A 10 minute walk from downtown brings you to an entirely different world. Beautiful, peaceful, quiet except for the roar of the river. The bridge needs some maintenance for safetys sake but its been through a lot in its day and should be appreciated for its history and the (albeit brief) escape it provides
Great scenery on a beautiful Trail. Awesome river to kayak on.
So great I accidentally threw my phone off the bridge
Interesting short walk. It is NOT a traditional covered bridge, it is a strange and interesting railroad trestle. It isnt covered. Lots of history and factory ruins. Great info boards with old photos and maps along the trail.
Great walk to bring your kids on.
Not much left of the old relic. But it is history and is known as the upside-down covered bridge.
Interesting place to visit. Wish I had my camera with me!
Very nice trail to take your pups on just dont go alone
It is a wonderful place quite and you can draw and just sit and think.
It is a nice place to drink your coffee and feed chipmunks
Once called The upside down covered bridge because of the way the bottom was covered, in order to prevent water degradation on the supports. Until about the 80s or 90s when someone thought itd be fun idea to light it on fire. Thus giving us Franklins Sulphite Bridge.
Excellent historical site. Trail is paved and not too long in distance. Good for little ones, although you cannot cross the bridge once you arrive, viewing its mass structure in the woods is fascinating!
A huge piece of NH history. The sound of the river is so peaceful.
One of my favorite places to see natures beauty for what it really is
Bridge doesnt look like the picture more like abandoned railroad tracks. Trails to get to the tracks are amazing though with some really old ruins (steel mill maybe?) there. Looks like alot of homeless camps around the entrance with some really creepy Xmas decorations at the beginning but once you get past the trash be its great!
Beautiful walk.
Longer bridge little more of a challenge to photography but i walked down to the water end up getting great shot as well as shot of eagle eatting fish. Bridge is not use by train cars be careful when crossing on foot there was a fire sometime back. Little bit of a hike ti see park across tbe road and follow the walking path
Beautiful piece of history
The bridge was awesome to look at hard to imagine its been there for that long.
Sad to see the damage done!
