They have a variety of products, but theyre selection isnt for everyone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do have a dog, a very nice dog. Its not a bad location if youre in the fort Collins area.
Love being at Lambspun! This is a place where everybody knows your name. Staff and regulars are extremely helpful. They dont push their products on you and give great discounts when warranted. Its a great place to go and hobby and hide from reality for a bit.
I really dont know much about wool, yarn or thread but my wife does & she was looking for help with a chrochet project. The ladies were very nice & helped my wife find the three she was looking for. I have followed my wife through many shops selling yarn & thread and this is the best.
This is a where everybody knows your name place. Helpful people, both the patrons and the employed.
I was very impressed with Lambspun during our visit. They have very helpful people who are very knowledgeable in their trade. My wife found some great yarn and was taught but an great instructor. Also, they have inspired me to learn a new skill in weaving.
Best knitting store in Fort Collins. Very welcoming atmosphere.
Lambspun is a uniquely creative safe haven with the most amazing staff and clients ever!!
This yarn shop is one of the coziest places in Fort Collins. The staff are so knowledgeable and helpful if you need advice on your latest project or are brand new to knitting.
So why would I want to give my hard earned money to a business that isnt just overpriced but is staffed by some extraordinarily rude women? Recently I watched them treat a blind woman trying to find a product, in the most horrid way possible. Not only was I made uncomfortable by the whole scene, the blind woman was clearly very hurt. It made me really ask myself why I continue to go to this shop. I remembered so many times over the years when I was also treated with disrespect, and given incredible attitude when asking truly honest and basic questions about products or classes or the availability of an out of stock item. I shant be back to this crowded, overpriced shop that is clearly being run by pretentious cows.
This place is absolutely amazing! Everything I expected and oh so much more. The hand dyed yarns and fibers alone make it worth the trip. Add in the incredibly friendly and helpful staff along with lots of locally sourced artisan items and you have an experience you will not soon forget. Nevermind wherever you thought you were taking you next vacation and head to Fort Collins, CO and Lambspun instead. You wont regret it.
Fantastic selection of yarns, fiber, spinning wheels and spindles, looms,, and such... Love the Cafe, and they will bring your food to the table in the yarn shop..
Fabulous yarn choices with knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend for all fiber art folks.
Nice people and tons of stuff
Quaint little place. Lovely
My wife loves. Nice selection plus a restaurant connected
Although there were quite a few people in the store, not a single person asked to help me... And I needed assistance!
I always find things I cant live without! I love this store and come down from Laramie when I can to shop!
A great place to get help with a project and socialize with fellow knitters. The staff knows fibers, knitting techniques, and how to make you feel at home! The attached cafe at Lambspun makes it an easy to spend the entire day knitting, having lunch and socializing.
The store is chock full of all things yarn. Whether youre a knitter, crocheter, spinner or weaver, theres something here for you. That being said, the yarn and yarn related supplies are merchandised in a disorganized and confusing way. The employees seem to know what you need or want before you do, because I couldnt get a complete sentence out before I was interrupted. I bought 2 hanks of pricey yarn and a few other things before heading home. I experienced trouble with one of the yarns when I tried to use it to knit. It was a Lambspun yarn, which they make. Emailed them my concern and received no reply. Two days later, I called and spoke with the owner. She was rude and defensive right from the beginning, and defensive about the yarn. So much for customer service. I will never shop here again.
Not only great store by simply a great place to relax and knit/crochet/weave. Its attached to a cafe too so you can easily stay for hours and never leave
Very cute yarn shop!
Nice store. Whenever you think youve explored all the rooms, you find another!
Honestly I did not enter the store, but my wife did. While I sat in the car, she spent an hour in there and returned with a huge grin on her face (along with a bag of purchased items). Apparently there are books written about this place and she said it was just like in the books. Spouses of knitters/crocheters/spinners, I feel for you. If you let your significant other go in, you may not see them again... Consider yourself warned. At least make sure you crack a window and bring snacks and something to read.
I LOVE this store and the people there. I am from Louisiana and visited in Ft. Collins with family. I have had a fascination with weaving since making childhood potholders. Shirley was so helpful in choosing the right loom and yarns to help me get started. Since I live so far away, there have been several phone lessons and she has been so gracious, knowledgeable and patient. She even suggested ways that I could get started with minimal cost - not like your typical store owner who just wants to make a sell. Living in the South, wool is not always our best option and Shirley showed me many fibers that would work for me. I cant say enough good about Lambspun.
A place I go that almost every one knows me. Plenty of colorful yarn, roving, looms, spindles, spinning wheel s, knitting needles, crochet hooks, pretty much what any fiber artist or beginner needs. Classes too.
Delightful place!
Love love love this wonderful store!!
Always a great place to stop. Nice people and a good selection.
After reading Maggie seftons books I had to see Lambspun for myself. Its everything I hoped for and the cafe is wonderful.
I loved everything about this place. Every room was a new adventure. So much to take in in so little time.
Beautiful selections. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Tons of pattern choices.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Great place to work at! Amazing selection in knitting, weaving, crocheting, spinning, felting,...
This is an adorable little shop in a historic house in Fort Collins. Its a feast for the eyes and touch. They have their own lines of hand-dyed yarns and those are some of my favorites to purchase there--they are truly gorgeous blends with very tasteful and beautiful colors. Although Im not a weaver they also carry weaving products and hold classes for that in addition to their knitting classes. However, there are some downfalls which make it not my first go-to store. 1) The yarns are placed so mish-mash that its hard to find any rhyme or reason to how theyre displayed. On the one hand this makes it fun to just keep wandering and wandering through each room (remember this was an old house so as a house would be, this store is divided into several rooms); on the other hand it makes it hard to find a flow to the shopping experience. 2) The staff, as Ive found in most knit shops for some reason, can be a little off. Not necessarily unfriendly, just a little...unsmiley...or something. I think this has gotten much better as of late. Beware though that just because someone works in a knit shop, they may not know as much as you or be able to help. One day I specifically went in looking for a lace weight merino yarn with at least 50% silk, in a light brown color to match another yarn Id be doubling it with for a project. The silk part was very important due to the drape this pattern required. I specifically made all this clear to the woman who offered to help me and she just kept drawing me over to yarns that were either 100% merino, or not even lace weight, or nowhere near the color Id brought in to attempt a match. She just didnt seem that knowledgeable on their inventory, which is odd because shes there almost every time I go in. I was trying to not be rude and to stay thankful for her efforts, but it just made the already longer than necessary (due to the way the store and yarns are organized) shopping outing even more tedious, because now not only was I being taken away from my own shopping, but now I had to monitor my reactions and try to be tactful in my responses to her completely wrong pickings, while repeatedly expressing how important this very specific yarn specification was that I was looking for. (I had originally found the perfect yarn online but was wanting to support a LYS so headed over there first to see if by chance I could find something there.) Anyway...the point is, I dont want to have to be taking care of staff when I go to a store. :-/ But then again, I kinda know a crazy ton about yarn and all the brands etc as Im a total yarn nerd, so its probably the rare customer who out-knowledges the staff. :-) 3) The lighting could be better in places.Overall, this store is a joy to shop in, and its a cute cozy location. I think if it were to work on organization and lighting, it would be top-notch.
So much fiber! Visual & tactile overload!
Very helpful and knowledgeable
Love it!
Wonderful, the best place for visiti.
