Sadly the waterfall was dry during the summer. Lots of greenery and very pretty. Easy hike. Good for kids. If you want more of a challenge go all the way up to horsetooth rock. Also very pretty moon hike.

The hike to the falls is pretty mild, but the paths are very narrow. The falls was very crowded on the weekend, hard to find a spot to sit and enjoy, but definitely a cool view. There are plenty of other trails very close making it a great destination to go and hike for the day. Parking was pretty crowded but we were able to find a spot on the first pass.

Great trail for little ones. Ups and downs both ways. The falls are a refreshing treat at the mid-point of this out and back trail. Early July 2020 the falls were a trickle, but still falling. A nice spot to cool off and soak your hat for the hike back. Not a very shady trail, so bring water on a hot day even on this shorter trail. In the early morning youre almost guaranteed to see some mule deer and maybe a skunk. In the afternoon lots of raptors circling overhead looking for lunch: redtail hawks and turkey vultures.

The hike was short and easy. About 2.5 miles round trip. The views were nice; however, the falls were dried up.

A nice hike on a curving path with views of the mountains surrounding the area. The walk was very relaxing and easy to do. However, the path has some very rocky spots and some big rock steps near the falls so good shoes are necessary. Also, it’s a very cute and fun area but don’t expect a huge, flowing waterfall like I did

Wife broke her foot on this trail but it is still a family favorite. The views from the bottom of the falls and the top are both beautiful in there own ways. And the bottom of the falls has always been cool even in the sweltering heat of the summer with or without water flowing.

Challenging for a first time, getting-back-in-shape hiker but still very doable. The coolness of a dip in the water is a great reward! Suggestions for next time: walking sticks, bug spray and arrive earlier. For others, if its a hot day leave your fur baby at home! So many were overheating and collapsing on the side of the trail.

Very beautiful, but very steep in some places! If you arent an avid hiker, you might need to stop a few times to catch your breath! Parking was so full! Had to circle a few times to wait for people to leave just to get a spot. Trail was clean and getting a parking pass was very easy, but they only take credit cards!

Im sure this area is stunning when there is water! I was a bit bummed to get to the area where the falls typically are, only to find they had dried up! The hike to the falls was enjoyable, a good workout. Lots of people on this trail. Good for kids, a bit steep in some parts but with breaks and encouragement they can get there!

Very cute park. Lots and lots of trails. We took the shortest one which was just over a mile, one- way. It felt longer since it was a moderate climb but ended in a beautiful waterfall and adorable little pond. Would be a wonderful trip for a warm day and picnic.

Pretty! Cold water. Fun hike; it does get a little narrow at some points, so when the trail is busy that can be a bit of a challenge.

A mostly easy hike to a nice falls. The first 2/3 of the hike (2.4 miles rount trip) is gentle, the last 1/3 is a bit more difficult, but with little elevation gain. The signage is very minimal, but path is straightforward. Theres also an option to connect with the Spring Creek trail near the falls rather than taking the incoming Falls trail back to the parking lot.

Easy short hike to a small waterfall nestled in the surrounding trails. The waterfall was flowing with the recent week of rain and we were surprised to find the trails were not muddy. A great mile hike to the falls and back for a quick break in nature for an hour or two. Would be a kid friendly hike.

We went for Mothers day 2019. The falls were flowing perfect. It was a stretch for our 3yr old, but there were lots of other small children trying too! A little crowded, but the small controlled parking lot helps a bit with traffic numbers.

Ba
Review №65

Great hiking options and easy for our kiddos but depending on what time of year you go the falls may or may not have water flowing down them. The falls rely on the snowpack and later on in the summer or even in the fall season there is not enough snow left in the snowpack to sustain the water in the creek.

Google maps GPS information is incorrect in using Irene Way off of Shoreline Dr to direct people to Horsetooth Falls. There is no access. These roads are steep and privately maintained. If you are not a resident you will be ticketed and may get stuck attempting the hill.
