Beautiful place in the middle of town. If you take the trail on the northeast side of the lake to the Arkansas River, you feel like you are miles away from civilization. Use caution near the river and I would not recommend hiking alone. The trail itself is easy. I seen no signs of danger, I just had an uneasy feeling while hiking back there. Very dense foilage. The trail is wide in most spots and easy to follow.

Its quiet and spacious. Several different pic nic tables for family enjoyment. You can even do a little fishing. Lots of geese. I only wish the bathrooms were open. There is no charge for admittance to the park.

One of the few parks in F/S where the playground equipment is accessible. No public restrooms though. The park is well groomed and policed often. A great place to eat a happy meal and let the kids have a little fun.

A very warm day, but cool under some of the shade of the beautiful trees. Wasnt crowed, peaceful and very beautiful place to have a nice picnic lunch with my elderly dad. Use to take my small granddaughter there to play, but she is 17 now. Use to eat under the trees with my now deceased mom. So its a family place to me. Can fish too. Love it.

Beautiful park with walking trails. Places for the kids to play. Docks to fish and see the ducks. Its a large enough park that even if the parking lot is full there is still plenty of room for your family to enjoy the park. Also the walking trails are really nice this time of year with the leave changing.

Everything you may be looking for. Peaceful tranquility out on the dock over the cooling water or fun for everyone with well-designed and creative playgrounds. Both easily access and off the beaten Trail covered seating. Safe and convenient walking trail this is the Great Park.

The new remodeling structures around the water destroyed the bass fishing. They kept plenty 2-3 lb on the regular.. Now its completely demolished the game, Of a good healthy large mouth bass habitat.. You dont deserve that star..

Carol Ann is a beautiful park with a great walking trail you can either walk around the pond or hike through the woods, the play ground is great one thing I love is the wheel chair accessible swing I think that should be in every park! This is my go to park if you chose to go on the hike you can see nature of all kinds here is a beautiful snake, you can also see lots of birds and deer

I fish this place for largemouth pretty often it produces good fish and is a fun lake to fish.

Clean and pleasant everytime, since I was a child. I fish as often as I can, but 25 years, Ive never brought a fish to land.

Carol Ann cross park is a wonderful city park that is well maintained and has several fun things to do. They have numerous covered picnic tables and large gazebos. Most are accompanied by rock built grills. The have a decent sized man made lake that has been stocked with multiple fish species. Fishing is aloud. Behind the lake they have walking trails that will take you all the way to the river and opens out on a picnic area right on the river. A very large playground tops it all off. If you are seeking a bonus treat if you walk into the spillway tunnel from the lake all the way under it, you will arrive at a magical treat.

Great pathway, several pavilions and a large playground. Bathrooms werent open (assuming as a pandemic precaution) but otherwise a lovely experience.

It was a very tranquil place. Lots of fun to see how nature interact.

Didnt catch any fish this time but a magnificent park and gorgious view. Watch for them snakes though!!!

Sadly so many visitors (fishmen) liter the park. Plastic bottles, worm boxes, and plastic bags. At a minimum 4 bags of trash are picked up twice a week by local residents. Shame on you. City could help with more anti liter signage.

Im so proud of Fort Smith and its parks. Carol Ann Cross Park had matured beautifully over the years. It is well maintained and is the site of fishing tournament for kids, many family celebrations, friendly get-together and daily runners and walkers.Well done, Ft. Smith.

Nice park, clean and well kept. My reason for just 4 stars is the walking trail. Most of the year it is great, but during the summer there is not enough cover and it gets way to hot.

My kids really like this park. There is a pond with a small dock, a walking trail, and gazebos in different areas around the park. The only thing I had issues with were the restrooms.

Fantastic Park!! Beautiful Peaceful & Calming to be there. Took a chair, read a book & watched a friend fish for Catfish.The geese were all over the pond & grounds. Such fun!!

Very pretty and well maintained. The path around the park is great for walking and running and the lake is spacious enough for plenty of fishing or bringing it your kayak to do laps.

Well it really needs to be mowed. The up keep has declined in the past couple years.

Very pretty. Clean for the most part. Nice to take the kids to. There is a small playground and a little lake you can fish in. There are little picnic areas all around to have a lunch. Nice place, we enjoyed it. My daughter got chased by a goose which she thought was hilarious.

This park has a scenic lake with a covered fishing dock. Ive fished the lake since I was a young boy, and brought home quite a few catfish over the years.There​ are several pavilions with lots of space & seating. Its a great place for families or clubs to meet. My wife and I were married there and I performed my daughters marriage ceremony under one of those pavilions too.There is a playground for the kids with slides and swings and such, and there is a bathroom. There is a paved track that circles the lake for walking, jogging or running.

Ive grown up in Fort Smith half wall growing up went to Carol Ann Cross Park all the time to go fishing with my uncle and my father and we would catch so many fish I myself go down there with my kids and we dont catch anything the water is so nasty around the shoreline what Shoreline there is and not a bunch of stones built up like a wall. They say they Stock It with Fish but I havent seen a fish there in a long time what is the deal

We love this park. There is a playground the lake with many ducks tons of parking and trails. I dont recommend taking yrails after dark. We totally walked circles on Easter lol. We had a blast though. This park also has raised pits for BBQs.
