This could be confusing to some, Tenant Lake Park has two entrances, one from Ferndale off main st, the other off the Slater Rd. Can drive right to it from the main entrance, car top boat launch and parking for duck hunting. Small boat only, blinds are only accessible by boat. Will need to walk boat under the bridge if water is high. The parking lot off Slater Rd is a bit of a walk in, if youre hunting ducks do not take this path, we were given directions to this entrance from the wdfw website and had to pack all our gear in. For a nice walk around the river the Slater Rd entrance is good. Ive only been here to hunt ducks.
Tennant Lake Park is a fun park near the Hovander Homestead Park. Once you park, youll walk through an herb and flower garden alongside a historic home now visitor center. Then youll see a 50-feet observation deck thats fun to get a view of the park. Then follow the trails through the wetland boardwalk enjoying the marshes and looking for birds, frogs and turtles. It was a fun little hike for our whole family!
Fine trail for walking. Gravel, Maintained well.
Beautiful space and well maintained.
I love the off leash dog area. My lab loves to swim in the river there. Coming from Slater Rd theres no dog poop bags or garbage can. So bring your own bags and pack it out if you walk from that direction.
Went for Duck Hunting, the blind maps are terrible, never found blind #1. If youve been out here a few times with a boat it is probably pretty great. Lot of ducks flying.
Love the boardwalk. I have ever since I was a kid! I can almost guarantee that its underwater now though.
Beautiful scenery never to crowded and only good vibes
Beautiful fall.Love my native heritage
Its very beautiful, saw ducks, and frogs and a heron.
This is the most unique public garden you will ever find - people are encouraged to touch, rub, and smell the plants. Signs are in braille for the blind. For a really great experience, start here, enjoy a picnic, and then walk to Hovander - or vice versa
We love coming here to go for a walk and to roam through the fragrance garden. The garden is beautifully maintained and smells marvelous. The various colors and wide varieties of plants make it fun for all ages. There are benches (most in shade) where you can sit and enjoy. The paved path is wide and level, easy to get around. The views are spectacular, too. One of my favorite places in Whatcom County. So beautiful, almost any time of the year.
Great space to keep clean and be natural.
Well kept grounds
Great place, calm place too play
Always a nice place for a walk.
This park is absolutely beautiful.
My toddlers and I had a great time at the fragrance garden, tower, & trail. It was very well kept & short enough that my little ones were able to explore almost all of it on their own.
Tennant Lake is unusual in that it has no shore. Water lilies give way to cattails to willows in shallow water and very gradually to solid ground, so at no point can you say the lake ends here and land begins here.Great for stomping around in rubber boots or wading shoes.
Absolutely love this place. Lots of good memories and more to be had here.
Nice fragrance garden and pet free path to boardwalk over swamp area with frogs, birds and insects to watch
My dog likes it
Grate place to take your dogs!
Great walk lots of blackberries to pick along the trail
Beautiful board walk. A must see for a nice stroll in Ferndale!
Lovely low key garden. Nice boardwalk.
Lots to explore plus a cool interpretive boardwalk
Nice little local park.
