I do not understand why COVID closes restrooms and water fountains and crowds everyone into porta potties with poor sanitation and not even any sanitizer provided. Moving memorial and pleasant grounds, though. Google navigation may misdirect to the inaccessible adjacent neighborhood.

Great place to visit. Learning about our history, and loss of life to keep what we have in this country. I hope we all remember and show awesome respect to the ones that mostly unknowingly sacrifice their lives.

I visited the Elizabeth town nature park this afternoon for the dedication of the veterans Vietnam veterans memorial, an 80% scale model of the memorial in Washington DC. The location is beautiful, was selected to be approachable even during poor weather conditions, and the memorials representation is True to its name sake in our nations capital.

Great addition to the lake. Offers a paved walking track coupled with various trails for hiking and a large grass loop that makes for good biking. Also pays well deserved respect to all branches of the military with various monuments. Good spot for Pokemon GO as well if your into that.

An asset to our community. Lots of quiet, and lots of serene beauty along the well kept walking trails. A great place to take your dogs for a peaceful stroll. The Vietnam Memorial is a solemn, well done memorial to our fallen soldiers, and the whole park is a respectful, lovely place to our armed services.

I love the Nature Park. Being a runner, this is a great place to take advantage of some of the trails in Elizabethtown managed by the wonderful folks at Greenspace. I also enjoy that the city has a dedicated space to salute our veterans and their service to our country. There is plenty of wide open space for kids to play, have a picnic, or all types of other outdoor activities.

They have nice trails to walk or run on with benches and restrooms. There is Freeman Lake with a trail around it or you can go fishing. Also there is a Veterans tribute of the U.S. Armed Forces with statues and plans for building a replica of the Vietnam Memorial wall on the grounds.

Er
Review №66

Great place for a peaceful walk or run. Excellent location to park and begin a run around Freeman lake, as a short underground tunnel connects safely under Ring Road to Freeman lake Park. The Veterans tribute is nicely done, with status representing each branch as well as civil servants. The nature part of the nature Park is a bit lacking, honestly, being mostly mowed lawn with a small creek being the only naturally diverse feature. A very nicely conducted pavilion with seasonal bathrooms and picnic tables make it a convenient place to enjoy a lunch break.

Was at the park this evening with my husband and my 5year old son. Enjoyed walking on the trails & admiring the beautiful memorial displays (the park is lovely). HOWEVER, am very dissapointed that my 5year old left almost in tears bc we were being intimidated by a very rude park attendant. There apparently is a (small) sign on one of the walkways leading up to the large memorial wall that we did not see. Just because yes a sign is posted, doesnt mean that people are always mindful of it being there, its easy to walk past and overlook it, or not see if at all depending what direction you are walking from. Point being, my son was riding his bike on the sidewalk along the memorial wall, and instead of approaching us and simply stating excuse me maam but its not allowed to ride here, this older gentleman in the meanest way possible yelled across the lawn at my son and I to get away from here with the bike its not allowed (and more). I did say back to him that he didnt have to speak to us that way, that we didnt see the sign our mistake, and that we were leaving (we immediately walked away from the memorial across the grass, not even on the sidewalk at this point to leave) and he continued to HARASS my 5yr old and i until we made it back to the parking lot from across the lawn..watching us the entire time. When my son stopped about half way to the car he started yelling over to us again about there being cameras, etc etc trying to rush us to get away (at this point we are no where near any part of the memorial!) Which I told him thats fine that there are cameras bc we didnt do anything wrong And again stated to him that we were leaving . He made our pleasant experience at the veterans Park, end awfully. He needs a class in public service and how to speak to people this could all have went differently. The whole way back home my son didnt understand and was asking why the man was yelling at him and so i had to teach him that in life people can be ugly- thats one positive that came from this. I was able to teach a life lesson. We sadly will not be back to enjoy this park in the future.
