One of my dogs favorite places to be and to meet up with other dogs and friendly owners. Great area to bring your dog and take the leash off Monday through Friday from 4 to 6. Besides that the best trail in Pinellas County that keeps growing and getting better. Looking forward to continuing my support for this park and that there will be no other building on it. Its one of Dunedin cherished park and I hope they know that!!
This is a beautiful Oak Hammock with amazing Resurrection Ferns. Lots of trails to wander. Lots of interesting geocaches, disc golf and playground. The only negative would be the restrooms. They weren’t the worst I’ve seen, but needed upkeep. There wasn’t anything to dry your hands. Still very nice for a city park.
I think this is a great park right in the middle of suburbia. Easy trails, dogs allowed on lease, kayaking. It is popular and can be busy at times but I never felt like it was crowded. There is plenty of space to explore. Saw lots of birds and a couple of snakes. If you are into Geocaching there are quite a few in the park.
Very nice but had a hard time finding the right entrance where the garden club was meeting
Great place to walk and they allow dogs off leash weekdays 7-9am and 4-6pm. My pup has the best time!
Great location for trail runners including a mix of well maintained boardwalks, shaded gravel trails, asphalt loop, and dirt trails. Convenient restroom facility with a chilled water fountain as well.
Cool hidden gem. Mostly shaded walking paths. The disc golf course is fun and technical. Will go again.
This is a great park to bring your dogs because there is an off leash area, and then there are paths to walk through on leash. There is a huge grassy area surrounded by bushes and other interesting things for dogs to look at. There are also Raised Wooden pathways, and a birdwatching area. If you’re looking for restrooms these are available at one of the parking lots. There is more than one entrance to the park so you’ll have to find the one that has the restrooms which can be reached by car or when you are walking around all the various paths. We met many people who had been going to the park all their lives and have never seen an alligator which we asked about because there is water in the park. We have small dogs and we’re concerned about this point. We met many dog friendly people at the park. At one of the parking lot there is a hose so that you can wash off your dog before you get in your car.
We were so happy to discover this place. Nicely kept walking paths with many little detours to Kerri the whole family busy. The playground looks new and was a hit with the kids.
Great park with tons of fascinating wildlife. No restooms though! There is a few pic nic areas and grills along with some cool board walks. There are over 50 Gopher Tortoise burrows throughout the park, so please watch your step as they are a protected species. There are also many babies so be careful as they are about the size of a golf ball!
Good for a walk on a very dry day, but otherwise muddy. I sensed alligators were around me but I couldnt see them amongst all the mud, swamp, and vegetation.
Great for bike ride, walk or run on the side of nature in a peaceful environment.
Great park! Keep eye out for hidden painted rocks
Wonderful park for walking! One of the many reasons I feel lucky to live in Dunedin
More hype on the internet about the butterfly garden than what it actually is
Beautiful and well maintained trails...many trails to choose from.
Awesome park! It was our first time visiting for a nature walk. We will definitely be back.
Great trails for hiking and running all covered in shade
Big, bike or walk good location nature.
A hidden gem in the middle of the most densely populated County in Florida!Beautiful hiking trails throughout a Florida hardwood hammock. The fern trail is my favorite, leading into a forest so dense that the ground cover is a wide variety of ferns. To enjoy a taste of what wild Florida was like, the trails of Hammock Park take you there!
We actually went to Highland Park (around the corner on Michigan Ave) and found some trails, started walking around and came out here in Hammock Park. Im glad all of these awesome parks are so close to home, theres so much to do here, you can spend the entire day at this park and never get bored. My son loved the playground, I liked that it was CLEAN, no litter or dog poop everywhere. Theres a bunch of trails so you can bring your dog & let him run around, Im pretty sure theres a leash law, but most of the dogs we encountered were running around having a great (unleashed) time. You know your dog best, if he doesnt bite and comes when you call- good boy, if he eats little kids for lunch or may run after a wild animal and doesnt come when you call his name- bad doggie, stay on leash. Theres also a butterfly building or something and a really old church, both worth taking a look at.
This is a piece of natural beauty in the middle of town.
Saw large otters one time in the lower part of creek. I go there weekly and do some photography but other than that there isnt much ive seen for wildlife except small birds.
Very neat trails that wind around beautiful florida nature. The City of Dunedin and friends of the hammock group do a great job with the up keep of the area. Dunedin is in the process of installing new aluminum bridges to further upgrade the area and continue to allow safe access to the areas.
Great place for a peaceful walk in nature: paths, boardwalks, shelters, trees, bridges, salt-creek...what else do you need for a quick get away? It is also a great place to walk your dog… Just remember to pick up after your dog.
Great small park with many interconnecting trails that allow you to do short or longer hikes. Areas to launch kayaks too.
Heres a photo of the park map!Really enjoyable place with so many various parts. Surprisingly unique areas all throughout the park. This is a great place to come for small day hikes with all its paths and offshoots, that you will never see on the map due to being so numerous. The park could be cleaner, but this seems as if it may be an uphill battle with the public. There are many entryways and it lay in the middle of a highly residential town. It is by no means terribly dirty. Please dont litter, and if possible bring a small bag to collect a few pieces of trash.
Surprisingly nice trails. Great place for a nature walk.
Nature preserve hammock area with boardwalk (real wood) access from the Pinellas Trail. Could provide good uncluttered parking access to the trail, if you can find it in your car. Only discovered it recently as the boardwalks had hurricane blockage the last time I tried.Boardwalks and asphalt paths meandering among the hammocks. Standard park amenities including facilities, picnic shelters and a few grills for a cookout. Nice ( not so little) little out of the way nature area.
Great place. Large. U can play frelisbee golf, bring ur dog (after 5 no leash ), hike, grill and/or enjoy the nature.
Very quiet. Nice walking paths.
Hammock Park is a little parcel of natural Florida, undeveloped and unspoiled. There is a swing set for the young and young at heart in the clearing adjacent to the bathrooms near the parking area. There are some nice trails winding through the woods and there are a few benches along the path. Its a great place for dog walking or just going for a pleasant stroll and getting some solitude in the busy city.
Hammock Park is generally a pleasant place to visit, wander about the trails, and enjoy being close to nature. However, for a couple of months they have closed off more than half the trails in order to do bridge repair work. So presently, your choices are somewhat more limited.
The park itself was ok the pathways could have been more clear but the day I went it was a beautiful day. Some of the walk ways of wood needs to be fixed and some of the outlooks were all grown over. The butterfly garden look deserted.
Nice trails. Lots of wildlife.
Nature, its a lovely place to stroll in, jog in, have picnic in. Just to get away from traffic and everyday life!Would be VERY GOOD with tapwater to drink here and there...
Lovely shady little playground, with plenty of benches to watch the little ones play. No traffic worries, as its tucked in the back
Amazing day walking through the park. Cannot wait to go back an explore some more.
Great place to wander or jog around and dog friendly
Whether your making a splash, cranking a home run out of the park, or enjoying the arts, you can do it all and even more at this park. There everything short of overnight camping and fresh water sports like fishing and boating. If you want to take it inside, the community center has the AC cranked up keeping it cool!
Park has well maintained trails and walkways. Large selection of trails making for a extended experience if desired. There is grass, sand, gravel and dirt paths. A lot of shade covers the trails. There are picnic tables and covered pavilions. Dogs welcome in park. There is a frisbee golf course also. Really enjoyed the park. A definite return.
Beautiful but kinda buggy. It has a decent disc golf course if it hasnt rained in the last few days.
Nice walking park has picnic groves
Beautiful place for all ages and dogs!!
Lovely place. Lots of short trails. Well maintained. Multiple entrances but only one has parking. Park at San Mateo entrance no matter what gps says because the other entrances are for foot traffic. This park is on the Pinellas Trail. There is a restroom. Very dog friendly (free bag dispenser). This is a popular place to find and hide painted rocks (see: Kindness Project).
Amazingly beautiful park
Hammock Park is a local gem....a pocket of peaceful nature in the middle of a city. Disc golf, picnic facilities, a playground, a butterfly garden, and miles of trails - something for everyone. Lots of birds and other wildlife in addition to a great place for rock hunting.
It was awesome. I did not realise how big it was. Nice place to take dogs for a walk
Great Park for doggies, 9 hole disc course is fun, last hole kinda odd being over the parking lot. Ha.
A hidden gem really. So many nice trails. Quiet, serene, great playground for the kids. Very secluded and peaceful.
Love this park, dog friendly, nice trails
Hammock Park is an amazing gem on the heart of Dunedin. The name refers to the variety of micro-ecosystems (hammocks) in the boundaries of the park. Tall canopy forest, desert-like terrain, cedar forest, swamp, even ancient citrus trees from a bygone era, all can be found in Hammock Park. There are several entrances and plenty of parking and amenities like restrooms and a few covered picnic shelters. The west entrance features the beautiful Andrews Memorial Chapel. Even in the hottest weather the fauna provides excellent shade and cooler experiences.
Smallish park but nice trails. Almost no one else there the day we went.
My wife and I love this park! Its much larger than we first thought, so many little trails to walk and all the trees provide plenty of shade to be a comfortable hike. Weve seen woodpeckers, otters, and tortoises. The fountain water tastes alright even with that metallic-y taste in it. Have not tried bathroom sink water yet so cant comment.
Great Park. First time weve encountered hammock Park and weve had visited Dunedin for numerous years.
Great trails for walking. Feels like youre in a wilderness area when actually youre very near the city of Dunedin
Wonderful park for a walk, or bring the dog they love it too
Neat little park with some nice walking trails.
One of the most amazing places you can go to enjoy walking with the dogs fighting with the family bike riding hiking all the outdoor needs for Floridian out-of-towners as needed were here for you will take care of you dont hesitate to ask if you dont know where it is yours truly
Its amazing that this place is in the middle of the city of Dunedin. There are so many trees that are so breathtaking theyre so big and you see all kinds of birds and animals as you walk through the trails which are mostly dirt trails so you feel like youre really in the woods! Great place to go!
There are great trails and excellent nature scenes all throughout this beautiful little park.
I was visiting in the Dunedin area and was looking for a place to bring my dog to walk and this place exceeded my expectations. They have several walking trails, and many of the paths provide shade along the way. They also have tables/benches which also provide shade for a nice cool down. Highly recommend and would return again when I am in the area.
Great walking trails. It is taken care of well.Beautiful butterfly garden!
Free parking, shaded, easy to navigate, clean public restrooms. Nice place, Ill definitely walk there again.
The playground for kids are great also has a large field for activities. The butterfly garden didnt really have anything there to see. The plants were dried up and no butterflies in sight.
Amazing hidden gem located outside of Clearwater. This park offers extensive nature trails, perfect for any age! They also have picnic tables and a park for children. Love love love Hammock Park!!
A cute park that offers shade during these long and very warm afternoons. Its close to the Pinellas County Trail also for those who enjoy biking, running or just a brisk walk.
Beautiful local park, walking trails and disc golf!
Nice place to hike or bike. Definitely watch for snakes. This is near a butterfly garden and Historic Andrews Chapel. There is also park entry off of the Pinellas Trail.
Pretty nice park with entrances from all around Dunedin. Obviously when it is wet and humid you will want to use some sort of spray for the mosquitoes if sticking to the trails, or there are other open areas of recreation that do not require it as much. It is a nice stop from Patricia Avenue or Alt 19.
Lovely trails with plenty of shade! Off leash dog hours are awesome!!
Great park, has always been my go-to park for getting back into nature and away from everything. Great trails and lots of awesome wildlife and trees.
What a great nature reserve, huge near Lake Apoka, good facilities, well preserved, great wildlife and good signage. We got caught out in a thunderstorm for an hour, luckily under shelter and was a memorable experience shall we say for the family, as wildlife comes even closer to you!
Great place to walk around or go for a run
Fantastic park. Great walking trails. Very relaxing an a lot to see, especially if youre taking it slow and really looking. Check it out, you wont be disappointed.
This is an excellent park that has abundant history and is a prized possession for our area. Theres a park for the kids to play with restrooms and a water fountain. Theres a really nice frisbee golf set up. Many shelters available and resting benches throughout. The trails are well maintained and mostly wheel chair accessable, and in their natural state. Its well kept and an enjoyable experience all around. Plenty of shade. A few spots are swampy and the mosquitoes will eat you alive so just come prepared and youll want to keep coming back. Its not crowded and theres plenty of parking. Its a nice place to hold family gatherings or simply just an escape from the city hustle and bustle.
Good spot for a short walk
Beautiful park with gravel trails. This is probably a good park for mountain bikes but its a very nice walking trail with plenty of trees providing shade.
Beautiful park. Great trails, playground, bathroom and a little bit of parking.
Nice park with large mature trees and many trails for peaceful nature walks. The large playground area looks like a great place to take the kids too.
Beautiful park with trails.
Easy to get lost here but worth the visit.
Great spot, hard to believe youre in the middle of busy Pinellas County. Walking trails shaded by trees and picnic shelters.. a kids play area. Absolutely beautiful.
Love it!
Small little park. For the most part nice park. The biggest problem was lots of mosquitoes.
Its a very nice park. At certain times, you can let your dog off leach. The playground is very clean and safe.
Nice trails to see wild fruit trees
Great way to get back to nature.
Little local park. Nice walkway.
