We really enjoyed our recent stay at this campground. Its a tiny place and was pretty much filled to capacity. The sites are close together, but there are plenty of trees and it feels like a real campground, though it is in the middle of Fort Wayne. We were in site 5, and just so you can get a feel for the layout, site 5 backs up to a huge parking lot for the Arena and Expo center. It is visible from the site, but there is a grassy rise and nice sized wooden fence between the campground and the parking lot. We found the campground itself to be very quiet, but just beyond the Expo center parking lot is a main road and there must be a hospital nearby since we heard ambulance sirens frequently through the night (we have a pop up). The second night we turned the air on in the camper and that drowned out the sirens enough for us to sleep. Possibly the sites on the other side of the campground were a little bit quieter. Also, I didnt see any other reviewers mentioning this, so maybe you cant hear them in a regular RV. The bathroom is across a road from the camp sites, but it is mostly park and campground traffic so it is not a problem walking to it. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and nice and require a code to get in so that it is not open to the community. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would enjoy returning. The camp hosts were very friendly and the other campers were as well. It is very dog friendly with a nice dog park nearby (though you need to have papers showing that the dogs shots are up to date and it does cost to enter).
Town park located near Perdue U, in center of Fort Wayne, IN. $24 for non residents. Being in town it was very quiet. Not as many lights as I expected. Has a dump station, no cable yet 33 clear stations over the air. Would stay there again
This a lovely park right next to the St. Joseph River. There is a boat launch, a dog park, a playground, a ball field and is pedestrian and cyclist friendly. I enjoy bringing my dof Molly here for a nice walk and I take her to the boat launch so she can play in the river.
One of my favorite parks. Good fishing. I just love to be by the water. Kids love the open grass to run and roll down hill.
Nice quiet city park campground with electric and water services also a tank pumping be service. Beautiful park with access to Fort Waynes River Green Way.
After a Few Summers Staying in the Campground it is Time to say this is the Last One for Staying here. You get Pine now when you Purchas Firewood at the Campground out of Spite. One of the Two Teams that are Campground Host consist of an Angry Old Man who yells at you like a Sargent in the Army. I watched a Cob Web in the Shower House Grow all Summer in the Shower Stall that is 5 foot off the Floor. Stan & Candy treat everyone right which has been the Only Reason we kept returning. I am not the Only One that Complains. I hate leaving a Bad Review but will not Mislead others.
Nice campgrounds, dog park, childrens playground. On St. Marys River. Very near dining, entertainment and shopping.
Excellent facilities, good price, safe. Hosts always on site, available and ready to help. Not a resort so expect a campground. Trees, fire pits just a nice little campground right in town.
Great RV park with it. Such a nice area in Fort Wayne. Next to the colluseum but quiet.
Nice park along the river. Theres a nice bike path that goes along the river to downtown. Also a dog park here and a boat ramp.
A very nice RV camp site.- Close to the water and the University- Very quiet- Lots of biking/ walking trails- Very friendly staff
Beautiful in autumn with leaves blanketing the ground! Our return trip thru since summer and high on our list of preferred campgrounds!
Squeezed between a private property and the parking lot of expo center. Nice little memorial otherwise. Lower your expectations.
This is an absolute MUST for all Fort Wayne residents. This is really a Family tradition for most everyone. Its a trip back in time. Abraham Lincoln walks around with the soldiers marching in time as the every day folks sell their Gorgeous hand crafted wares to the commoners. The Indians and mountain men with all their animal skins come out for this once a festival to pay homage to Johnny Appleseed. We love to go and see everyone & everything at this amazing festival!!! ITS A MUST VISIT!!!
Small, but with all necessary amenities... restrooms, laundry, campsites for tents, campers or RVs. Clean, and quiet (considering its in the middle of the city) with nearby scenic views alongside the river.
Very nice place. Cute dog park. The campground has nice employees, and its well maintained. The gravesite for Johnny Appleseed is within walking distance of the campground.
Dog park is nice, nice view of the waterfall off the dam, other than that, its not much of a park, mostly an RV park, cant use bathroom there, the whole park is a placeholder for the Johnny AppleSeed festival.
This is a nice clean park and memorial to a great man. Thank you Fort Wayne for maintaining this national monument.
It was convenient for our travels through the area.
A wonderful RV campground! Its right in the middle of the city but encased in a tranquil park with the St. Joseph river right at your back door. The shower facilities are clean and roomy, the staff is friendly and the sites are spacious and surrounded by large lovely trees. The dog park across the street is for members only but never you mind! My dog had a wonderful time splashing around in the river and running around the open fields around the park. Well definitely be staying here again when we return to Fort Wayne.
Great centrally located city park. One of my go to parks for a few minute break on lunch.
Super clean barhrooms and great location.
Quiet and family oriented safe place to roam. Next to the campgrounds
Great park and campground. Well maintained
Went for the Johnny Appleseed festival. So much fun, and so much food!! Im gluten and dairy free but found plenty of popcorn (check out the Boy Scouts caramel corn!), lemonade, gluten-free bbq pork, and turkey hot dogs (without the bun). The Lions club booths have the cheapest food and drinks. Plenty of vendors for shopping and window shopping. We bought three soaps, two lip balms, and body powder from one booth for $20, and I got a 5-item grab bag of antique jewelry for $5. The bagpipers and drummers bring the old-fashioned festival atmosphere together.
Nice little park, it’s nice to walk along the river, even if it is nasty. Always love the Johnny Appleseed festival every year here as well! Always clean, a surprising amount of people fishing in the river, catching some weird mutated fish. And the dog park is cool as well, never personally brought my dog but looks nice.
Having grown up within walking distance of the grave of Johnny Appleseed can attest that the site is essentially unchanged. To think of the legend of the man planting apple trees throughout the valley is so encouraging for growth and spirit. Surroundings fairly tranquil, river nearby. Id stop if passing by hwy 30 famous unto itself.
I have been going to the Johnny Appleseed festival for 6 years now. I love it. My favorite vendors are always there the fair grounds are always well managed. The rootbeer is always cold, the Indiana Maple syrup is always delicious, and everyone is very friendly.
Great festival, a lot of neat homemade items for sale, arts and crafts, the sassafras style root beer was amazing. Lots of choices for foods prepared old school style over fires or in huge kettles over a fire. First time Ive ever been.
This is a nice campground. It has always been nice but now it is even nicer. You need to call for reservation because the stay busy.
Interesting landmark, nice walk.
The best is the Johnny Appleseed Festival in Johnny Appleseed Park. Needs new picnic tables. Lets be the best in Fort Wayne and not appear so needy. Watch out for splinters but have fun while doing so.
Nice trails along river
Very nice place to camp
Johnny Appleseed Festival. Nicely laid out. Lots of food vendors. A few interesting items to be had. Always very busy which is both to their credit and detriment.
Lot of history, good camping.
So, Ive been coming to the Johnny Appleseed Festival for about 4 years now. My sister lives in Fort Wayne, & she knows the best way to get there. It was very crowded very quickly this year. They have entertainment, numerous food & craft booths. Theres a kid area & a pioneer area. The grounds are very nice. The grave for Johnny is up on a hill. You can throw an apple on it. I just realized this year that this park has a campground! It would be a nice spot to camp, but I dont think they have showers.
Had an excellent time. Good food and the trappers area is always a favorite area to browse. Can someone say Root Beer and Carmel Apples.
Beautiful & quiet
Nice campground in the heart of Fort Wayne!
The nicest cleanest and happiest place in Ft. Wayne
Johnne Appleseed Festival is great for all ages!
I love taking my friend to the park every year. We like the food the history.
Nice place to go with your K9
Jonny appleseed festival has good food
Great small city park RV park. Lots of mature trees and access to Fort Wayne.
Beautiful place
Kinda disappointed there were not more kid activities. But everything else was great. Too hot for me today tho
Such a peaceful place to visit.
Nice place to go to
Great during festival time. Amazing food. Probably hard to get around during busy times.
The park is close to us. We take our dog there to get wet in the river. Then we take a walk for squirrels and woodchucks. She loves to get down as far as she can go in the holes.
One of the best campgrounds ive stayed at hands down. Youre close to everything but you feel like youre in the woods. Local dog park and bike trails as well makes this a very well rounded campground.
It was packed with people, but we had a great timeGot Carmel corn and an apple dumpling
I am in the campground part of Johnny apple seed park its really nice place w/d privet shower, dog park or theres great place to walk them ...you have fishing, bike riding, walking can watch the baseball game of local teams
Easy access especially for the festival! Gorgeous green area by Coliseum, rivers, and IPFW campus.
Dog park is great, just be sure to get a membership before you go. The Johnny Appleseed festival is here every year and draws thousands of people to the area.
Nice park. Wooded spots with generous spacing, great wifi. Depending on your space you may have to run a long hose for water. No sewer but they have a pumper for $10.
One of my favorite places in fort Wayne! And Johnny Appleseed fest has become our favorite event of the year! Lovely place to walk or bike or picnic.
Full of history very beautiful place for a first date if you agree to go on a walk .
So far quite a nice little spot for our bella bear and her siblings in the van house
It was nice walking around. The smells of the food was good. Kinda pricy though.
Nice variety of crafts, art, and food. It is always really crowded but you can navigate pretty easily.
Nice park. Wooded spots with generous spacing, great wifi. Depending on your space you may have to run a long hose for water.
Awesome park, love the festival except prices are to high for the food stuff. use to be reasonable now its not.
Nice little campground. Very nice bathrooms and showers
Love Johnny appleseed festival. Great crafts, great food, beautiful park, great kids area.
Always a good time! Rough to get around with a wheelchair or stroller/wagon, but not impossible. Just alot of people you may want to run over (j/k lol) If you have a wheel chair I suggest a motorized one there
Nice level gravel pads. Clean showers and restrooms. Great access to bike trails.
Great campground. Quiet and close to bike trail that runs to downtown.
Great time walking around seeing/talking to the demonstrators and vendors. Youll be able to find something to eat that youll like. The dessert items (apple cobbler & of course, caramel apples) are great. Its a very family friendly event.
Fort Wayne prides itself on being the resting place of Johnny Appleseed. This park is where he is laid to rest. Just up a small hill, youll find his gravesite. If youre in Fort Wayne for the Fall, dont miss the Johnny Appleseed Festival that takes place in this park. One of my favorite Fort Wayne festivals.
Love the festival, but needs to be longer so its not so crowded
Here for the Johnny Appleseed Festival. It is a beautiful park, great places to watch wildlife near the water.
Very primitive poorly marked Stone an asphalt driveway they need to replace the identifying signage in Google needs to not tell you to go through the RV park to get to it as the entrance is actually on the north side of the park please be sure to approach from the West it is the second or third turn to the right once you cross the river look for a small brown very faded sign the actual site when you drive into the far point and flip the loop will be on your right hand side almost as your exiting the farpoint up on the hill surrounded by apple trees there are several tombstones up there
Very cool little park.
Nice place for a festival. Great music and good too.
Sweet park
Pretty dope ngl
Had fun with the family today. Beautiful day to walk Johnny Appleseed.
Fantastic campground. Amazing campground hosts. Friendly, clean, beautiful surroundings. Full amenities.
Hard to find, but very unique roadside attraction to see.

Nice place
The Johnny Appleseed festival was quite interesting. It was well worth seeing. Our kids enjoyed seeing the firing of the cannons; the food was good; and there were a ton of vendors selling old-ish things. It was very hot, and the kids did get restless toward the end of our visit (or was it the end of our visit because of restless kids??), but I think we will try to go again.
Kids loved it, good food fun for all ages, very busy place
Beautiful park, love it during the festival as well. But well worth the walk to it from the river trail. Even the dam has a nice spot to sit and watch the water. The dog park is a brilliant addition!
Very nice campground, with electric and water sites under lots of trees. Fee 22.-- a night!
Extremely clean RV park. Best place to stay in Ft Wayne.
Great place to take the family and step back in time!
