a rainy Monday that we all had off from school and work. We had a great time working together as a team and managed to get through our difficult room the The tomb of the Red Queen with only 47 seconds to spare. It was tough but a lot of fun. My 9 year old did the escape room for the first time and loved it. We plan on coming back to do a Christmas escape room.
We came yesterday as a birthday surprise from my family and had a great time! The way they have things laid out feels like a movie theater. This is only our 2nd escape room but it was leaps and bounds better than the first one. The game master Leo explained everything and gave us hints when we asked (which was a lot haha). Also liked that mostly everything found was used and not just put there to throw you off. My only complaint was it was probably 80 degrees in the room. Combined with moving around trying to solve things we were all very sweaty and uncomfortable temperature wise. Everything else was great!
We did the Exit Protocol today and it was so much fun! They did everything they could to make it safe and I would highly recommend them if youre looking for something fun to do!
Take the time and do it. It will change your mind set. With the world falling down this place will pick you up! See Paul for a great great time. Support local families
I HATE puzzles. I have a self-confidence deficit when it comes to puzzles. But I have now done two rooms at Rush Hour and enjoyed every second. The rooms we have done have been the special seasonal rooms and they were amazingly decorated, with puzzles that definitely took imagination, but at no time was I running for the doorway. My husband also enjoyed himself immensely as well as the party we were with for the most recent room (Christmas themed). I dont hesitate to recommend Rush Hour as a fun local activity. We have not yet done any of the core rooms (the ones that I believe are permanent rooms) but plan to go back. A great deal of care is taken to make sure the rooms are fun and beautifully decorated.
Lucky Duck Speakeasy ... 1st escape room with my teenager. Stopped in to kill some time, luckily an upcoming room was available. I’d always recommend advance booking. Lockers are available for belongings. Staff was friendly, entertaining and very helpful. Very cool theme. Each lock tied in pretty well with story. Only suggestion would be a countdown tv monitor in each room for multiple room games. Compared to similar DC metro area company’s the game rate is reasonable. Will be back next time I’m in town.
We booked my daughters birthday party at Rush Hour recently. My daughter has a great time with the escape room. it was very interactive and creative. We loved the costumes! the party room was very nice, spacious and decorative. Booking the party was fairly easy. They offered great customer service until the day of the party were my guest and I had to sit outside with cake and decorations until an employee opened the building. I thought that was very unprofessional since they knew a party was booked at that time. However, they allowed us to have extra time for our party which was very nice. We plan to return for a double date at rush hour soon.
Great time today. The staff was awesome and we did two rooms.
I recently took a group of 8 6th graders to Rush Hour where they completed the Something Wicked room with about 30 seconds to spare. The game master was Awesome!! He helped them without giving them answers, gave them clues that pointed them in the right direction and interacted with them in a fun and engaging way. This is the 3rd room Ive been in here and the staff has always been wonderful! I highly recommend this facility - fun for adults, families and kids! Cant wait to go back and do another room!
This was a lot of fun. Had 6 people working for almost an hour to get the solution to the mission. They had about 8 different rooms with different difficulties. Cant wait to go back and try another. Good for small groups but not young children. Thanks to the game master who made this a great experience.
This place is great! The customer service was outstanding. We had the pleasure of working with several of the staff, and every single one of them went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch! The space itself is just terrific. Comfy seating in the lounge while we waited for our room to be ready, cabinets with locks so we could store our valuables while we were in the game, and complimentary snacks and drinks, too!The room we picked was Something Wicked, and we absolutely loved it! It was so much fun!I highly recommend Rush Hour Live Escape Games! We cant wait to go back for more games!!!
It was a fun experience, like Im sure they all are, but in these days it was good to see how clean they were/are. So on top of sanitizing everything, almost immediately. It really put our minds at ease. Great job!
Such an awesome, fun place!!! I surprised my mom for her birthday and she was ecstatic! I messed up my reservation and thought it had gone through but it didn’t (completely my fault) but they were so accommodating and we were still able to do an escape room and we had a BLAST. I highly recommend, everyone there is so nice and friendly, customer service is on point!
This is the second room we have done there and it was my favorite to date. We did Something Wicked and I loved it. Atmsopherically on point. A BIG room. And TONS to do. Everyone on our squad got to solve something in the room. GM was very helpful. Overall a great experience.
My group has done escapes rooms before this one (from different companies) & we booked the Wicked Forest which was supposedly one of their hardest rooms. I enjoyed it just being the 4 of us in the room. I really liked that our guide went over the different types of locks in the room & how to open & reset them. No other place Ive been to did that before. The room itself was massive in comparison to other escape rooms Ive played. I really enjoyed not feeling like I was tripping over my teammates. Our guide was very helpful giving us clues when we asked. I loved the story line & felt the clues & story all went together. This was really well put together. That room is very interactive with staff which always kept us on our toes. In the end it was the first room weve been able to escape because all of the elements worked together so well. 10/10 I would go back!
We had my sons 13th birthday party here. We started a month and a half before our even with just going in to look. The staff where very pleasant and professional, they explained how everything worked, then walked me through how it all worked even showing me the nuts and bolts in the command center. They offered me many different amenities and recommendations. Never once trying to hard sell me. The next time I returned to the store it was to book his party. Again the staff did there jobs perfectly. I really appreciated the email notifications confirming my date and time, followed with a professional invoice and then my receipt. All before I even left the front door. I received a polite reminder a few days before the event. I realize these are computer generated, but it speaks to the level of professional service we received each step of the way. Our event was a huge success with a party in the beautiful party room. Followed by an experience I believe my son will remember for the rest of his life. I can say that the young teenagers at the party as well as the parents that acted as chauffeurs and desired to wait where very well taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Had an awesome time here with my family! We were able to book a week out for a birthday party and everyone had a blast! We did Black beards brig and absolutely loved it. Everyone there was super nice and welcoming!! We look forward to trying more rooms here in the future!
My family and I had a wonderful time! We loved that we could bring our two year old daughter along to enjoy in the fun too! We completed the Blackbeard room. It was very well done, and very engaging. My husband, myself, and our daughter were visiting from Canada. When we return to visit again next year, this will definitely be on our hit list once again. Thank you so very much!
My wife and I brought our two boys, 9 and 12 years old, and participated in our first ever escape room experience. The website advised that Blackbeards brig was a good choice for the kids, so we decided to go with it. Oh boy, was this an awesome experience! Our kiddos were thoroughly engaged the entire time and they even felt that time was flying. The riddles and puzzles were so fun and the decor of the room really made you feel like you were in a pirate ship! The staff was absolutely amazing and they provided us with the best time ever. With a few of their hints, we were able to solve the puzzle with 1.5 minutes left! We will definitely return and the kids have stated it was one of their favorite activities ever. Thank you all so much for a wonderful family experience!
We had a blast! Ive gone four times so far. Our game masters have always been super helpful and every person that has gone with me to play has enjoyed the game. This would be good for a party as well!
Really nice set up and lots of games to chose from.. Its always beautifully decorated in there for the seasons. We enjoyed a game made with kids in mind. Ages 9 and 6 had fun plus adults!
Had a complete blast. Our family of 5 ( our kids our teens) had a very fun time working through the Lost Jewel of Zanzibar. Highly recommend this business. Well be returning to do another room.
Me and my grandsons really enjoyed it. Our guide was awesome and very helpful. Although I think the price could be lower we had a great time.
Our friend David recommended this place and I am so glad he did. We had so much fun! Thanks for a wonderful Escape experience! Tomb of the Red Queen and Wicked were a blast. Theyre tough rooms so bring your A game people:)
We had so much fun in the Something Wicked game! Really challenging but very gratifying when you solve the clues.
You need to the k outside the box on his. Much fun! F you try it, youll like it.
We did the escape room to celebrate an adult birthday, a family group of eight adults, two of whom had done an escape room before. We had a great time and managed to escape! Our guide, Nicole, did a good job
We had my sons 13th birthday party at Rush Hour in Fredericksburg, VA and had a BLAST! 6 boys and 4 adults, we attempted to compete Tomb of the Red Queen. It was tough, but with some helpful hints from our Game Master we made it out in time!I highly recommend it! Lots of fun for all ages!
We reserved for The Lost Jewel of Zanzibar for the day after Christmas and ended up having an absolute blast! When we first entered the room we actually all thought “is this it??” But the puzzles just kept going and surprises kept popping up! This was our first room, but with the amount of brain power and problem solving experience we all had we finished with over 17 minutes to spare. Needless to say we’ll be back for one of the harder ones in the future!
The temp of the room was a little warm. But over all the experience was great!! Would definitely go back!
We had Leo as our game Master, twice now, we absolutely love her. We have done the Marci grad room and something wicked! They were a lot of fun, wish we had more time but will definitely be back
5th time playing here. Rooms have a good variety of puzzles to solve; nice thematic decorations. Have enjoyed all of our visits.
We had such a great time! There were 9 of us in the room, and our gamemaster did a great job giving us clues when we were truly stumped. Overall a great time!
We brought our IT organization here yesterday for our summer outing and we could not have been more pleased. Everyone had a great time and the staff was outstanding. The rooms were very difficult even for a large group(30-40) nerds like us. I’d absolutely recommend this as an organizational / team building activity for any company. The staff was well prepared to handle a group of our size!!10/10We will definitely be back!!
Our room wasnt set up right, it was completely missing a clue so they ended our game before we finished. Never offered a refund or anything.
This is the second time that Ive participated in a Rush Hour Live Escape Game and each time, I was not disappointed! Out of a total of six rooms and scenarios that you can participate in, each one given an hour to solve, the two that I participated in were nothing short of exciting! I HIGHLY recommend Rush Hour Live Escape Games to anyone who enjoys puzzles, mysteries, and teamwork, as the scenarios require everyones contribution in order to solve the puzzles and ultimately escape the room! Youll not be disappointed!
I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff are nice and helpful, We did the Black Beards brige. It was fun and a great team building exercise
Well organized, smart use of technology both for operations purposes and within the game. Mardi Gras room was perfect for a mix of experienced and inexperienced players, and not scary at all so a great choice if your team includes younger players. Highly recommended!!!
The staff are very polite and accommodating. We had a great time, and loved the puzzles in the room we played. This was the second room we have played there, and we will definitely return again!
Such a great location and loved that they have costumes! Went with all my siblings for a birthday and cant wait to do it again.
Brought my kiddos ages 10, 6 and 3 to do the Lost Jewel Of Zanzabar. The description said all ages and they were right! Our guide Jennifer gave the littlest one an eye spy card to use in the room to mark off things she saw. And she gave us hints at the right time to make sure we were successful. We each had a great time and that is hard to do with our spread of ages! We will definitely go back.
Went as a birthday celebration for a friend. We had a great time! Of course she chose the MOST difficult puzzle, but its a great way to keep the brain cells sharp!
First time doing an escape room. So much fun! I did not personally use the restroom but my friends made no complaints about them.
We have done many escape rooms around the country & this was the third room weve done at Rush Hour Live. Fantastic!! The game masters are excellent, the rooms are fun & the puzzles are challenging & creative. I will be back!!
We had a great time! Very fun and exciting trying to beat the clock :)
Really enjoyed it. Funner than youd think
Took my 11 year old son. We had a great time. Only had 20 seconds left on the clock!
Tons of fun. This was the first time I did an escape room and it was a blast. The experience was well managed by the game master with engaging puzzles and entertaining scenery. I would definitely recommend for all skill levels and experiences. They have rooms for up to eight people at a time, and they also offer a military discount.
Great entertainment! We originally booked the wrong escape room location but the owner was very kind and worked with us to adjust our time...staff very professional and friendly and you can tell they really enjoy being a part of the adventure for their guests...we ended up coming back the next day with our kids to a fun-themed family room where the clues were a bit easier, and the kids had a blast!
Great place! I have been to plenty of escape room places and this far exceeded many! Great decor in the lobby and welcoming staff. The escape room we did was Blackbeards Brig and it was impressive! We had a great time and even got on the leader board! :) Will definitely be back and highly recommend to others! Glad we have it here in town.
Always entertaining and a fun place to take the family. Can your team figure out the clues?
The staff is amazingly friendly and welcoming, we typically play their children themed rooms, and we have fun everytime! This fall pumpkin room was no exception. We love rush hour!
My friends and I had a great time. The staff was amazing and the room was well decorated with challenging puzzles.
Done a few escape rooms before but this one was especially fun really did enjoyed the holiday themed
This is the fifth escape room I have been to and I would say that it is my third favorite. We went to the speak easy room. The room had good decorations but not as over the top as my favorite two. It was easier than some other rooms but we knew that going in as we were bringing a new couple who had never done one so it was good for them while still enjoyable for us. The staff is very friendly and the place looks very professionally done. The costumes are a nice bonus. If you are an experienced escape roomer or if you are looking for a new experience and memorable night out I would recommend this place.
I did the lucky duck speakeasy and had so much fun! The puzzles are a good difficulty and the themes are very interested, will definitely go again
The nicest escape room I’ve seen. Lobby is spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Staff was super nice and gave my group of kids just the right amount of hints to succeed with just a few minutes left. After the game there is a fun dress-up photo opportunity and there is no extra charge for the photos! Also it was great that as long as we booked some minimum number of people, they did not book additional strangers in with our group. Most escape rooms do not do that. Highly recommend!
We had a great time. The pirate room was just challenging enough for our group of seven.
A group of friends and I decided to try our first Escape Room tonight. We decided pretty late so most of their lower level rooms were booked and we went with their Something Wicked and we were very very happy. One of the owners was our helper and he did not spoil anything but did give us some hints when we were stuck on a lock. We managed to finish the room in about 50 minutes, a difficult room, our first time and in 50 minutes, I was fairly impressed with us.We will be returning! Thanks so much for a great Friday night guys!
Me and my girlfriend had a great time here. 10/10 the staff were friendly and the rooms were fun.
Weve been to Rush Hour Live 4 times. We always have a blast, however, twice (including our visit 2 days ago) a clue was missing from the room and after more than 10 mins of frustration the gamemasters had to come into the room and verify clues were missing and give us the clue. Quality control should be better, as these were physical clues you need to finish the game. When we did the Christmas themed room a key was not where it should have been. 2 days ago when we did Tomb of The Red Queen a picture in a book was missing. Its frustrating. All that being said, the gamemasters are always kind, helpful and fun.
Fun hip place and cool decorations. Clean and great staff.
Great time in the Blackbeards Brig and Tomb of the Red Queen. Ive done over two dozen escape rooms and there were elements in these rooms that I have never seen before. Not the hardest or most challenging rooms but they are a ton of fun. Both rooms are very hands on and make you think. The staff is extremely friendly and excited to share their rooms with you. Professional looking establishment from the moment you walk in.I would give this a 5 star rating except for the fact that you cannot reserve a room with less than 4 people. They do allow for walk-ins of less than 4 people and they make those rooms private. However, when you have to travel almost an hour for the room it would be nice to know you have a dedicated time slot. With that being said, we did a walk-in on a Saturday and a Sunday and we were able to get into a room.If you are in the area I recommend checking out their rooms!
Great group activity! Well thought out and put together. Nice staff and clean facility.
Our room was not set up properly before we went in. There were clues, locks and keys that were left out or missing. The game master would give us “hints” or clues and then be like oh no that’s not right “my bad” .... they actually paused our time because they had messed up and they realized it. First time there and never returning.
Went with my coworkers and had a great time! Worth every penny
The room was a good challenge, our first time doing this, a ton of fun, Sam was awesome as our Guide. We cleared the speak easy with 34 seconds left till the bomb was set to go off. A++++
Awesome facility! Lots of impressive themed rooms and good puzzles
This was our first time doing an escape room. We were there celebrating a birthday and had a group of 8 people. We did the Blackbeards Brig room. They had a locker to put all of our extra stuff like purses, cell phones, and coats so we didnt have to carry things around with us. They also had costumes and outfits available to help us get into the pirate mood before entering the escape room. The room itself was a lot of fun. There were enough puzzles to keep us all occupied and entertained even with 8 people in the room at once. We didnt find any of the puzzles too difficult but thats not to say they were easy; they were just the right amount of difficulty to be satisfying but not frustrating. If we got stuck at any point they could send us messages on a monitor to help us out. In the end, we finished with about 20 minutes remaining on the clock. If we didnt have 8 people it probably would have taken a little bit longer. In the end, we had a great time and they took a picture of the whole group and shared it with us at no extra cost which I thought was a nice touch. At $25 per person, I think it was definitely worth it for the experience we received. I think we will definitely be back in the future to try some of the other rooms
Great experience every time. The puzzles are always entertaining, challenging but fair, and the staff is fantastic. A lot of attention goes into the room design.
It was our first time going we had a blast.
My family and I had a great time! Everything from the customer services, to the decor was absolutely AMAZING! We have been to a few escape rooms and this one was the best! We actually escaped the Tomb of the Red Queen, WOW!
Marine Corps JROTC staff from MCB Quantico had a great time in the Lost Jewel of Zanzibar, Lucky Duck Speakeasy and Blackbeards Brig rooms for teambuilding. We all dressed in the costumes and props and had prizes for the first team to escape. The staff was friendly and Paul went out of his way to ensure we could reserve the rooms according to government policies. This will definitely be on the top of our list for our next event.
We had a great time finding the lost jewel! Our guide Rose was awesome and helped with clues just when we needed them. Can’t wait to go back and try another room!
It was a great time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and will def go back
If you want the perfect group date activity look no further! We have done Lost Jewel of Zanzibar and Blackbeards Brig. Both rooms are fun and engaging. Where else can you remote control a pirate ship on water?! My husband and I were able to walk in without a reservation and play (you need at least 4 to reserve online). They are very professional and baby friendly. Both times either we or friends have had a baby with us and it wasnt a problem at all. They even provided a blanket for the little one to lay on.They dont actually lock you in, you can leave at any time if you need to. They also will not put you in a group of people you dont know. Not our preference personally, we like meeting new people but understandable. Overall very very fun!
Had fun with the church teens.
We did the Speak Easy room and it was fantastic! So much fun! We got down to the wire but still made it out with time to spare. The staff is so awesome and they really added to the experience. I highly recommend it!
We had such a blast at Rush hour escape rooms! The staff was friendly and the place was immaculate and well appointed. There were plenty of surprises during the game too which was a lot of fun. If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should do it, trust me, do it! You’ll be glad you did!
Ive been to 3 different escape room facilities now, always looking for new ones to try. When I decided to check this one out, I wasnt sure how it would compare to the others. Id already done some pretty cool rooms. Let me put this quite simply: dont go anywhere else. This is THE facility to use if your curious about trying or looking for your next escape room. From the second you walk inside to the beautifully decorated and furnished entry, you can see and feel the excitement and quality. You know your somewhere special. And then the game begins, and its like youve been thrown onto the set of a movie with the amount of work and detail thats been put into the rooms. The puzzles were beyond fascinating and fun. And you can even do the entire game in costume themed to your room. We will be back here within the month I imagine as we couldnt stop talking about it the rest of the night. Our group is very into puzzles and board games and that sort of thing so this was definitely the place for us. We specifically did the Tomb of the Red Queen, without realizing it was their hardest one and escaped with 5 minutes left. Even though this is the only room Ive seen, I cant suggest it enough. Its like being in an Indiana Jones movie or an Uncharted/Tomb Raider video game. Its perfect. I cant wait to see how their other rooms compare.
We came here as part of a birthday celebration and our family had a great time. We picked the most challenging escape. You get an hour to play. We figured it out with a few minutes to spare. If we got completely stumped our guide would give us a small clue to get us on our way.
We did the pumpkin room with my kids. They loved it!
So much fun, people were great. Well be doing it again.
We did a family escape for my 11 year old sons birthday since he has been asking to do one for some time. I wasnt sure how much he would be able to do in the game being younger, but he actually solved the very first clue on the practice ship in the waiting room all the way to the last clue we needed to finish our game. At the same time, there was plenty of puzzles and challenges throughout the game for us parents and our 14 year old son.We had an excellent experience from the ease of signing up for our time on the website, to having to last second re-schedule our time twice due to the b-day boy being sick, to the clean professional waiting area with plenty of practice items, to receiving a little in game help but no too much, to the team picture at the end that they e-mailed us free and didnt make us pay an $20 for! Great experience, I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time with a group of family, friends, or co-workers.
I had a blast doing the hardest challenge with my buddies.
So much fun! Family friendly! And everyone is so helpful and encouraging!
We did the lost Jewel of Zanzibar. We arrived early and got an excellent brief as we were all first timers. We decided to go whole hog and use the costume items they provided. Our game master was a perfect fit for us providing verification and additional hints when we needed them (the verification was the most impotent) . The puzzles were just right for us and we loved the surprises we experienced. It was a great time and we are planning to do another room soon
So much fun! Definitely recommend!
We have been to two other escape room locations in VA, and this is by far the most entertaining and immersive. The whole building is beautiful and you can really tell that they work hard to make it an experience. We did The Lost Jewel of Zanzibar and couldnt have been more impressed. The puzzles were fun, and so much more than meets the eye. We were even able to dress up in costume to really get into the experience. We plan on coming back and doing every room they have available.
My gf and I were able to get a small group together to do the Zanzibar room, and it was a blast. Staff was very engaging and looked like they were having just as much fun. The reason for the 4 stars is because of not being able to book with other people. There are times where this would be a great date night thing to do, but not everyone is available all the time to join, so it leaves just 2. Very difficult to finish a room with 2. Other escape rooms in the DC area allow you to join with other people, and it works out great as you get people with all different mindsets working together. Makes it very fun. If this option becomes available, Ill make this a 5 star!
Had a great time with my wife and friends. The Speakeasy was not too hard but not too easy (had to use hints :p) and full of secrets and other surprises. Will definitely be visiting again. One critique, as much as these frustrate me red herrings are always good to have in these rooms. Incorporate them!
A fun group activity. While expensive, there are discounts for students, military, and first responders. Great time killer. Staff can be of great assistance.
Best time Ive have had in a long time! Problem solving with your friends really brings you closer. The costumes made it fun and made it feel like a real adventure. The whole experience was worth it. If your tired of the same old things in fredericksburg you need to check out this place, just make sure you have a group of 4
This is our very favorite escape room! We have gone to four different places in three different cities, this one wins and its not close! Costumes? Yes, please! George, our game director, was fabulous. Engaging, funny, and completely endearing. Three generations for this game and we all had a great time. Also, extremely clean and well-maintained. Now, if that would just add that tequila to the pirate room!
This was our 3rd game at this escape room. Every time it is a great experience. The people that work there are delightful and the facility is very clean and nice. The rooms are a blast. Can’t wait for the new scary room!
Classy, creative, and fun. Excited for Fredericksburg to have this dynamic escape room in town! They have an awesome waiting area with puzzles and sofas, costumes, and a photo area. Lots of extra touches and attention to detail that make it special. A great way to spend time bonding with friends and making memories!
I run a local Meetup group for escape rooms, so Ive done a LOT of rooms in the area. That said, Rush Hour was one of the best Ive been to. Starting with the clean, inviting, and fun atmosphere of the waiting area all the way through the puzzles and codes we had to decipher, our group had so much fun throughout our experience. Definitely recommend!!!
