Typically Ive never ever had a bad experience at the point!!! Ive been visiting the point for years, spend many days in the park and at the beaches. I bring my friends, kids, grandkids... tell all sorts of people how relaxing and fun it is. Until just recently.... we were enjoying the water with one of our water toys. It was too rough so we were trying to get it off the beach and stowed away... however multiple vehicles had parked across the end access to walk onto and off the beach you couldnt walk around the vehicles with anything larger than your own body and that was still a tight squeeze. Couldnt get up or down around the vehicles due to the trees and brush. We politely asked the last vehicle the blocked the walkway to back their vehicle up so were could get through we were responded to withwhen Im done at the beach Ill move. Meanwhile one of the other vehicles with their speakers blasting out towards the water decided they would move their vehicle a few inches so we could leave the beach. Mind you the other vehicle was still unloading and could have easily backed up a few inches to allow us to pass. We were then accosted with nasty comments and threats of harm.... I will probably never go back to that part of the beach again because of those people.

Lake Erie was beautiful near sunset, the beach was on the dirty side in some areas but overall quite nice.

Its beautiful here! The Lighthouse looking just as haunted as ever...The entire area is kept up so nice,and there is plenty of room to go beachcombing. It was so nice,I forgot to take any pictures!!

Nice little beach area. Take a walk, pick up beach glass, swim if you like. Beautiful park area for families to enjoy picnics. Well maintained lawns. Nice paved bike and walking path.

Still a nice, if simple, park. Collected beach glass and enjoyed the outdoors at distance. Not too keen on the car show, but I guess they really like loud music.

I remember having family reunions at Point Gratiot years ago from the 1960s through the 1980s. I always looked forward to seeing extended family and the beautiful park. We had a lot of fun there and it brings back wonderful memories. It sounds like things havent changed much over the years. I wish we didnt live so far away so we could visit the park once more.Hopefully, if you are reading this, you too can create memories.

Some garbage along the shore, but you will have that with lake Erie. The only issue I had was the picnic area we had with a picnic table and grill had poison ivy everywhere.It is also one way through the park, so you need to go all the way out to the main road/route to come back in. Which is kind of a pain if you are trying to find a parking spot and need to go all the way back around.Other then that, it is a nice park.

Such a beautiful quiet place to enjoy nature and all its splendor. Especially the fall colors!

Been here three times. Nice walking trails and a nice beach. Someday I hope to get to walk the lighthouse grounds but its always closed when Im here.

Phenomenal park w sweeping views of Lake Erie and great historic lighthouse! Facilities are ample and beach is wide w life guards on duty during summer months. Walking trail from end to end w panoramic views!

Great place for a picnic, event, rockey beach walk, or watching a storm roll in! Free entry, clean bathrooms, plenty of parking.

Had my daughters graduation party there and the kids loved it.

Beautiful beach and they have an outdoor shower so you can rinse the send-off before you get your car. And they also have beautiful sunsetsand you can have picnics there to they have grows there or you can bring your own

Best sunsets anywhere. Nice, clean beach, albeit a little rocky. Park is very well maintained with shelters, rest rooms, playground.

Beautiful Park, but having a typical southern Lake Erie beach. Better area beaches are Sunset Bay in Irving NY and Presque Isle Beaches in Erie PA more sand and cleaner.

I travel far and frequently for my job,I always try to find a park to relax and BBQ some dinner,I visited Point Gratiot several times over the last few days,and its an amazing space. Sitting right on Lake Erie,with grills and picnic tables and comfy benches,this one goes In my top 5! The restrooms were clean and neat,all the spots I hung out at were well kept,I met several friendly locals who were quite proud of this park and rightfully so.If you are ever in Dunkirk NY, swing in here and check it out, youll be glad you did!

Many family members have enjoyed this spot for decades.For picnics, family reunions and just a great place to go for the day with your kids or by yourself.

Although I love the Point Graciot area we recently rented the area known as the “ fireman’s grounds” a secluded part of the park for a family reunion. We have used these facilities in the past and been very happy. This past weekend ... not so much!!! The cooler truck that is a part of this rental never cooled!!! We called and they did Nothing!!! We had food spoil because of the city’s lack of response and no compensation whatsoever!!! We had at least 3 leaks in the pavilion as it did rain... on us!!! No real designated parking and we got “ parked in “ by other people using the park because the city blocked off parking because of the “ car show”. Really a sad state of affairs

A bit rocky but was a refreshing option while on a the road trip.

It’s definitely a far walk from SUNY Fredonia but if you have access to a car it’s only about 10 minutes. There have been bald eagle sightings here.

Natural beach on Lake Erie

Great little place to watch the sunset or unwind at the edge of Lake Erie. It was surprising uncrowded while we were there on the weekend.

Attended the Lake Shore Hot Rod Cruise. Was the most enjoyable cruise I have ever been to. Right in the park so shade was available. Right on the lake with beautiful views. Great food, great music, great time!

The beaches are decent, the pavilions are great for outings but the bathrooms desperately need attention.
