Great history lessons along a beautiful hike. The trail goes near the river where kids can skip rocks and play in the water. The field is gorgeous in the morning and it is easy to imagine what the soldiers were experiencing.

We visited here for the monthly twilight hike in June, and we had a great time! The ranger leading the hike was knowledgeable, humorous, and understanding: He let people use their knowledge of the plants/history first before he would teach us. In other words, it was more interactive and far less condescending. The trail was short but full of floors and birds to see. Seeing the meadow at various light levels during sunset was interesting to behold.Definitely go on these hikes in the future!

Very nice park which has a raised foot bridge for a short walk to the river (ADA compliant). Plenty of room for dogs or kids to play. Easy access to the river (steep walk down embankment) very nice and peaceful.

Location is pretty but there is little information available on sight directing visitors to visitor center activities or sight historical info or if the building has any visitor hours .

A very historic structure used in the battle of Monacacy in July 1864. After the battle troops were taken here, where a field hospital had been set up. Today there is a boardwalk trail (the battlefields only boardwalk trail) that stretches around the small pond adjacent to the structure. Several informational signs depict the battle and the significance of the surroundings. There is a large parking area here and tables for a nice picnic...
