Paid for the 2 year deal that they offered earlier this year ($199 for 2 years) and pay a cart fee every time I play. Tried to play last Friday and after I paid my cart fee I was told it was a 2hr wait for my tee time. Then another member friend booked a tee time for yesterday on their website, he was charged $4 to do that and when we showed up for our tee time we were told that since we booked online our membership couldnt be used since we booked online and had to pay full greens fee. The course was in better shape then it had been but was still in bad shape. Fairways and tees were slop and saturated with mud and water. Play was slow and waited on every shot. No ranger except for once on the 14th tee the so called pro came by to sing praises of how the pace of play was. He has no clue on how to run a golf course. I will say you got me for my money and that I will not be coming back. I tried to get my moneys worth out of one year but I dont think thats possible. Dont not play this course.

The course condition has deteriorated severely over the past two months. Greens were not mowed, multiple bare spots and ball marks. Fairways were bare and tee boxes were bare and not mowed where there was grass. Every sand trap had water in it and more rocks than sand. I do not recommend this course even for the cheaper price. You get what you pay for.

This course is UNPLAYABLE. The greens consisted of various combinations of dirt, mud, burned out greens and crab grass. Paid only $31.00 for the round and STILL feel like I got ripped off.In all honesty, this course needs to be shut down for an extended period of time, they need to rework ALL the greens, several of the fairways and most of the teeboxes. Unless that happens, the one star I gave should be considered generous.

Its like having a driving range, putting green & 18 hole golf course all to yourself. Plus the bar & grille has good food & fairly priced drinks, w/ friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Rarely is it busy, so the staff is usually attentive & service is quick.Id like to see them do more business, so they could thrive and maintain things to a higher standard, but selfishly I also enjoy the fact that its never crowded.I really hope they fix the cart paths for the 2020 season. The driving range needs time dedicated to upkeep & new golf balls as well.Tip: The back 9 seems to be in a lot better shape than the front 9. I imagine the latter gets far more use, so it shows more wear-n-tear.

Look at the condition of the course. Almost all the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were burnt and in horrible condition. All 18 holes had something wrong with it in one or more of those 3 areas. The excuse given to us at the clubhouse was that the course got hit hard with the sun, but so did every other course this summer; Fox Hollow, Greystone, Rocky Point, and Pine Ridge are all in great condition. I dont know what happened that cause the course to be in such poor condition, and honestly I dont care, but whoever got the course prepared did not do a good job and it shows. You charged $47 for people play on a course that should be closed or it shouldnt be higher than $20. Unless the condition of the course improves dramatically next summer or the price of a round goes down, do not expect me to come back or to recommend Patriots Glen to other golf enthusiasts.

Cart paths has more holes than you can imagine. Greens are ok for some and nasty for a lot of them. I love the lay out of the course. Just needs ALOT OF WORK. Should lower their rate to $20.00 with cart until they fix it up. Ed Olivers ( Porkys ) is playing GREAT. Greens are fast and true. I only played it because I thought the after Sunday the courses were going to shutdown. Hope they fix the course. You couldnt pay me to play at this course again. A real shame to because the layout is a good one. It could be a great course with any care and maintenance. As it is, it looks like the Salt Flats. Huge swarths of the fairway and giant patches on the greens of baked out sandy/dirt patches that looked like they havent seen water in a month. We had to move countless balls from on the fairway off of these patches and drop onto the nearest square patch of grass we could find. On the greens we had to move balls several feet so that we wouldnt be putting over/through a sand bar or what could best be described as steamrolled mulch. Apart from cutting the grass (which seemed to have last happened a few weeks ago), if you told me they have put $20 into course maintenance this past month, I wouldnt believe you.It was that bad. I dont know who would give this place 5 stars but its bad .....I thought by now they would have improve the course, but it still as bad as it was when they reopened it. I have worked at a golf course for 3 seasons and you can tell they dont care. They need to shut down 9 holes and work on them and if it takes a year so be it. And then do the other 9 the next year. But when you have carts sliding across the fairways like today you will have nothing but bald spots and disease and it will never get any better. I hope that they dont end up closing like a lot of other courses have

I gave this course 1star now due to the fact that I played there a few times in the last a year and a half and had so much hope for this course. I absolutely loved the layout and the people were great to converse with. The new GM at the time discussed how they were making big improvements and the turnaround that was taking place. By reading these latest reviews, not much has apparently been done since then to improve conditions. The responses to these low ratings are “canned” responses that now prove to be nothing but trivial script with very little sincerity. At $30-$40 a round, how can you possibly make the improvements to the deplorable playing condition of this course? I understand the need to generate revenue, but you’ll never get there with people talking how $20 is too much for a round here. That is an insult that should make your furious. Just simply growing and maintaining the grass areas would be a huge improvement. The condition of the bunkers and cart paths would be more costly, but correctly doing this a little at a time will pay off over the course of a year. Close 9 holes, charge the $30-$40 greens fees for a 9 hole round and work on the closed portion of the course and let it take root. Then repeat. In a year or so you’ll be able to charge the $60-$70 per round that the layout would support. Get it in top condition and you’ll rival the Wyncotes and Bulls Rocks of the area. Low expectations and prices will breed low results and poor customer satisfaction. Imagine if more than the typical 10-15% of players who have played there actually took the time to give you feedback? You would probably have sold the property to someone building more apartments. No need to reply. As I’ve spent a good portion of time reading thru all of these reviews, your answer would do nothing more than insult my intelligence by telling me you’re elevating it to your “whatever” for action. Please come up with a plan and follow through and make this a playable course or sell it to someone who will.

*Update- May 2019* The course has dramatically improved since my prior review last year. Great job to the staff and all of the groundskeepers for doing an excellent job in bringing the course around. I have been playing over the last few months and each time I return the conditions have noticeably improved. All of the tee boxes and the greens are really looking good (If only everyone would fill or replace their divots), and the fairways are in the best condition I have seen them yet. Keep the carts on the path whenever possible and it will continue to improve. Some bunkers still have drainage issues and need more sand but Im sure they are in the process of working on that. Definitely a gem of a course that has the best value and one of the best layouts of any course Ive played. Dont worry about the previous negative reviews because this course is really shaping up and if you try it you wont be disappointed.

This is a pretty mediocre course, A very good place to go to when your game isnt exactly where you would like it to be. Its a decent play for anyone with a handicap above 18. Ive played here for quite some time now and the prices seem fair. The course could definitely use a little love, specifically the greens because people dont repair their divots. but to do that, the price would need to be raised. So Im happy with the way it is. I play this course more than any other course strictly based on price. It gives me plenty of practice to improve my game. On a side note, Ive never had to wait due to slow play. I played Patriots Glenn today after it had rained a little bit overnight. The course doesnt drain well so it was soggy. The course is coming back but will need more time to return to its past conditions. The tee boxes and fairways are spotty and at least three greens were basically unputtable due to bare spots and weeds that have been treated and are in the process of dying. The rough was US Open rough with the grass actually bending over. I lost three balls that drifted a few feet into the rough. They went to the bottom of the rough and were covered by grass. Little sand in the traps too. Heres the deal---if you want a recreational round to practice your shots, Patriots Glenn is fine. If you demand really nice smooth greens look elsewhere. If you want pristine conditions you will be disappointed. That being said, I played for under $30 bucks and went around in 3 1/2 hours and had a great time. Ill be back in the Fall when conditions will hopefully be better.

Review №61

So I found a $20 deal for a round of golf here, and I am afraid to say that I overpaid for the round.Let me preface my review with this statement, I have worked in the golf course maintenance field for the last 10 years. Of those 10 years, 9 of them have been in the transition zone. So I fully understand the challenges that this course and crew face. I currently work at a course that actually received more rain and hot weather than Patriots Glen did this year, based on some quick weather history research. Now back to my review.I am not certain why the course is in the condition it is currently in. Basically, I can not determine if the condition is due to a lack of care, a lack of knowledge or a lack of money. For those that say “someone needs to spend some money to get the course back in shape,” no amount of money can fix this course if the people doing the work don’t care or don’t have the knowledge base to complete it properly. There is a lot of dead grass, I mean ALOT, all over the course. The tee boxes are mostly dirt and algae is most cases, there are greens with less than 50% living grass and the fairways are more than 70% dead. Most of the dead grass on the fairways is due to the weather changing and the warm season weeds declining, and I would say the same for the tee boxes. The dead grass on the greens is another story completely. Most of the dead grass on the greens is due to lack of care. By lack of care I am saying that the grounds crew needed to hand water the hot spots on the greens when the weather was hot to prevent the grass from declining.Overall, the course is amazingly still wet. There are spots on the course in fairways and rough the are absolutely mud. There are obviously drainage issues that need to be addressed, but there are also a lot of trees and under brush surrounding the holes that needs to be removed. Found this will increase air flow and allow the course to dry out faster, and help to prevent the grass from drowning. There are bunkers that have algae growing in the standing water because they have no working drains and no one has pumped them out.All that could be from lack of knowledge, however, when the water in the ball washers smells like rotten stagnant swamp water, that is a lack of care.Additionally, I played the course today, and can tell you first hand that the pin locations had not been changed in at least 3 days. Again a lack of care.Simply put, for those that made it this far, I hate blowing up other courses, but something needs to be done with this course. It is a wonderful layout and rightfully challenging. But if no one cares about, knows how to or wants to pay to fix it, then it will go along the wayside like so many other challenging under managed courses, it will be forced to closed.

I played here after I got a good deal on golfnow. The driving range is probably the best in the area, range balls are a good deal if you buy more than one token at a time. The course was in good not great shape, some transitions between fairway and rough/ teeboxes and fairways were a bit bare. However the greens and tee boxes where in solid shape. The hazards are well demarcated and the bunkers in great condition (something other area courses dont seem to attend to). The layout of this course is great in my opinion. The lack of randomly placed tall grass really makes the round more enjoyable. I cant comment on the bar/drink prices as I didnt make use of it. Its true the facility is just getting back on its feet and for that I give a little bit of a break on some of its weak spots because it has a ton of potential.
