Its pretty. Almost looks like downtown Gatlinburg. Oddly, not an immediate scenic view. Trees actually block a good portion of the view; need to walk a good distance to get a decent photo. Worth a stop though, if not for the view but at least a good place to stretch the legs and allow pets to relieve themselves while getting a bit of exercise.

Nice place for a quick scenic stop off of 270, not to far from Frederick.

I have enjoyed going there both before and after hours for how serene it can be, even when right off the highway.Definitely a view that is within local reach

I didnt even take one picture at this scenic view. Not even a selfie, if that tells you anything. You can literally see the view better from the highway. There were some informational signs, which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. Other than that, until they create a better way to view the scene, dont go. All it is is trees & brush.

Im giving this 5 stars because the signs with the information on them were interesting to read. That said, I wouldnt have pulled over had I known there really is no view at all. It was disappointing, but again, the signs were interesting to read.

After driving past this scenic overlook on dozens of gorgeous, sunny days I decided to stop at this scenic view and take a breather from the 270 traffic today, despite the clouds and rain.I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful lavender which smelled amazing, and some interesting local historical information placards.Looking forward to returning some sunny day in the near future!

Its a beautiful spot, very clean and well kept. Unfortunately there wasnt much of a view because there were too many tall trees and it was a clear sky & sunny winter day- so it not like the view was blocked due to the foliage! I imagine the view was really something years ago before the trees grew too much.

Needs brush clearing and tree removal, visited 5 years ago and upkeep was much better.

Not much of a scenic view. More of a small rest stop. Dont expect some spectacular view or youll be very disappointed. Other than that, its a nice place to relax for a bit after a long drive.

This is a great stop for some rest and to read about some Civil War history. Down the hill from this stop, an important battle of the American Civil War happened. There are several signs explaining the battle. However, there has apparently been a growth of brush and trees and, as a result, this is not really a scenic view. From the highway, you can see a beautiful overlook of the town of Frederick and the neighboring country, but from this overlook, you cannot really see much other than the high mountains in the distance. It is still pretty, but not a scenic overlook.

This scenic pull over (& I hope this app records the location correctly) is a nice passive place with ample room to make that phone call or take a nap or just get out to stretch your legs. I think the trees have grown into the viewshed but i kind of liked the space. It is well kept.

Cant see much of anything with all the trees and shrubs, but I got a decent shot standing on the small wall. Decent place to park your car as a rest stop, no bathrooms, some historical information on some plaques.

Its a field with some information about a battle that took place here during the civil war. Unless you really just need to get out of your car to stretch, I wouldnt recommend stopping. Youre not missing out on any sights.

This would be very beautiful if they would cut down the 3-4 high weeds so you can see.

It’s honestly not much of a view in the aspect of how you’d imagine from the name. More like a rest stop with a overlook of a grassland and few trees.

This was listed as a scenic view which had no scenery. The grass and Shrubbery were so overgrown that you cannot even see the valley below you which was supposed to be the main view for this particular stop over...

There is nothing to be seen here. No bathroom. But if you have packed food, there are few benches where you can relax and enjoy your food. You get a better view from the highway.

Odd. The view is. .. I was expecting a mountain landscape or something. Look at the pictures. That is all there is. Good spot just to get off traffic.

You cannot really see much off this view. Everything is kind of far away. The view off the highway is generally better than this area.

A few signs offer the history of what you look at from this vantage point. Could be a little more context or detail. The texts seem to assume a degree of underlying knowledge on the part of the visitor that is probably not there. Beyond that, the maintenance is poor. Cracks, weeds, high grass. Everything is just dull and dirty. Seems like the DO keep up with trash removal. The should freshen up the place and make it welcoming, or consider closing it.

Interesting american historic site with 3 information board overlooking the river banks where the battlefield took place. No amenities, only parking and a few bench. Unfortunately, vegetation has grown covering most of the lookout. And the hill is naturally not offering a great view. Good place to stretch legs or unwine for a few minutes of the highway

Nothing special. If you have your own travel pot or you need to stretch, good spot. Otherwise, drive on by...

Nice but couldnt see the scenic view from the walkway. You have to go into the high grass. The view has changed compare to the info and pictures displayed along the walkway, lots more trees. Still its a nice relaxing area to stretch and gain some knowledge about the area.

Its one of my favorite views in fall and winter. Foliage obscures the view of Frederick in spring and summer, but its still a nice place to stop if you need a break. Not sure how safe it is, though, so I wouldnt recommend that anyone go alone.
