I love this park! Its got a great variety of trail types, from wide open & easy to advanced, narrow single track. Its easy to find a spot for beautiful views & great photos. There are always a lot of cyclists out so runners & hikers need to stay vigilant. The parking lot has about 15 spaces. It costs $3/day, or $19 for a 6-month pass (for an individual resident of Fairfield. Prices vary for groups & non-residents, but not much). If theres no parking in the lot, theres plenty of parking along the road. Its free and totally legal, so long as you stay on the park side of the road. The road across the street is blocked to parking.
Nice place to go for an easy hike. Dogs have to stay on leash. Great views from hilltops.
History and pretty views make for a must visit spot if you are in the city. If youre a fan of Full House then its even more so worth your time.
Awesome location to go for a hike or even do a little mountain biking. The hills, vegetation, and rock outcroppings are breathtaking. It is a great place to take pictures. Signs are posted frequently to stay on the trail, however. The parking area is a little small and on busy days the parking overflows to the roadside. An outhouse is provided in the parking lot in case nature calls.
Good spot. From the parking lot its quite verticle but once on top theres a little lake and some cool rocks worth exploring. You can find yourself surrounded by cows which is always a pleasure, i think.Recommend going right from the main lot to see the rock quarry, just a cool flowing wall of rock that is a unique feature of this park.
Beautiful park, many trails.and off shoots to make it as long or short as youd like. Oak tree studded hills. Trails we shared with herds of passng cattle. Will revisit to explore more one day.
Good hiking, just wish they had more trails open.
Beautiful park with nice mountain bike trails.
Parking was packed so we had to park on the side of the road. There is an admission fee, which is only $3 for 1 person for the day so very cheap. Beautiful scenery and a nice hike! I would come here again.
I have incredible memories from this park with someone that I just recently lost. Its an amazing area.
Great Place to hike... Went to the pond no water anymore??? Still a great hike!!
Such an amazing hike .. i loved it. Pretty much covered like half the park. Theres a three dollar per person fee.. but i saw many people not paying. No one was there to check either. The pond was dry but did manage to see the lake which is full but drying... o guess best time to go is around winter or spring. Saw the cave was amazing ...did hike all the way up ...awesome. it is an amazing place for hiking.
Love this place! Though, Id suggest avoiding it on holiday weekends. Its crazy! There are much more enjoyable times on regular weekends.
This is my ultimate fun place to go mountain biking. Once you get to the top of the hill the mountain biking is spectacular with very little hard core climbing. It can be technical for those who don’t like rocks but it’s very pretty at the top with picnic tables and benches to rest on. I have been taking my children, who are now young adults, there for years on our weekend hikes. I’m sure I will be bringing my grandchildren, if they ever come. It’s a good combination of friendly hikers and bikers at a beautiful location. Don’t hesitate to make it your next weekend destination for a picnic or a hike.
What a pleasant place for biking or hiking, especially if you are seeking a place in between San Francisco and Sacramento (it is almost midway between both)! The trails are fairly short, and the signage is limited as well, so be prepared to make some wrong turns. And watch out for the many speeding bicycles. It was quite dry when we visited, so I look forward to returning in the spring, when I expect the lake will be more full and the vegetation more green.
Beautiful hiking. Probably too strenuous for young kids
You have to pay to enter the park. They could at least have better signs that lead to certain trails and the lake which is one of the main attractions. Overall decent trails.
We got together with our children studying at Berkeley and Davis for a lovely walk in the hills and around the ponds. Saw a broad variety of birds and enjoyed the quality of the paths. We wondered at the outhouse at the top of the hill, so far from parking, but were glad to find it.
Great hiking. Kid friendly. Gorgeous sunset from one of the peaks.
Excellent trail for short hikes and a MTB haven ranging from intermediate flats to the rock garden. Been coming here kn and off for 30 years. I dont mind that they started charging an entrance fee because you can really tell that they invested back into trail restoration and park services.
Amazing place for hikes and bikes!
Large, diverse collection of paths. Fun on a bike, too.
Great place to hike. Excellent trails, rock structures, a lake and picnic tables. Only $3 per human and $1per dog. I rarely see anyone pay, or have their dog on a leash, but one should do both.
Nice place to hike but it can get crowded on weekends and holidays and the is limited parking in the tiny parking lot. Youll probably ended up parking on the street, just pay attention to the no parking signs. The are also a lot of mountain bikers. Definitely pay the park admission at the kiosk and hold on to your receipt. There is often a ranger st the top of the trail checking visitors.
Absolutely love coming here when I can. Trails overall are well defined and with 633 acres to explore I take a new route each time. I bring a light lunch and find somewhere nice and quite to eat and usually spend a good few hours here. Definitely worth cheking out!
Always a great place to ride.
Good but had cows roaming the trails
Great hiking spot, excellent for mountain bikers too. Trails are plentiful and varied ranging from easy to extreme. Theres a small lake and picnic tables.
Nice park with great views and many trails through the Oak tress.
This park has been around a long time. Fun place for MTN biking. Lots of rocky trails, hence the name.
So grateful to live close by and experience nature on a regular basis.
This place is Disneyland for mountain bikers! So fun! The views are awesome!
Great place to just sit and let your stress melt away
Nothing advised anywhere but parking lot is closed and entrance gated for no apparent or publicized reason.
Great hiking, biking and dog walking park!
Great place to hike. Easy to moderate trails with some small technical areas. Some trails it is just you and nature.
Popular dog-friendly hike. This month, however, dogs arent allowed by the lake due to sheep grazing on the land.
Beautiful hike, though the lake was low/non existent.
Great place for riding mountain bikes! Very technically challenging trails. Cave, Cascade, Rock Garden and Unknown are pure magic.
You have to pay $3 per person to be eaten alive by mosquitos. Definitely bring bug spray and plan to stay awhile to make the fee worth it. Theres also a lot of dog poop everywhere. Nice hike otherwise.
Excellent hiking park with well marked easy to follow trails. Easy hiking for the whole family. Hardest part is the initial Hill climb.
Beautiful trails and lots of bikes.
Beautiful. Moss and lichen covered rocks, manzanita, oaks, and many other california natives. Cows are almost too friendly - clearly are accustomed to sharing their places with humans and dogs. Trails surprisingly werent that muddy or slippery given how much it rained. Trails pretty well marked and extremely lovely views. Only negative is high voltage lines through the middle of the park. I only explored a few trails. Also many hills. Bikes do come quick so kerp your eyes open and try to give them room to pass.
Nice views..few small lakes
Great location for a quick or so loop mtb ride, hike with family, jog and most of all PET friendly.
Kew my third time there and enjoyed the hike with my family. I seen the lil lake/pond dat was up there n tempted to bring a rod, not sure if theres fish but ya wont know till ya tried.Aight.Tofa soifua.*Nomura*
Love Rockville park. Great place for the entire family. Various trails to walk or bike. Its a beautiful place.
Beautiful park in the winter/spring, tons of hiking and mountain bike trails. You could spend the majority of a day finding new loops, each area has something unique and interesting.
Beautiful hiking. Make sure to stay on the trails. The park has a lit of poison oak
Super friendly folks. Lots of well maintained trails, ranging from fine technical rocky volcanic singletrack to smooth rolling modest gradient gravel roads.
Great mountain bike trails.
This is a great place for some hiking, mountain biking and a picnic lots of really nice trails.
We live about 35 minutes away. It is my quick go to for mountain biking. You can bring dogs here on leash which is nice. It reminds by of a park I used to go to in Palo Alto area.
So many trails that fork off of each other. Theres plenty to explore! Even the most intense hill isnt too bad for an intermediate hiker. Great way to spend a few hours! Great views from the high points if you can find them!
Very nice park. The trails are maintained well and theres lots to see.
Wide open space perfect for mountain biking, fishing, picnic, etc...
Lots of trails. Fun place to get lost in for awhile.
First time mtbing here, gotta say it surpasses all my expectations, the place is beautiful, and is very fun to ride!
Very nice scenery, easy access nice Little like
Ideally located and easily reached, this park full of amazing hiking trails is a hidden gem in the heart of Solano County. The trail system throughout this regional park will fit needs from hiker, or mountain biker, to trail run enthusiast. The shared trails are full of beauty, shade (often a missing point in the beautiful hills of Solano County), and fantastic hill training.
Best technical mtb in the area. Great for all skill levels. Have to pay to enter.
Beautiful Morning for a hike!
Good easy mountain biking with lots of trails
Absolutely gorgeous, miles and miles of beautiful terrain and a couple really cool spots to climb up
Super chill hiking with multiple trails of varying skill level. Would go many more times to explore all of them!!! But four stars because of the lack of signage. Would like more arrows :)
Distance: 4.5 mile loop trailElevation: 606 feetlocated near Fairfield, rated as moderate but you could make this difficult or easy due to all the sections you can use. The trail is primarily used for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking and is best used from December until December. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.Good combo of shaded and open areas, pond, lake, birds, etcnotice that payment is required $ 3 a person and $1 a dog
Nice outdoors place
Tried this park based on recommendations from other bikers and was pleasantly surprised! The features at the park are of such that you can do a full enduro training especially if you are doing CES. As the name suggests, it is VERY rocky and rooty in some places... not for the faint of heart MTBer. I also love the fact that there is a mutual respect between hikers and bikers! Would recommend for both hiking and biking!
We had a blast cant wait for our next hike
Really cool outdoor space with lots of hiking trails and places to stop for a picnic. We saw a lot of people on mountain bikes, too.
Nice park with good trails. But park has a ban on ebikes. Old school rule needs to change.
Rockville Hills Regional Park is a really good spot to hike or bike around. There is an entrance fee, however it is a really pretty meadows-ish area with plenty of awesome trails and scenery. If you want a new area to bike or want to check out a new hiking place this would be the place to go to.
Fine place for a nature walk among rolling, oak-covered hills that are characteristic of this region. Very good for a hike under the golden afternoon sun.
Great park especially for mountain biking, it may look crowded in the parking lot, but once you are in the park you rarely see anyone
Great outdoor trails to hike. You can also ride your mountain bike here. Some very interesting rock formations to be found.
Great place to ride around the park. I recently moved to Fairfield from WA and living only 5 minutes away is a great bonus.
Went on a low-mid intensity hike that was peaceful. Park has bike trails and a lake you can hike to which is nice.
This was the first time I had ever went on a hike. I had the time of my life!! The rangers were very helpful. The other hikers were nice and the park was so clean. There is a small fee, but it is worth it. My daughter and I even made it to the summit. You can even rent bikes to ride the trails. This is a must for visits to this area.
Kids had so much fun
Personally, I grew up in Alaska, you can’t beat those hikes. This place has a lot of different places to explore, it’s a good walk, moderate views, not really worth paying for though...
Park closed as of September 2019. Website shows open but it is closed due to weather related problems, closure sign at car park. Nice drive there though!
I love coming here with our dog, especially in the winter and spring. Tons of trails and beautiful scenery for dog walks, hiking, or mountain biking. Id love for there to be an off-leash area for dogs but with all the cattle grazing I understand why that would be an issue. My only complaint is that the parking lot has conflicting instructions regarding the park pass. The tickets themselves say to keep your pass on your dash in your car but the sign at the entrance says to keep the ticket with you. We have a 6-month past that I photocopied so I can keep one with me and the other in the car.
Best Hiking adventures in the 707. Great time. Enjoy hiking or biking.
Fun place to camp - lived in fairfield all my life and never even knew it was there! Wish the fire pits were built out a little better for camp fires though.
Great trails....perfect for hiking and mountain biking. The great part about Rockville is that their are a number of different trails with varying difficulty.
Nice walking trails
Local Trails for Mt. Biking and Hiking. Plenty of trails with a small lake. Best time to go... in the spring. Very green flowers in bloom. The lake is full!!! Its my go to place for Mt. Biking.
Great place to walk & be in nature! Its peaceful & beautiful, with great views. Parking lot fills up in the AM. None of the trails seemed to me to be very long or difficult. The map is very detailed, but the trails themselves arent individually signed. Good for bicycling.
Nice close location. Wish trail maps were better marked.
A great place to mountain bike or hike! Many different types of trails here with different terrain and difficulty from fire roads to very technical. Also a beautiful piece of nature.
Nice terrain and paths. Big area. Trail signs can be confusing at times. Downloading a map for reference would be recommended
Small but fun. Mtb friendly!
More parking please.
Surprisingly good hiking and biking trails near Fairfield.
Wonderful mix of trails at Rockville. There are easy fireroads to black diamond rocky trails. Most of the trails are clearly labeled with the name and difficulty level. As a mountain biker, Rockville will really test your skills going up and down. Overall, it is a small park but the trails intertwine and you can easily get lost or turned around. Once you know your way around, it is very easy to navigate the park. There are wonderful vistas to view the surrounding area and a small lake in the park. The trails are well maintained by the park rangers and volunteers. You will run into the occasional cow patty on the trails due to the free range cows. There is one very small parking lot as well as street parking. There is a fee to enter the park and 6 month passes are also available. Please buy a pass, it pays our rangers to take care of this wonderful park. Also, the rangers do random checks. You may find them in the middle of the trails and you dont want to get caught without a pass! If you havent been to this park yet, check it out.
