Great place for parking, narrow lane on the way in though, so drive slow. This parking lot is right by the red covered bridge and big elk. Direct access to the carriage trails, and several others. Nice pavilion a short walking distance away with a place to tie up your horses and eat, even a little fire pit. Theres a mounting block and a port-a-potty in the parking lot as well.

We loved the orange trail for the most part.... gorgeous, well kept trails!! The beginning to thirds if the trail was marked really well.... the last third of the trail not so much. Unfortunately the path wasnt marked clearly and we got on the wrong path twice. Once at the nature center(where the path apparently just crosses the road & looks like a vehicle service path), and where the trail intersects back with its self by the barns in the field.

The Nature Center is a valuable non-profit serving the Tri-state area with environmental programs, speaker series and school field trips. Their events and summer camps are fun-filled, adventures that imbue a love of nature in kids.

Fair Hill Nature center camps have provided wonderful physical and intellectual stimulation to my grandsons for the past three summers. The unique blend of climax forest, protected wildlife, land husbandry, commercial and pleasure equestrian activities along the most northern tributary of the Chesapeake Bay provides rich experience to students. Thanks for the great experience.

No matter which section of the Nature Center weve gone to, weve never been disappointed. Next Spring we plan on getting mountain bikes, in order to take advantage of their numerous trails.
