Lovely drive-thru experience at Whitnall Park! Tune your radio to the recommended station & be sure to check out the Drive-in just for the experience, if nothing else. What a fun, safe thing to do during Covid. Theres something for the entire family. We were glad we went when we did (last night) because itll likely get much more crowded as the holidays draw near. We had the flexibility of being able to get out of the car & take photos at our leisure. Well definitely be encouraging friends to go!

Can’t even say the COUNTLESS times I’ve frequented “the flower park” as we all used to call it, aka Whitnall, Boerner, Botanical Gardens. Amazed every time. Used to go there to walk amongst the tulips many moons ago & over the years have added hiking (so many paths), live music nights (not pandemic year of course), parties & the pavilions & picture taking spots, oh & of course traveling beer garden! All around my “happy place”!!!

This park is maintained and has a variety of ecosystems to admire. Meandering paths connect the little creek, woods, large pond with geese, and praire fields. The design helps to keep foot traffic separated from road traffic. Paths have raised walkways to help preserve nature from destruction due to foot traffic. Easy to park and to navigate once there.

Nice park renamed wehr nature center. The yellow trail is 1.75 miles all the way around the lake and back to the starting point. There are also side trails that all lead back to the main trail.

Beautiful park located on the south side of Milwaukee. Has wooded areas and picnic spots along with a nature center with many hiking trails. There is a wonderful botanical garden with walking paths to take you past fountains and statues while admiring and learning about flowers and plants. The park becomes a winter wonderland in winter for cross country skiing and golfing and bike riding in the summer.

Crown Jewel of Milwaukee Countys park system which includes Boerner Botanical Garden. There is something for everyone here from trails (walking, biking etc), picnic areas, playgrounds, fishing and much more. Every fall it showcases China Lights, a dazzling exhibit of light decorations, sculptures and learning sessions that has become a must for many families.

Spring has arrived at the gardens 2019 The kind and wounderful Milwaukee county park workers are out there working on the transition from Winter to Spring. If you have questions theyre willing to answer them about planting, feeding etc. The Gardens Park volunteers are out there also. But what is so fun is those little flower starting to pick up their heads from the Earth. The Tulip beds in the front of the building the side and the back area are all about 2 inches high So within the next two weeks we will most likely see the blossoms. The walking areas are dry. Come enjoy SPRING! The Gift Shop is open with all sorts of new products.

I went to see China Lights. It was outstanding. You can walk through it in about 30 minutes or so. But you should walk through it at dusk then again at dark.I recommend getting the groupon so you can enter the exhibit 30 minutes sooner. If walk during the day light you can see the garden as well. There is also food available to purchase. Dress warm though if it cool or cold out.

I love this park... unlike Waukesha county park system you don’t have to pay to enjoy a nice walk or even to see the garden. It’s hard to get in by hwy 100 due to all the road work at this time but is still worth going to. Take the kids but make sure you stay on the right trail.

Extreme disappointment. We go to China Lights every year and it is amazing. So when they were adding a holiday light show called Winter Wonders, we were very excited. Absolute garbage. Barely any displays. Some were nothing more than blow up decorations anyone can put in their front yard. Banks of strobe lights shining in your eyes. long sections of absolutely nothing. String lights just tossed onto tree branches. I reiterate - absolute garbage. We felt violated when we left. That they actually charged people for that mess was a theft upon the community.

By far the best park I have explored in Milwaukee County. Massive grounds with the Wehr Nature Center on the south end. There is a $3.50 parking fee for the nature center, but you can also park outside of the center and walk through the trails to get there. Many walks of wildlife including barred owls, coopers hawks, swallows, orioles, robins, and many more birds. There are some coyotes, and a high volume of whitetail deer. Theres a deer trail along the Whitnall Park Creek that you can walk along! Beware of the three damaged bridges here though, as I highly advise not traversing them!
