I’ve been skiing at this hill since I was a young girl. It’s a great local ski hill with amazing staff. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice family oriented hill
My wife and I took our 14 and 11 year old boys tubing, it was an awesome time! It was about 30F outside, little windy, we still worked up a sweat, all had a blast and wished we had gone sooner!! We saw kids as young as 3 years old tubing, so a good activity for all ages, and even when it was busy the waits were not long at all. Only have to be 36 tall to slide.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something fun to do with friends or family, especially when all the usual things are played out, or not as fun anymore, kids are hard to please sometimes, lol.
I went last year and Ryan and Riley did an excellent job showing me how to snow board by the end of the day I was able to do a 180 off the jump so pumped I’m about to buy a new snow board and membership!
Great hill! Great staff! Fun times!
We have driven past here SO MANY TIMES and never stopped until this last winter season. I took my daughter tubing for the first time and she could not get enough. The staff here are super nice and did their best to exceed my expectations when they could. I will be back and maybe next year we will try more then just the tubing hill!
I enjoyed tubing activity there. Enough 2 hours to enjoy this. No rental equipments such as boots. You can bring your own equipments, boots, and gloves. Workers were helpful. Sometimes I got bored because all of the trails has the same shape and level of difficulty. I think it would be more exciting if they have different designs for the routes. Belt get people back from the end to the top is so slow.
This place just keeps getting better! I’ve been riding this hill for the past 16 years and every year I come back I’m amazed with how well this place uses the area they have. They have friendly service, an amazing terrain park, and plenty of tubing lanes for those who don’t ski. 10/10 will be back
Tubing was good but not great. The angle was low, this kind of tubing is more for kids under 10. Also only 2 hr were allowed. Would rather go to Cascade tubing again, was more fun and entertaining
Great place to spend a couple hours with the kids. Our 5 yr old was going up and down by herself. Completely safe and lots of fun.
Best place ever. love to snowboard. wish they could make snow in summer and spring so i could snowboard all year
Awesome Place. Every employee is attentive and helpful. Most were teenagers—the most polite I’ve ever come across. Good food at reasonable prices. Helped my 5-year old grandchildren each time they went down the hill. From someone from Texas who doesn’t particularly like the cold and snow, I’m looking forward to my next visit
I lived to hours away, and I brought my own food. When I went into ask to use their microwave, one of their employees verbally harassed me and told me to get out. Very disappointed!
My 10 and 13 year old daughters did Learn to Turn on Tuesday. I cant say enough how friendly everyone was. Our instructor, Drew, was amazing. An icy storm came through and he was game until the end! All of the staff interacted with each other and the guests like they were old friends, making everything very comfortable. Great price for the experience, too!
It has come a long way since Crystal Ridge, in some ways. A great place for families and a safe environment for tubing. Staff was friendly and made conversation.Would be great if smoking was banned or had designated areas.Way-finding to the chalet could be enhanced, especially during construction and white out conditions. Edited after clarification of credit card malfunction, not normal operating practice.
Great place for tubing! My family loves it!
We brought out a large group from our church for snow tubing today with over 50 people! We had an excellent experience! The staff was polite and easy to work with! Shaunie helped coordinate our group and did a fantastic job! We will definitely return next year!
Went snow tubing...only dislike is when going down you go back up to get off and Im on the bigger side so its extra work but its a new year so who doesnt need it... LOL!
Much improved. The improvements over the previous years are night and day for the better. Good deal to combine ticket prices with the owners other operation of Little Switzerland in Slinger. Only 1 lift though. All new tow ropes for 2018. Rated 4 stars as there are few things that likely will be improved upon for next year. Great for Milwaukee area.
Ive been going to The Rock Snow Park for several years, and, although there isnt much acreage to work with, Little Switzerland has taken this place to the next level. The terrain is very comfortable and well groomed. Several different styles of runs. Lots of fun. One of the best parts is the staff - incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Cant say enough about them. Also, free wifi, so I can work while waiting for the my daughters to finish up - they just love it. Easy place to get your snowboarding fix. Also, they offer hourly (4 or 8) or daily or night tickets. Great for those of us who dont plan on spending all day on the slopes. I plan on going several more times this season. Great job.
I have to rate it a 5 star because of the good grooming and the attitude of all of the people that work there. The prices are RIGHT and it is great having one so close to home. This is the new owners first year, ( possession in November) and have done a great job. It will be even better next year. .
This was my second time tubing here. And unfortunately, the old course with just 3 lanes was a lot more fun. Now, the lanes are just straight, and very narrow. Also, even though they have 10 or so workers outside to help you get started and/or get off the tubes, they did not do anything but stand around and talk to each other....It was fun to get a group of friends together and do something different but we most likely will not return if they keep the course with these straight narrow lanes.
I am rating the skiing only, and i think if you factor in the proximity to Milwaukee, the price and have realistic expectations you will find the Rock to be worthy of a visit.I visited on a cold Friday and had the ski area to myself. The trails were well-groomed, not icy. There really only are two main runs aside from the snowboard park, and while one was blue and one was black, i didnt see much of a difference between the two. They were fun enough and good for getting some runs in as practice for larger resorts. I would say realisically you are skiing for 15-20 seconds. The view from the top was nice. Tubing appeared to be crowded. The drinks inside were reasonably priced and the bartender was friendly. This place is 15 minutes from Bay View and you can get a 4-hour lift ticket for a fraction of what you would pay at even nearby places. If you are close and dont have a whole day to waste driving and spending more, this place is good enough to get some cheap decent runs in. I will definitely return when i need some quick practice.
Trails are expertly groomed and enough acreage to make it an enjoyable day on the slopes. The tubing area is loads of fun and easy enough for young kids to participate in as well. The bar serves up delicious bloody Marys and the food in the cafeteria is tasty too, not to mention the entire staff is friendly and helpful. Kudos on all of the hard work and making it an enjoyable hill for all!
Ive been tubing here twice now and I will say I liked the old course better. The straight lanes are less exciting. It still is a good deal though, for $27 you get 4 drinks and two hours of tubing. Its fun to get a group of friends together and make a night of it. I suggest hitting up Ray & Dots beforehand.
We were first timers visiting WI, wanted kids to ski. being first timers we went in and got the rentals, that included everything needed for skiing. We asked if there were any trainers and they said you can ask anyone there on the slopes to help. so we rented them out and went on to the slopes and there was no one to ask for help. They also cheated on the rentals where we paid for the poles and never got them. As first timers we do not know lot of things. that does not mean we should be taken advantage of. i wanted my kids to have the fun experience instead it turned out to be painful.
FINALLY! People who know how to run a snow park. Conditions for early season and nearly 100% man made snow were great. I have been skiing at the Rock (formerly Crystal Ridge) for over 20 years, this is the best its ever been and it just opened. The Rock is not a huge hill but its enough to get it done. Cant wait to see what they do once mother nature plays nice.
Had passes last two years, unfortunately never had the chance to use it last year. Bought them for this year again. The improvements are great, making it very enjoyable for our entire family. My kids have been having a great time tubing and skiing. The staff is helpful and kind. Thanks for the great place for winter fun close by.
Glow Tubing was fun!
Their expert run had an amazing amount of fluffy snow after our storm with groomed areas still available.Im used to skiing groomed trails and decided to try the fresh powder which was thicker than I realized so my ski dug in and I had a pretty nasty fall. Ski patrol came by after a bit because I was very slow moving (injured my knee by hitting my ski edge during my fall) and asked if I was ok and if I needed a sled. I said no (shock and pride got in my way) and I made it to the bottom where I hung out cleaning out the masses of snow in my cloths. The same patrol person came by to check on me and said hed keep an eye on me.I really appreciated that he kept checking. My knee turned out to be very messed up so Im glad I left when I did. Im bummed that it happened, but super glad staff is competent and pushy when they should be (I just didnt listen)
Good place for few hours. They have a good bar.
Better than ever! At least better than the last 5 years or so. Now operated by a team of snow professionals. Good jumps, good snow, great cheese curds.
Went on a Wednesday night, pretty much had the two main runs and lift to myself. They are doing great things with what they have to work with. Nicely groomed.
First time here this year for snowboarding and I had a great time! They have a great beginners hill. Cant beat the price as well. Will definitely be coming back.1 year later and I still think this is a great beginner hill. I learned how to do my turns here. The snow tubbing is also very fun!
Tubing was fun love that place coming back soon
While they have a nice selection of beers, their beer lines are far too long and they dont seem to clean them, ever. Ruins what could have been a decent tap room.
A lot smaller than other snow parks, but it is waaaayyy cheaper for it. Since I am learning to snowboard, this is the way to go. I only paid $30 for admission and to rent equipment. There is no need to spend more on a chair lift, they have a free magic carpet (surveyor belt) to bring you to the top for free for the 2016-2017 season.
Good terrain park for a quick day trip
Not bad for where it is and if your not expecting mid state or UP skiing. Good for the novice.
Was impressed with the Staff, you could see they really enjoyed their job & very knowledgeable.
Excellent evening...warm bar abd friendly staff
Our instructor Andrew was amazing!
One chair lift and a couple runs. They do have a variety of jumps and rails to practice on, but the lift ticket is $30..a bit much for this little hill. They have a nice bar with a decent selection of beer backed by friendly bartenders.
The Schmitz brothers have done it again! They also own Little Switzerland in Slinger, WI and Nordic Mountain in Wild Rose, WI, both very successful in their own right, and have now added The Rock in Franklin, WI to their list. What great improvements they have made in just the short time they have owned it. I am amazed at how quickly they can convert the ski runs with their snow making capabilities. Those snow guns are fascinating to watch on the internet webcams. And this year has been a tough ski season and yet they have managed to keep the ski and tubing runs in great skiing condition. The ski runs are groomed daily so they are always fresh for skiing and boarding. You can watch their groomers out there on the webcams late at night after the park closes to skiers and tubers. Their tubing runs are fantastic and a lot of fun for all ages. My grand kids loved their time there and it is great tubing fun for Moms, Dads, and grandparents, too. A great way to spend a family evening or weekend day for all. The prices are very affordable and competitive to other ski parks in the area. The people in the rentals help you get the proper equipment to be sure you have a fun time. The pro shop has a lot of very nice and affordable items to purchase and we feel the merchandise is very high quality. The bar serves up a lot of tasty drinks (Bloody Marys are always a hit!) and great food choices on the menu, too. We found all of the staff in every department, both inside and outside, to be very friendly, helpful and truly interested in you having a lot of fun. I am excited to see what new changes are in store for the future. If you are looking for a great place to ski or tube, be sure to check out The New Rock Snowpark. You will not be disappointed!
They dont have nothing for little kids not even a hill they can use their sleds its not a family place they did have good hot chocolate I think if they had a hill for the little kids to play on they would get alot more business and people would come back and go with their friends they wanted me to send my 2 year old down on a tube by himself and charge me 16 dollars for him to go down
$30 for 4 hours of skiing is joke! Way over priced!
Idk
