Hands down, this one of the BEST dog parks in Maryland, especially for large dogs. Our White German Shepherd ran at full speed almost the entire time playing & chasing balls with dog friends, for an hour. Park has 2 enormous fenced sections: 1 for small dogs and 1 for large dogs. $5 entrance fee/or$40 total yearly membership for 2 dogs.Come prepared with:Proof of Rabies Vaccine & Proof of County Dog License. They close at sundown.
Love this place! Go here almost daily with my high energy pup, 5 bucks a day or 40 for the year, worth every penny, Rita the afternoon attendant is amazing, helps you get to know the parks and knows all the dogs! Poo bags and toys are provided, great sitting areas and water for the pups! Could not be happier with finding this place
Very nice dog park! I wish it was closer to my house. You can tell whoever takes care of it really cares. Lots of space, water bowls at basically every tree. My dog loved it. Be aware you need to pay $5 to get in so make sure you have correct change :)
Great place, lots of dogs and people, a little bit unkept and dirty however.
Its awesome! Great place to take your pets for a workout. The gentleman in charge was nice as well.
I suppose its OK, I just stopped for a smoke in the shade. I only have a cat who doesnt go outside, so I dont know anything about it. It didnt smell, so that was a good thing.
Great place to take dogs meet new people and everyones nice
Great place for dogs to run around, plenty of room. Also friendly dogs and dog parents are always around.
I go here constantly with my dog. Its very well maintained and is really inexpensive if you get the year long pass. They rotate between two locations to keep the grass nice. Overall a great place!
Muddy for days. Not well kept. Tended to occasionally from what I saw. Looks kind of run down to be honest. Some of the people dont tend their dogs well and there is no attendant to do anything about it. Id recommend the other park.
Everything was great, but someone brought their Doberman that started a fight with my dog. He was not going to leave so I had to. I guess if your dog is out of control they win.
Do. Not. Let. Your. Dog. Off. Your. Leash. Danger.
My dog and I visited this dog park several times in 2018. We had mostly good experiences (not the parks fault, some irresponsible dog owners did not closely monitor their pets during play). The staff member that mainly monitors seems to police around. I am sure she has good intentions but it comes off too strong, especially when we were first attending the park. This park is probably best for big dogs and dogs who already have some level of confidence and social skills.
Spacious dog park...my dog always has a great time here.
Great place! Only 40.00 a year for residents or 5.00 a visit. The woman in charge this past Sunday was very helpful, walking me through sign up process, plenty of space and water and bags!
It is well cared for and water always available for the dogs. There are chairs for people to sit under trees to give away from the sun as well as a shaded top area to sit under. Theres a fence side for small dogs and a fenced for large dogs.
My dog loves coming here. Lots of land. Well maintained. Dog owners are responsible.
Great space to run, friendly owners, plenty of seating and relatively clean. $40/yr or $5/day kinda throws off vibe but is reasonable
Great place to take your favorite Boofer. Large well maintained open play area. My dog had a great afternoon playing and making new friends. Make sure you have a $5 bill and your rabies and county license numbers for entry.
This park is fantastic. Its huge, and it has a small dog park for the little ones. This is our favorite dog park in the DMV, and one of our favorites ever. The people here are also really friendly, and the dogs are well behaved. I think the fact you have to pay $5 makes it attract people who really care about their dogs.
Fantastic park for your furry buddy, lots of space, toys, and fun. Its only $5 for the day or you can get the yearly pass for $40 from Howard County. If its your first make sure to bring proof of shots, rabies in particular. They do not allow entry without it, no exceptions.
Clean, well groomed park. Very well managed.
Seeing how tactful, friendly and welcoming, and fully competent Rita is, is almost reason enough to visit the park. She knows all the people and dogs. My hound, Dudley, and I are full-bore Rita fans.MOST of the people one sees there, and probably all of the dogs there are great; pleasant to meet and ready to share admiration of all the pets and swap comments and stories. A few of the patrons are too cool to pick up poop or pick up toys when they are through, stop their dogs from digging, or take water jugs back up the hill, or accept any responsibility for helping to keep the place up. For the most part though, they are a good bunch, and it is a pleasant and fun community.Worthington is built on a re-claimed landfill but it usually has a good amount of grass and a nice slope so the dogs can get really lots of exercise. The dogs love it and there is much chasing and playing. My dog-pal and I have been to Worthington well over 200 times.I think $40 for a years access to this facility is reasonable.
Great time. Lots of grass n running space. Sunday was a good crowd. Like the two separate areas. Small n large, puppies n elderly. Clean and safe. Our pup gives 4 paws up!
2 large areas separated by size, although a bit muddy, there are concrete pavilion areas to escape the mud, socialize and even sit if you can find a chair.
Really nice place with separate areas for big and small dogs. My big dogs love it there.
Racist. Unwelcoming. Unpleasant. Staff & dog owners stereotyped my boyfriend because he was sitting in a tinted car. Dog owners had the nerve to sit there and gossip about him while I was there with my dog. Never going again.
Large clean facility perfect place to bring your dog..
Great dog park and even have an area for the bigger dogs. Will definitely go back there.
Great park. My pup enjoyed the morning here. Fresh water and bowls. Doggie bags available. Not a bad fee - 5 bucks for a day pass. Will visit again!
Awesome dog park with knowledgeable staff and friendly patrons. The county does a lot of improvement work to keep the park in great condition.
Very nice dog park. Lots of room to run. Sometimes no dogs and sometimes 50 dogs. Its for members, but you can pay a small cash fee at the gate, if not a member.
It is well cared for and water always available for the dogs.
I really like taking my dog to this park. The big dog area is huge and he gets a wide open space to run and play. I had a bit if an issue yesterday though. A dog was playing a bit aggressively with my dog (had my dog by the neck and would not let go). The owner got his dog free and my dog looked really scared when his dog starting coming after him again. I decided it was time to leave because I did not want the situation to escalate any further. The man started getting upset with me and told me his dog was just playing. I told him that kind of play was a little too aggressive for my dog and that I was going to leave before the situation got worse. He continued to yell at me and harass me as I was leaving the park stating that I was saying negative things about him and his dog. I never once said anything negative about him or my dog. I have every right to remove my dog from a potentially harmful situation. I am hoping this was an isolated situation.
Excellent dog park. Its a large open field with a few obstacles if your pup is into that. Running water and plenty of metal bowls as well as tennis balls and throwers available. The dogs and humans that come are a fun group, we are always meeting new people. If you are a visitor you will need $5 cash and your pups rabies vacc info. For the year you can buy a pass for $40.
Dog Park looks fun.
Large clean facility perfect place to bring your dog.
Its nice. It costs $5 per visit or $40 per year. Thats not bad but they dont pro-rate the fee. If you join in November it costs $40 until the end of the year and another $40 dollars in January.
Yeah the age for children is 12. So I cannot rate it anything above a one. I would have loved to have my dog and kid happy but nope. So not family friendly. Edit: The website said, after a few links, no kids under 12 in the off leash area but the guy wouldnt let me in any part.Still this park is essentially for those whose kids are older or have no kids at all so still not family friendly
In good shape. Friendly dogs and owners
Love taking Nellie here.
Nice park. Some pet owners pretend not to see their dogs pooping.
Upkeep is very good not to much traffic but kinda sucks though cause not to many other peeps come there i like to bring my pup there so he can interact with other dogs but there are none
Huge area for pups to run. Never seems busy because there is so much room! I only wish there was more access to drinking water for the dogs.
Clean, friendly, and well managed. $5 daily fee is well worth it.
Great, great park for dogs! Open all year and well maintained. Has a seperate small/shy/golden years section and a larger section for all dogs. Love this place and so does my dog :)
Its a very nice dog park. I was visiting from out of town and didnt know that it wasnt open to the public.
We have a years pass and take our two dogs here multiple times a week. The area is large and there are usually a fair number of pets and owners around. The park is broken into two areas, based on dog size. Both areas are appropriately scaled and our dogs usually leave tired from the amount of running that happens. My only complaint is that they dont allow kids under fourteen in the park. This restriction seems too be common place for this region though, so this park isnt there only one like that.
Excellent park! Very friendly and nice group of folks hanging out with their pups a playing.
Great facility. Well maintained with water when its warm enough that the lines wont freeze. Separate area for shy dogs too
A very large dog park with plenty of extra poop bags if you need them. Plus there is always sufficient parking!
Some work to get signed up but means an overall better group of people/dogs. Most owners are good at keeping their dogs in check. Fresh water on site.
A great place to let your dog run and make new friends. Just a fyi, it gets muddy in the spring.
Great place to take the dogs. I would recommend paying for the Annual fee instead of paying $5 every visit.
Best dog park we’ve been to, great people and a LOT of room to roam and have fun with.
Great park for my super energetic weim!
I showed up at this place to find out there is a two dog per person limit. There is a dog park attendant who is very unhelpful and cant even sell you the passes on site. There is also a landfill right next to it. My search for a good dog park continues.
Excellent place to take your pup and your him/her out. I was worried at first, since our doggo is so small, but the divided sections of the park as well as the knowledgeable patrons have put me at ease.
Its a great place for your dog to exercise in the company of dogs and fun people.
Great park, friendly people. They rotate the large dogs between two fields to save the grass as much as possible.
My dog loves it
Huge area, has a few challenges set up for training, split areas for small and large dogs. Definitely recommend. There is an annual fee which is a bummer but it is minor and totally worth it.
Fantastic place to allow dogs to run free and play with friends.
Beautiful park, friendly people. The rules are a little strict, but the security is very nice about it. The lawns are kept very tidy and there are very few diet patches
This park is excellent. The folks leaving 1 star sound pretty miserable. Having to pay $5 to come in if you dont have a pass (the $5 is deducted from the cost of the $40 annual pass)? Not able to bring a baby into the park - get a clue lady - have you ever been to a dog park? Dogs run and wrestle. A baby held or on the ground would get creamed. Not being able to bring more than two dogs per person. I have three great danes and I am OK with two dogs per person. I am anti rules in general but the common sense rules that they use at this park keep the morons and bad dogs out. Rita and Sam (the guards as one person call them) are there to make sure the park works for EVERYONE not just for you. This park works in part because of the rules. Rita and Sam are excellent as are the dogs and the people. I live in between the Columbia dog park and the HoCo dog park. This one is 10x better than the Columbia dog park. I think this is where the miserable people that would give Worthington dog park a 1 star rating are all going. Keep it that way. We dont need you to wreck our mojo.
Large, spacious, well-maintained dog park with shaded seating and running water.
Absolutely worth it. The fields are clean and there is plenty of room. The people there are friendly, too. Couldnt recommend it more.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. I appreciate your keeping the park open dawn to duskThank you
Required $5/dog and proof of rabies
IT WAS GOOD.....BUT IF YOU GO BE PREPARE THEY CHARGE $5 AND YOUR DOG HAS TO HAVE A RABBIES VACCINE UP TO DATE OTHERWISE THEY WONT LET YOU IN. MY DOG HAD FUN!!!
Our pup couldnt go on without his dog park. Onyx loves WDP!
I love that there is a large and small dog park option, Rita the main manager knows how run the place and keep the wrong dogs out .
Other dog owners are friendly, polite, and welcoming towards newcomers of all stripes.
Great place to bring my furbaby
Great dog park!
Very friendly. Rita goes above and beyond!
Awesome park, my dog loves it.
Excellent for my small 2 dogs
