This place was fun! If there is a wait its because its worth it.The horses were friendly and well trained. The staff are very professional and really keep up a good pace while still being courteous. If you go ask for Loren, her experience on a horse and easy going nature definitely put my partner at ease.P.s Also Im pretty sure she controls the weather if she likes you. The sun went away at the perfect time.
My boyfriend and I were the first to sign up and waited over an hour for the horses to take a break. Which wasnt really the case. There were at least 10 more people that signed up in that hour and it wouldve been nice to have an ETA and we couldve walked around & explored during that time. It is worth it to spend twice as much at a place that has more water for all of the horses, reservations, no cars or people everywhere, etc. I didnt see my boyfriend the entire time. My horse kept stopping to eat grass and seemed unhappy. I dont blame him, I would much rather go to a small ranch where they love the horses. Also they have 2 CHILDREN working there. They were around 10-12. We didnt even get pictures because it seemed like the experience was more about getting our money & getting us out. The overall experience was nerve racking and not worth it.
Not the best day for Guided rides. Not much said as we rode, other than Need yall to stay to this side, you should have had them fix your stirrup before we left, and dont hold your reins that way. I finally asked the guide to hold up for a minute because the saddle was sliding off my wifes fat mare and got off my mule, adjusted her saddle and stirrup and got back on..Did the 1 hour trip this time last year and it was great.Maybe just a bad night before for our guide this year.
Very friendly place. Definitely the Fort Worth experience. Be prepared to walk a lot. Some uneven brick paths could be a little tricky for those with wheelchairs or walkers. Petting zoo, mechanical bull ride, historical tours, shops & restaurants. Traffic & parking ($7-$10) can be tricky. Cattle drive down the street each day at 11:30 & 4. Family friendly.
Awesome place! Kids got to get on longhorn and really enjoyed the petting zoo. I wish we couldve stayed longer!
We came here on Thanksgiving day it was closed, came to just see a cattle drive, there is so much more to see and do here, shops, restaurants, horseback rides, a mechanical bull, will come back for sure
Omg my daughter had a blast for an hour ride out to see the city on horseback. She was so excited and couldnt wait until she can do it again.
We had been waiting all week to ride horses and finally made it out to the Stockyards (amidst all the Covid-19). To say we were disappointed is an understatement. You pay for a 10min ride, but end up with a 5 min ride. The worst is when you say ask that they honor the 10 min and receive rude and unprofessional customer service. Lauren who was assisting kids on and off the horses appeared frustrated that the young children didn’t know how to ride a horse. I asked or informed Lauren that it had not been 10 minutes and she responded with a terribly rude attitude. It was such a disappointment and the experience was less than what I would expect from an establishment. I felt awful for my kids who had been looking forward to the experience for some time. I believe that if you are in the industry providing experiences, then the level of customer service, should far exceed what was provided.
The kids horseback riding is great for young children!
For tourists and new residents. Its great to see the expression of peoplecwho have never been to that area of Fort Worth. Fun. A trip back in time. Great places to eat, shop, and buy some real cowboy boots. Oh beware it does smell like cattle. And dont forget to check out the cattle drive.
I hadnt been on a horse in 45 yrs. Everytime we visited the Stockyards, I would say.. we should take a ride.Well for my 51st bday, thats what I did.Grace, our guide was awsome. She took the time to let us meet our horses, and give us a refresher course. We took the 30 min ride and I had the best time. I definitely will be going again.I
It was a decent experience. Our horses were fine, our wrangler how ever is another thing. We paid for an hour, and only ride for 35/40 minutes. We got on the horses at 1:40 and we returned at 2:15. Our wrangler didn’t talk much other. Not sure if I want to do this again
Great time with the family watching the cattle run. I believe the times are 11am and 4pm if you want to catch the cattle runs with these beautiful group of steer coming through the stockyard.Great food and entertainment all around you. You can even walk through were the horses and cattle are houses to get a closer look. But dont get too close. LolAll in all a great place for the family to visit even if you are from out of town.
Very nice place to expend the day with family.
Its fun to go see peoples horses....HOWEVER, Please remember that these are peoples animals and they have to pay good money to keep a stable here. You mustnt let your child run all over the place, you or your child should not get too close to the stables. Be respectful of the owner of that animal.Think of it like this: you wouldnt walk up to a huge dog and just reach down to pet its face. You would make sure hes ok to pet first. Its the same respect for these horses.
Good place to go and kill time. Has pretty nice shops.
It was walking distance between the stores and restaurants. The people were friendly. It was just a good time.
This is a great place to take the family and walk around. There is lots of shopping, good food, and you even get to watch a cattle drive. They have cowboys who were the original outfits and you can even take a picture with them. There are long horns you can sit on and take a picture with for a small fee. This is just a fun place to spend a day.
Awesome place to just sight see. We were just driving around didnt stop or go in anywhere. Seen the Lonesome Dove restaurant, which is iconic, but caught on fire a few months back. Dont know if it is open back up.
Zero Stars for the horseback riding establishment: Bucked by a horse not even 10 minutes into the ride. Needless to say, my party of 3 ended our ride at this juncture to go to the ER. I was not offered a refund. When I requested one they would only refund the person thrown from the horse rather than refund us for the experience as a whole. I was not offered a helmet and am lucky I landed on the grass. Worker commented the horse would be spanked and ridden hard. I requested there be no ill will towards the animal. The horse seemed unhappy, tired, and hungry. The owner was present and did not come over to speak to me or even ask if I was OK; a very poor response to an unfortunate experience.
It was so fun
Definitely go see the cattle drive! Go walk the brick paved sidewalks, smell the amazing food and window-shop.
Definitely a must-see. The cattle drive is awesome but has downsized a lot. The gun show is cool but I also noticed it isnt near what it used to be. The parking used to be free but I noticed each day it literally gets more and more costly.
Great rides on good horses.
Great place to take the family. A Texas tradition that anyone would want to be a part of and everything seemed very reasonably priced.
Love the stockyards, like old west with lots of exhibits, restaurant, museums, plus the Long Horn run by Rickys BBQ everyday at 5pmKids love that.
Great place to visit a lot of historic event and beautiful show including live music in Billy Bobs fun for the whole family and the only place that I know where you can take pictures sitting in top off a Texas longhorn steer
Lots of fun. New shops to see. Loved the petting zoo. To see the horses is always great. A great place to have fun with the family.
Awesome great place to enjoy the Horseback riding.Petting zoo.is Awesome.
Kelsi was awesome! I would recommend the horseback riding! Plan to do it again on my next trip to Fort Worth! Thanks again Kelsi for a great horseback riding experience and great conversation!
Great value! 1 hour trail rides are perfect! We recommend to everyone! Friendly staff, beautiful horses, fast walk up service!
Kelsi and Sheri were amazing. Def recommend horse back riding on the trail. Staff was amazing. A+
I love it this place is amazing to take the family perfect to just go out and have some dinner enjoy the street or the little alleys that they have it has a lot of events for people and the community there is just so much from fairs to rodeos to dancing and food
Been living in Texas since 95 and never visited. Definite place to take family and out of town relatives, ensure you time it right to see the cattle drive.
Came to look at the petting zoo but it was closed. Ate at Riskys bbq. The meat was fatty and tough. The server was complaining with co workers about other co workers. Took a carriage ride. My driver raved about how great Trump was. Not a good thing to talk about on a ride especially when you dont know the other person.
It’s an amazing place to go ride very kid friendly Mandy is a great tour guide
Its neat to check out and the stores have a lot of Texan/Cowboy type stuff. Neat to check out and watch them walk the longhorns down the road.
Cattle drive gives you a sense of how it was then. They have a rodeo every weekend. Most bars have a local band and they are all very good. This is a must visit place when you are in Texas.
HUGE! This place has a very small bull riding event that happens inside. I lost count of how many bars there are. Theres a stage, then a stage behind the stage, a restaurant, and a store. They could rethink the bathroom situation, but still a whole lotta fun!
Amazing place, great help when needed. Great stalls for the animals as well.
Cool place to walk around and relax. Like to go in the little shops and also like to see what loval brews they are selling.
Good food, great people. I mean real people down to earth.
Excellent service and no lines if you go early. Loved the experience!
Love this place, so many bars and restaurants to chose from. Nice town to enjoy the weekend
I brought my daughter for her birthday and was not happy with the service at all. The lady that took us on the trail ride was on her phone almost the entire time. She kept stopping to text and look at her phone and even made a phone call at one point. This kept causing my horse to practically run into hers each time. I was concerned because theyre live animals and I felt, for safety reasons, she shouldve been watching us more closely. The owner was not there so I called when I got home and explained that I wasnt happy with the experience and what happened. I expected her to at least apologize and possibly offer to give me a discount on a future ride or something to compensate me for the situation but she didnt. Instead, she defended the employee and offered nothing. I have 4 more girls that I was planning on bringing next month but I will not be coming back.
Awesome history for all, great food and lots of shopping. Cattle drives are fun to see.
Seeing the Texas longhorns was awesome. If you dont get to see longhorns everyday this will certainly be a treat!
A Great place to spend some time if youre in the area.
Good food good people
Old vintage Fort Worth absolutely worth going to visit! My favorite was all the little shops at the end.
Loved coming here with my family. Dont even ride horses and had a great time with my kids!
So much fun and history. Hope to visit again one day!
Its a perfect place to feel, see and experience Texan living!
