If anyone is searching for good deals for hotel rooms visit ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ booked a hotel room on there and these guys had the lowest prices any where! This is absolutely my kids favorite resort. 4 different pools, community center, smores, fire pit, theater and the most beautiful scenery.
It was wonderful to get away for a few days. We had a few glitches with check-in and some issues with our room, but for the most part everyone was very helpful. We were right on the lake and the sounds of the fountains were very relaxing. It was very hot, so outside time was minimal but it was so nice to have a different view than my own home. We will definitely be back!
After checking in it took them over an hour to have the room ready. I had to go back to the front desk and ask why the room wasnt ready. When we got to the villa, the keys did not work. I called the front desk and they told me the keys didnt work because I hadnt checked in. What a waste of time!!! They had to send another set of keys in order for us to get in. I have never seen such inefficiency!!! If I ran my office in this manner I would not only be fired, I would have to close the business! The villa is not ADA compliant. The mountain villas are wonderful, but my husband is 90 years old and just had a pacemaker implanted. Two flight of stairs was almost too much for him. He has to confine himself to the villa because climbing the stairs is almost too much for him. I have never been so disappointed in the resort before now.
So much not open due to covid. Staff is great, suites are beautiful and fully stocked with all our needs. Great views
Great getaway. Multiple pools w ping pong, pool, weight rooms and a golf course.Villas are also very nice.
I dont usually post any review on anything but this time I feel totally urged to write one due to our unpleasant stay in this resort. The front desk staffs are so unfriendly and impatient. I checked in, arrived my room and couple of housekeepers still working in there so we had to wait outside. Entered our room, one light bulb was off, one towell rod was detached, TV wasnt working. At night, my son was about to use the jet tub and realized that the drain plug was missing. Called housekeeper, nobody answered, called front desk and was told that somebody coming with the plug but nobody came an hour and 3-4 more calls during that hour. This is the first hotel/resort I knew which check out time is 10am. I asked for late check out and the operstor didnt let me with arrogant tone she said due to occupancy. I didnt even make a big deal that they made my room late when I checked in now they expected me to leave on time. They dont fully practice covid-19 protocol either, numbers of workers are seen not wearing mask. However, I got to be fair in writing review, the place is nice and quiet good for family retreat, parking is very convenient, you park in front of your building, they dont force you to valet your car like most hotels do. It was so quiet that you have to drive at least 10 miles to grocery store or restaurant, there is a mini market near the lobby if you need to buy overpriced emergency items with limited selection. There are couple of restaurant that I dont think they were olen when I stayed there. The price is also relatively low and I guess I am just reminded that you get what you paid for. Nevertheless, once is enough, I wont stay there no more.
My family (4 adults, 2 kids) stayed in the 2-bedroom suite on 9/5-9/7/2020.There was a bit of a line during check-in, but nothing to really complain about...except it was 114 degrees outside, and with the social-distancing being enforced, we were stuck outside for 5-10 minutes before we made it inside to the AC.The check-in lady was kind and efficient. Somehow we ended up getting double-booked (we only wanted 1 room reservation, not 2) and she cancelled the 2nd booking with no fee as a courtesy. The guy at Concierge was also kind. He, of course, tried to entice us to tour the property in exchange for a free future 4 day-3 night stay there. We declined. Our room was nicely appointed. If you pay attention / look closely you can tell the property is dated, but they have done a good job keeping it updated.Due to (stupid) covid, half of the outdoor bbq/grills were locked to encourage social distance...which caused a waiting line to use them. NOT convenient at all, but not the resorts fault.Okay, the reason I gave only 3 stars? A week and a half prior to our arrival I started calling the resort almost daily to make reservations for activities. The first time or two I called the phone range for 2 or 3 minutes before anybody even picked up. When asked how they could help, they connected me to the Activities Desk to make my pool reservation. I never talked to anybody at the Activities Desk - they never answered. I left them 4 voice messages begging for a call back - i never received a call from them.Going back to the beginning...after we checked in, we were directed to the Concierge to make activity reservations. At this point we learned that all reservations were already taken. Sorry. We explained our frustration with Welks lack of response to my voice messages, but it didnt matter. He was polite and apologetic about it. Nothing was offered to make us feel better. He did say to call the Concierge directly next time to make a reservation. ....but too late for us....
They charge you for 2 days, check in 4pm no room for early check-in & the operator was rude about. Check out on my 2nd day 10am. They would not extend my check out time to 12pm. They said they were busy. When I drove down to the lobby it was empty. No one was in the lobby. Why would they lie. The cheat you out of time & money. Do the math. You are charged for 2 days but you only stay a day & half. The room lamps had cobwebs. The landscape needed cleaning up and the taxi people drive right last you & leave you standing in the heat. Customer service personnel need to be trained on how to treat & speak to their guest.
It is a beautiful place and the employees are decent but we are a group of 7 we have 4 cars. They only allow 2 on the property. That means we have to walk almost 1 mile to get to the cars. Besides that everything seems to be fine.
The pool has slides! Also splash area that my toddler loved. My 4 year old was exhausted from so much fun. Very relaxing for me.
The property is well maintained and there are plenty of amenities available. Unfortunately due to pandemic there were many restrictions impacting hours of operation as well as availability. The unit we had was great for our entire party of 6. The only downside was the attempt to sell property during check in.
Positive: The view and design of the property. Negative: broken jetted tub that payed extra to have did not work
I would like to leave a review to make sure that the management of Welk resort will see and do some adjustment in retraining their stuff .The personal of this resort is very unfriendly. The way the personal is talking to clients is awful. I understand we are here during the covid but and maybe there are super worried about safety but you can talk to people in the nice way, not demanding. We had 8 families here and all of us spend over $1500 per weekend . We came here for vacation not to argue about everything from pool, food, parking etc...1) pool access needs to be changedIf you spent $1500 for 2 days, you assume you can at least swim once and not begging people to get in.2) personal is rude . They are like robots .No sorry, no excuse me, nothingYou must be on the list if not come back another time . Come on3) parking - no parking. And when you park on the street you got a ticket . The street doesnt have NO Parking Sign. I guess if the street doesnt have sign, you can park but not here. You park and next day you will get a ticket on windshield. The resort is on the hills, so if you have kids good luck . You better exercise at home before coming. When you call their local taxi it will take min 1 hour. I was waiting for 1 hour till someone came to pick me up.4) resort Police - someone gave them power to annoy people . It is a resort, private property, Police guy stopped me said the kids must be in car seat . Come one, we are on vacation, we are driving to pool from my room to a pool area which is 1 min drive . The speed max is 5 minAnyway the location is kind of OK, nice views but for this money I would rather go to any place in Mexico or Palm spring . $1500 for 2 days with all this stress not worth it
What a beautiful place im currently in 4024 and truly love this place we came for my husband bday...yesterday I was walking to the market a nd got a lil turned around lol ok lost i came across patty the housekeeping supervisor what a sweet and helpful lady she gave us a ride was high made life easier...she also set us up wth a new coffee pot and supplies for our room she absolutely made my day ...everyone is really nice But patty went over and beyond Thank you Patty your doing a awesome job and I and my Husband truly appreciate you
Our first time as owners. It was good. Things are a little off because of Covid but they are doing a good job trying to accommodate. If you are staying book your pool time ASAP. The open pools were mostly available. Parking was ok and the rooms were quite nice. I am looking forward to staying again.
Always enjoy my visits there. This is my fourth. A little less to do this time because of Covid, but still an enjoyable time. Missed the theater performance especially. Always good.
Great resort. Gorgeous and soothing landscape. Decent activities for the kiddos at rec rooms like painting, small fee for build a bear, DVDs, Xbox, board games, arcade games. Pillows feel amazing like sleeping on clouds. Front desk staff could smile a little more. Only suggestion is to fine tune the housekeeping, some of the walls (bathroom etc) need to be bleached down especially with viruses running rampant.
It was very affordable and spacious. It feels very roomy for the price. I love that there is a big kitchen for cooking in the morning and it had an extra fold out bed in the couch for the younge one. Many swimming pools to choose from which makes it kind of feel like a vacation with out even leaving for other events. Cant wait to come back next summer.
Resort is nice. The unit I stayed in (Kings mill) is in their phase 2 (of 4) so is a little older. But the room was clean and updated. The timeshare sales pitch (if you take it) is ok, but if you hold out, there is an every other year deal you can get that can be considered good.
ATTENTION WELK. Out of all welk team members/departments, LANDSCAPING needs more recognition and appreciation. This past week EVEN IN 110-degree weather these guys never fail in making Welk look its best. And on top of that, they are there to put all their tools down and assist guests. These guys know every square inch of the resort so if I ever get lost or have a question, I go straight to these guys. 5 stars for LANDSCAPING.
We stayed here from 7-2 to 7-5-2020. Very disappointed with the front desk staff. My bro in law and I arrived at 8am to golf before we checked in. Golf was great, and that ended at 11am. I tried to check in but was told my room was not ready and I would receive a call once it was ready. My sisters room was ready and we hung out there for an hour. My father showed up and we both went to the front desk to see if our rooms were ready, they told me mine was but my fathers wasnt. They said it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. So we decided to go to the Outlets in Carlsbad. We got back at 3:30 and asked if our rooms were ready now. they told us that my dads room is ready but mine wasnt. This led to extreme frustration. They obviously did not have their s*** together during the holiday weekend. They were also being rude about it too. You can tell they may have been understaffed and dealing with a lot but I felt that that didnt justify a reason to be rude to their customers. That alone was a reason to never go back. So glad I dont own timeshare there. That would be a big regret. We had to wait and I finally got my key. upon answering my room the door was not shut The top latch was in between the door so I can just push it open. I expected to see housekeeping in there still cleaning but nobody was in the room. when I went to go turn on the TV all of the HDMI cables were taken out. I had to plug them all back in. The room came with a full living room and kitchen the living room couch had a pull out bed. When I went to the closet to see if there was a blanket and a sheet and a pillow for the bed they were all missing. When I went to take a shower the drain was fully backed up so the water built up. I basically was taking a shower in a puddle. See photos. My recommendation would be to not visit this resort unless the nightly rate was very very low. Because that is the type of level of service you should expect on visiting this resort. Yes they have pretty good amenities but dont expect any help with customer service while youre there. Take your own pillows take your own sheets may need to take a blanket, definitely dont count on a refill of shampoo, conditioner or hand soap so take that too. Good luck.
WR is a great vacation spot, if you have the funds. If you dont have a 6 figure job, best look elsewhere or if you dont have a pot of inherited money, again look elsewhere. I only have access to this great place because it was inherited by my wife. But even at that, you have yearly maintenance expenses of at least 2 k. So if you can afford it, take the plunge. Buyer be ware.
Sadly it was not a great experience. First off, they never answer their phone when you call from your room. The room was pretty ran down looking. The bed was not comfortable at all and left my back super stiff. I stayed three night and never saw housekeeping and since they don’t answer their phone I had to drive down to the lobby just to get a clean towel. I was also told the rock wall was open and when I got there it was not. The kids were super disappointed. They said it was due to Covid but everything else in the gym was open, so that doesn’t make sense. It’s frustrating when sales people lie to you just to get a sale. I recommend looking elsewhere for vacations and time shares. My experience with Welk was nothing like I was promised to be. What a shame.
Really nice place, took my family and they want to go back again. I got the 2 room Villa, super clean, very accommodating. Will be coming back.
Had a horrible vacation to this resort. The reservation for our room was done incorrectly so we didnt get the room we originally requested. When we called from the room they gave us to let them know, they told us sorry were all booked. Then the couch was torin/stained, pull out bed was sunk in, room smelt horrible, and the water in the shower wouldnt drain (water was about half way up shin when showering). We called to be put on the reservation list for the pool almost 2 weeks in advance and was told no problem well send the recreation department an email and youll get in. When we got to the pool we were told no you cant come in we can put you on a waiting list. No one even made a reservation for us. The rec center said they found the email while i was standing there and said sorry you can try again tomorrow. After addressing our concerns for 2 hours (going back and forth from the front office to the rec center) we were finally told on Saturday theyll let us in for 2 hours. Overall this vacation was more stressful and uncomfortable than anything. I also tried calling and left a message with the assistant manager and never got a call back. Well also report to the BBB!
Awesome place to stay. Very clean and well organized. Not to much activities (if you arent golf player), beautiful scenery and relaxing pools (need reservation). Clean, convenient, a little price but worth it.What I dont like here are late Check-in (4pm), and early Check-out: 10:00-10:30am
It was ok. Room was well worn, and not as clean as I would have liked or expected. We travel with basic cleaning supplies, especially when we go to a new place, but I feel like we shouldnt have to clean a room that has already been cleaned, right? We had noisy neighbors above and beside. So much of the resorts amenities were closed. Why would the main shop be closed when the market and pro shop were open? Doesnt make a lot of sense. Maybe limit the number of guests, but still allow access. We were given conflicting information from staff. Seems like not everyone on staff is up to speed on what is open and what isnt. We were here on an RCI exchange from the resort where we are owners. In the future we will choose to stay within the properties of our group. Unless you are an owner within the Welk Properties, you are given lower quality service and accommodations. We decided to cut our trip short, lost points, and went home early. We will not be back to this property.
No tub !!!! Just a shower...... Room service never came to clean up and had to make a reservation for the pool which they never tell u at checkin and closes at 7 wasnt able to take advantage of the amenities most were closed or a wait... not sure if its Corona related or the property ? However room was clean and spacious
Great getaway for a family. Family friendly accommodations. Grounds are beautiful. Many pools. Attentive staff. We werent able to take advantage of all the activities on ground because we went during the pandemic and only the pools were open, but that was good enough for us! Hope to be able to come back again when we we can experience it all.
Hands down the best resort Ive stayed at this deserves 100000 stars will make sure to spread the word
Its now a JC course.Thwy keep it in great.shape. Fairly challenging, especially the gr. During covud, u can get ur own cart on the Fountains couse for no extra charge
Nice easy going time. Golf courses are always relaxing.
The room was very nice, staff was excellent. Room was very clean.
Easy check in... Late 9:30pm and no line!! No prob finding my condo all way at end in sunny building!! My family felt so at home! Wish I had more time for R&R because so much to do and enjoy on property! Pools and jacuzzi were heated so very welcoming in 50 degree weather is like below zero coming from Hawaii!! Also finally figured out room temp up to 79 degrees if you put on auto otherwise only got to 64 and I froze first night!! Loved the views! Had fun watching the bad golfers!! Had great laugh. Also enjoyed Tuesday evening with live band was awesome!! Check pictures! Also gift shop had wonderful selection
The fountains couse is a deligbtful experience. The greens are in great shape. It was not crowded. The staff were helpful and polite.
Nice and lovely resort. Beautiful property. I will certainly stay here again if and when the opportunity arises.
I stayed as a Welk auditions timeshare owner at this property for three nights. I stayed in a two bedroom villa on Broadway Hill. It was spacious and cozy. The property overall is good for large families with kids. Most places and services close at 9 pm, which was too early for my liking and schedule. Wifi signal was not too strong and on and off at my villa. I ended up calling their tech support on a couple of occasions which didnt help much. It is a good idea to check their brochure for the daily schedule of events. They have almost everything to spend good quality family time without leaving the property - board games, movie rentals, cinema, theater, farmers market on Mondays, crafts and other interesting activities. Most of the fun events and activities are not free even for owners (escape room $18/person, family portraits $35, etc). Our required timeshare presentation with Taylor went a little over 2 required hours. Even though he promised during our presentation to help extend our stay due to our circumstances, he didnt keep his word after he has heard we are not intending to buy into the Welk timeshare.
Great time even with the rain.
Nice and clean. Some people helpful, some not. Some other guest were inconsiderate. For the most part it was good
Wasn’t very good in terms of house keeping and answering phone calls. Poor customer service. Smelled a bit odd in the room, spider webs, dead lizard, diaper under the bed (keep in mind we don’t have babies) lights not working, and leaking water from the ceiling. But, food was great from restaurants.
Weve been staying at Welk about every year since our teenagers were small and everyone still loves it. We played both the Fountains and Oaks golf courses and they were both well-maintained and beautiful. We always bring nice food to our rooms and staying here almost feels like staying on a fantasy golf island . One recommendation to Welk if theyre reading this: I wish there was more about Lawrence Welk and the legacy of world-class musicians he helped make famous (and he is one of them). Theres so much rich musical history under the Welk name and it seems to be slowly phasing out by degrees at the SD resort. Regrettably, I wasnt able to see the refurbished lobby of the theatre so maybe its being better highlighted there now. Ill be in the area in July and maybe Ill swing by. Dont get me wrong, the resort is still a great place to stay but dont let go of its original charm. Thanks for a fun spring break week!
Just ok! I found I about this place from visiting my brother who has a time share. Its clear they are treated much better then someone renting space for a few days. I had problems with check after about 30-45 mins she the person helping me offered a 11:00 check out it usually 10. I got to the room refrigerator was dirty the freezer wasnt working the room smelled, and the cover was ripped. Next day we wanted to iron and couldnt find it so they had to bring one...Im not sure why I expected more from a Resort but the experience felt more like a Motel experience. We made it work because we didnt have a choice but will not do that again.
It is a great place to visit... if you golf.
Each time we stay the kitchen is less and less equipped with cooking equipment such as pots and pans and a casserole dish. Front desk hangs up on you and its impossible to get a hold of them. No parking near the bidding they put us in. Not impressed with this stay.
Not worth the money. We stayed here for 2 nights and we had a poor experience.- First we entered our room and there was an odd smell, almost like a reptile store or a hamster cage?- Everytime we wanted to call the office for a shuttle pickup to take us to other areas, the call would be on hold for over 15 min each time. Not only that, but on a couple occasions they would hang up on us after waiting 10+min. So we would have to try and call again. We ended up just driving everywhere because the shuttle service was useless.- Our first night we decided to try the restaurant at the resort, and we got Mexican food (tacos, beans, rice, etc.) To put it simply, it was something you would find in a hospital. Watery beans, and I mean basically black watter with thick sludge. The rice was almost stale and seemed like a premade mix. Ill hold the details, but everyone had upset stomaches after that meal. We didnt eat on site after that.- Lastly, there were spiders in almost every window (on the inside of the room). The room itself was big, we got a 2 bedroom with a living area. The landscape was nice, and it was easy to get to. But overall NOT worth the money. They need to update the rooms with new furniture and clean better. They also clearly need more staff for phones and shuttles and lastly, they need a new chef.Go at your own risk.
After being contacted by their chosen marketing campaign we’re promised the world. We flew in to realize we weren’t even staying onsite. A dirty sketchy motel! Upon showing up for our presentation explained what was going on. Our frustration and experience from the night before. Jason the manager gave us a number for Trisha in the Welk marketing center. We were told we had to go through her to get our issue resolved. Our thousands of dollars with flight and car, and what is a bate and switch we’re very frustrated now we had to go fight this ourselves. We made contact with Trisha and we’re told she’d look into and get back to us in a few minutes. 3 hours later called in and although being call #1, 45 minutes passed and no one would answer. We drove back to the Welk resort and were then told by the manager Daphne that there may be a fee to get us onsite tonight and could comp tomorrow. Wait! What? The Welk resort asked us to come down here and visit them and preview the resort and sit through a 3 hour presentation for all this! All this and I get a waived fee for 1 night and 1 night comped. If you’re reading this, I suggest strongly to run away. This is the worst experience we’ve ever had when we believed in this and incurred expenses to come visit and see what they Welk group had to offer. Being passed off and no help after all this. These people have zero regard to what has been so completely falsely advertised, promised and told we’d be getting. Beautiful property, so disheartening and discerning how they do business. Don’t buy into it. Promises are not met, it’s a 1,000% scam.
Stayed the weekend. Did not feel covid safe at the pool. Very crowded and no masks or social distancing
Been golfing here for years. Also did a pretty rad Cabo San Lucas Mexico Trip through them. Nice resort. Friendly people. Havent tried the pools yet. But they look fun.
Outstanding place to be, and great perks to have if you are an owner. But.... if you know someone who owns. Use their membership. Dont get stuck in these timeshares people.
Experience for children good. Rooms with carpet need deep cleaning & dusting. I have allergies and my first day, I was sneezing, coughing& blowing my noise because of dust
I was a day-guest of a long time, time-share owner. I got a lovely personal tour. It was a Saturday evening early in January. A few folks were out and about but mostly people were gathered at an outdoor fire pit w/ live music. No one in the pools and only one couple in one of the hot tubs. Looks lovely at night. Too bad there werent more community activities going on. The one bedroom unit that I saw was very nice w/ a golf course view. All in all we had a good time.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Awesome place to take the family especially if you have kids. Lots to do here and the staff is super friendly and professional. We always have a great time at the Welk Resort and well definitely be back again soon.
The resort and all is amazing, its when trying to call front office they don’t answer. I was also riding my penny board “mini longboard” and the patrol lady pulled me over saying that I can’t skateboard which it really isn’t one, and me passing by other patrol people and workers they would say nothing. She ruined the vibe
Lovely area, but is really isolated, which wouldnt be terrible as they normally have loads of activities, hang out spots and restaurants. However, during covid everything except the pools and golf course were closed. We were not notified of this when we made reservations and it wasnt noted on the web site at all. The web makes it look like all were open. Needless to say we were disappointed. The concierge was not very helpful, but they were nice. All of the staff was very pleasant. I will consider going back post covid for a real Welk experience. The room was very nice, clean, roomy and having a well-equiped full kitchen was very nice. Be a great family vacation spot.
The swimming pool was crowded. The chicken fingers were good. It was crowded but well maintained for a time share.
Great location, within an hour or less of most attractions in the San Diego area. Pools, water slide and splashpad great for the grandkids. I would recommend.
Pros- super nice, clean rooms. The inclusion of a full kitchen in the room was a huge perk! Lots of fun activities and amenities to choose from.Cons- check in was absolutely ridiculous. At the suggestion of the resort we arrived early for precheck (which took 1/2 an hour) and we were told that all we would have to do was return to the office when the room was available to pick up our keys. So we returned at 4pm and had to wait another 1/2 hour just to get our keys. So much for precheck. Not to mention the fact that they most certainly were not enforcing social distancing within the lobby. We passed by the lobby around 5:30 when we were picking up our dinner later that evening and saw that the check in lines were out the door and around the corner of the building. I’ve never experienced a check in process that took so ridiculously long. Obviously there is much room for improvement within their customer service department.
Beautiful place! Beautiful Villas with a beautiful view! Lots of fun for all ages.
Great resort and amazing place to just relax and unwind. They do try the “Time Share” angle but you can always decline. The mountain villas are very nice and modern. Lots of activities and shops all over the resort. Pools, water slides, games etc. All good for a family vacation!!
My wife and me tried a temporary time share with Weeks it cost about $3,500.00 for a trial run, we had to pay at least half before we could use the facilities, what a nightmare, many, many telephone calls to the reservations with complete negative results, by the time we were ble to use the facilities and receive the free 3-day trips, I calculated correctly and we could have gone to Hawaii for 7-days including airfare. Dont get into this type of nightmare, Welk can kiss my behind, I wouldnt ever try any time share of any kind the people that do must have money to burn and have nothing ells to do with it. dont be a fool if you cross their tables in any Hotel and they yell out come on by a free trip if you just go to a seminar tell them to read between your fingers...
Been an owner here for 29 years. Covid has limited some things but generally most activities are available. Extra care has been taken to keep us safe.
Spent 6 days at this beautifully landscaped, well maintained timeshare golf resort. Although restaurants and activity centers were closed, enjoyed relaxing at 3 of the 5 attractive pools. Staff was attentive to staying safe and maintaining strict sanitary standards during covid.
Always love it here. They do need better wifi, it is very weak. For some reason I always have trouble with the TVs working.
I spent the weekend in the 1 bedroom mountain villa. The room was nice but the negative came due to the lack of cell service and poor internet connection if any. We tried booking activities but no one never answered phone and the front desk told us someone will contact us, which no one ever did. This was my first and last time visiting here
I will say I was mistaken to believe that this was a resort dedicated to adults..partially why I chose this resort vs one in Orlando. One thing that took the star away was when I hear a bunch of kids running around in the suite above me (after 10pm) and when I called Guest services, nothing was done.**If you’re traveling with NO kids I’d HIGHLY recommend that you request the top floor**Also it was a bit of a pain trying to connect to the wi-fi. It was like the connection wasn’t strong enough.Overall, Welk Resorts was great! My significant other & I went in late July...our suite looked just like the pictures online. Nothing was out of place. Guest Services were mostly attentive whether it was needing extra towels or needing help to connect wi-fi..but I will be requesting top floor next time!
Had a great stay! Very nice accommodations.
Great ..... wish we could afford a time share.
My son has a junior golf tournament last Sun at Welk Resort Fountain course for the 1st time. The weather was perfect. The course is in a very good shape. The scenery was spectacular. Definitely we will go back again.
I have had nothing but the most relaxing experience!I had the double master suite. It felt like a home, everything was here that I needed. The staff mostly had smiles and waved but you feel very pampered yet its not fake or bothersome.I will definitely try other locations just because of the quality and experience!!
Played the Fountains course today. Interesting and challenging executive course. Probably not a great choice for low handicappers and big hitters, but for the rest of us it’s fantastic. The course is beautiful, and in great condition. I didn’t notice a single bare spot in the fairways. The staff appears to consist of some very young guys - barely 20 I’m guessing. All of them were very friendly and helpful.I paid $32 on a JC Golf hot deal. Usually I think it’s $42 or so. Fair price, in my opinion.I played the Oaks course previously. It’s more of a chip and putt.
Average resort. Nothing special about itParking is horrible we had to park in different sections than the lot we were staying in. The pools were all freezing cold. We had a problem with our neighbor leaving unattended dogs barking in room allday we called and complained Nothing was done about that. The rooms are tired and outdated. They had me in a ground level villa with no view. They are really just one bedroom apartments Nothing villa about it.
A beautiful Oasis on the outskirts of San Diego but you neednt leave the property as they have everything you could sqease into a week. pools, hot tubs, golf courses, tennis etc. etc. Etc. Classes and fun interactive games for kids and adults kids clubs/activities etc. Etc. Etc. But if you wish for more your just 1/2 hour or so from the beautiful California beaches. Doesnt get any better than this.
Come have a relaxing Family get-away
Located in Escondido, CA, this resort offers something for everyone. Beautiful golf courses. Movies. Many fun activities, for the young and old. Wonderful customer service. Very clean and organized. The best restaurant on the property. A cute lil farmers market there as well. The corn salad from the furthest mexican food stand was so yummy. Gorgeous pools and sitting areas, as well as fun slides. The only negative was they didnt offer room service even though we stayed for 3 days.Absolutely gorgeous property.Yummiest dinner in the restaurant. Excellent employees, from the maitre d to the waiters/waitresses, to the very attentive servers, etc.
Its an awesome vacation spot... golf course and pools were awesome... cant say more...
My family has held timeshares at this location for close to 30 years. Its the week of relaxation we all have come to crave and look forward to each year. The location is quiet and peaceful (except for the occasional errant golf ball), and their activities centers have added/organized great family & community-centered events for when we finally come out hibernation but dont want to go into town for food & entertainment.
We booked and were excited to go. We had a standard double room and The 2 families had 3 kids 2 adults. They would only let us reverse time for 8 out of 10. So stupid. I have to leave 2 people out. Not very family friendly. Stay away if you have more than 2 kids. Wouldn’t ever book here again. Oh, and you can only book 3 times at the pool for your entire stay!
Wells resort discriminates against non citizens not allowing them to book special packages with them. Although I am a citizen myself, my s/o is not and for this we could not book with them. Their reason being non citizens can not purchase their time shares which no one is interested in purchasing anyway. However, my s/o or myself can purchase if we’d like, just like we purchased a home, car and everything else in life that we own. Thanks for ruining my family’s vacation and discriminating against yearly income and citizenship status, which are two things that should not be any of your business! This is a resort for families, not a bank. I have heavy social media influence and I will let all my followers know what you did so no one books with you.
Great place to stay with family and visit. Still things to do on property and staff was helpful.
Very nice place to get away and relax
Its very beautiful, clean, quiet and relaxing.
Great place to enjoy time with family and friends. Good, quiet, and clean atmosphere. Premises are well kept, and lodges are for the most part in good condition. Staff was very friendly, helpful and patient. Great locations and views.
The Welk was just what we needed during this Pandemic!! We stayed to ourselves and arrived Monday with little hassle. The Home to Buy presentation ruined our first day there!! They held us in captivity for 3+ hours messing up our room preferences, as they text you when your room is ready. However, when we didnt show they reassigned our room. Everything worked out nicely, once tour ended thank to the front desk.Room: Relaxing private patio, mid level 840 sq. ft. living space, with washer and dryer! Clean, Mountain Villas on the upper right, on map in the purple, are the best location!! Try for a walk in mid level floor, as its very difficult to move/carry luggage up and down the outside stairs. Decide though if the stairs beat out sleep, as the kids on top of us ran around all night!! Luckily, that was our last night.Full Fridge with ice maker helped keep us ready for our next Beach adventure!!Staying four nights we had NO cleaning or room service. However, we traded out our towels every day!! Housekeeping was 1st Class!!The 18 hole golf course lacked perfect greens as children run a muck on scooters, around the fishing pond and parents today dont respect the fact that you just spent $100+ on a round of golf!!Travel: The Welk in NOT near the airport or the beaches.Airport is 40 minutes away without traffic!!Ocean City Beach is 35 mins. away and requires coins for parking meters.Do not be fooled!! Our trip worked out beautifully for us, as we drove up and down the coastal beaches in awe of their beauty. If you had a reservation at Sea World or SD Zoos travel time is hectic.Overall Standard full size rooms. Nothing over the top or romantic about this location. Beware of the room description photos because the room is plain! There are barely pictures on display. They are showing/selling you living space. I was disappointed as the pictures gave me false expectations upon arrival. We had a blast touring the cities and beaches nearby, yet would choose a Beach location next time
Beautiful room with amazing views. A home away from home experience. Everything you could need, all within the property. The Monday evening farmers market was an perfect way to have dinner and get some yummy Hawaiian scented salts for our last night. Will return.
Terrible!Don’t get there and never take their tour. Kelley was our guide and she is a super nice and very polite person. She offered to us their program and of course she pressed a little bit. But my husband felt bad in this day and when we told her that she was really empathic and try to do everything faster. Then her manager Bobby explain to us financial program and he was nice too.BUT THEN! In the end of our tour Anita came to present our gift.. We told her many times about my husband medical condition, he felt really bad and we want to end this tour as soon as possible. Anita didn’t even listen us! More over, Anita interrupted me when I tried to explain how bad my husband feel! He has high blood pressure and he almost passed out because she just keeping talking about program.. that was insane! He tried to speak to explain how bad is situation, but she just didn’t pay any attention and kept telling about the program! I can’t believe that someone can act like that! Someone almost passing out in front of you and you just keep talking about that stupid program! When I screamed to stop this immediately she threw the papers on the table and tell how disrespectful is to interrupted her! Could you imagine that?! She just didn’t care! I recommend Welk management to fire Anita because she extremely rude, absolutely unprofessional and really disrespectful person.
They never answer the phoneNothing compared to pechanga resort
Beautiful setting with helpful staff and excellent amenaties. Very comfortable, well appointed rooms.
Welk Resorts San Diego is one of the premier resorts located in the one of the top cities in the country. It is located in Americas Finest City and San Diego was also voted the number one city for spring break, there are so many things to do here and with the perfect weather all year round, it makes it ideal for a quick getaway or vacation. It is a few minutes drive away from SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, Legoland, lots of other attractions, and most of all, the beautiful beaches. If you head north to Disneyland and Hollywood m, it Universal Studios, it will take you about an hour to an hour and a half drive. These are some places you can go to and many more.Welk Resorts have beautiful landscaping, rooms and villas are huge and clean, and so much to do at the resort itself. They have a lot of activities for the family, in addition the the golf course, the theater, and places to eat, they have have multiple pools, a gym, and recreational centers that also show movies in the evenings in certain seasons. They have lots of amenities, and they also have a fishing pond if you like fishing. They have lots of places to relax, they also have a spa, and outdoor fire pits. So next time youre in San Diego, stop by and take a tour.
Beautiful place. Love it here, they offer so much to do... I was shocked.
Had a chance to stay at this resort for a week and my family and I had a great time. Heated pools kept the kids busy for hours along with air hockey, pool and a few other things they had. Starbucks on site kept my wife off my back in the mornings which was great and pizza hut on site was great for lunch or dinner. You can bring youre own groceries because the place has a full kitchen. Rooms were excellent, clean, quiet. Bed was top notch! Also they have a pull out in the living room for extra guests. Over all, we had a great stay and the staff was A+++ thank you so much for a memorable experience! From Denver CO
This place was okay. I waited one hour in 100 degree weather outside to check in. I tried making pool reservations no one ever answers the phone. I went to buy a s’mores kit with my daughter and they told me they were sold out at 8 pm. She cried for an hour. It seems disorganized and everything closes early even though there are tons of people staying there. Villa was nice but I’d think twice or be extremely prepared before staying here again. Even though Covid is going on places like this are charging the same and not providing all the things that normally would be included.
This place is amazing! Great views, and plenty of activities for people of all ages! The staff is friendly, and the rooms are amazing.
Pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was on the inside. Staff was extremely friendly. Had a great time and would highly recommend.Wasnt aware until after we booked our trip that the resort is actually over half an hour north of San Diego. Would have given five stars, if not for the remote location.
What an awesome time
