The Headwaters Park is becoming a nice place to go for entertainment for children and adults. Water works was a fun place to cool off.. probably a dangerous place for accidents with the giant big sharp edge boulders.. But still a fun place.Childrens playground was very small and the rubber grind cover was hot hot hot. The metal slides and playground equipment was hot and would possibly burn a child. Although the toys there are fun ones and some different ones parents must be present to assure a child is safe.

Actually, I was at Promenade park. On August 10th, 2019. The newly opened Promenade Park was introduced to the public. One of a three phases to more are in the works bei g added to Promande Park. The first fast is well thought out, accessible for everyone, including the disabled and the blind. This park is by far very well thought out for all ages to enjoy. It includes a variety of things such as a garden to walk through, a water and stone feature for children to splash in. Adult bench swings down by the river. Adult beverage and cafe on the premises. An elevated trail above the river greenway over looking the river and the promenade, a childrens playground. A double stage for bands to play on.

October is an incredibly beautiful month for a picnic in Headwaters Park. The trees are breathtaking and the weather in Fort Wayne can still reach 69 or 70. There werent very many people in the park so it felt like a secluded autumn fairyland. My daughter and her husband got engaged on that same bridge 2 years ago and spending the afternoon with their new baby was a perfect afternoon. On the north end of downtown, Headwaters Park is the gateway to downtown. Theres so much room to play and run through the park, even in autumn.

Fort Wayne has really upgraded with the addition of Promenade Park. River front development is making some good progress. The park offers good flow a many activities. Some activities cost, like the bar & grill, boat rides, and boat rentals. Some are free hiking, wading in the man made stream, playing ping pong, foosball, and corn hole.Saturday was a good experience.

Headwater Park is a great place to go with your family or friends. During the summer there is always something going on wheather its our annual Three Rivers Festival, Greek Festival, Mexican American Festival, Labor Union parties, Wedding events and guest speakers who campaign when they are running for office. Also there are all kinds of statues honoring Fort Wayne people. It also connects to the Fort thats across the river and takes you back in time. Sometimes they have reanactments there. Plus toward the North is our famous Martin Luther King Jr Bridge which is so beautiful and has inspirations written on the bridge and at night it is lighted with colors that change constantly. Our Rivers are making progress as well too. Now during the winter our pavilion in Headwaters Park is utilized with a skating ring. The reason I gave it a 4 star is because there is a jail right next to the park.

The new Promenade Park is beautiful and perfect for the whole family. There is a playground with some sort of padded ground cover on the north bank if the river that has a lot of fun equipment. There is an area where you can rent kayaks on the north bank as well. On the south bank is an area with fun for the whole family including corn hole, ping pong and other games, bench swings, and a fountain the kids can splash around in. There is also ample room for picnics. There is a restaurant on site, too, but I havent checked it out. Its also a great place for hiding and finding painted kindness rocks hidden by members of the Facebook group Fort Wayne Rocks.

Plenty of places to walk and we even took our Grandson to a macaroni and cheese festival there. We tried all of the different dishes and voted for our favourite. We had a great time, then tried to walk off all of the tasting we did. Try this park, its beautiful, and fun!

A beautiful park! Headwaters has many sidewalks that wind through the park, making it an excellent place to walk or run. There are great river views, including bridges that cross the river, and fantastic landscaping. In the summer there are often festivals held here, which usually feature music, food, and other entertainment. There is a splash pad that is great for kids to play in, and when its not in use it just looks like a pretty fountain. In the winter there is an outdoor ice skating rink that is really affordable to use. If you like seeing well-landscaped grounds, enjoy river views, or want someplace beautiful and safe to walk or run, Headwaters is a great place.
