I spent many weekends in my twenties at this place. I always had a great time. Best Goth club ever. Met tons of interesting people. Love the atmosphere.

Killer spot. Dont miss it.Unless you youre looking for a Miami beach/ Jersey shore type club experience. In which case, definitely miss it.

So Ive always loved the way this place is set up very much like a dungeon with amazing graffiti and other amazing art work all over the walls threw the whole place. Love the direction they are going in for music Im a huge DUBSTEP fan and they have been having some bangars there the main room is super trippy glowstick paint all over the walls there sound system and stage set up is dope as hell also great people great staff always about family respect and NO DRAMA definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out for yourself cover charge is always reasonable drinks are not expensive also there is no better feeling then being around good people great music in a dungeon like atmosphere stop by and become part of the family the staff is very nice all in all I recommend checking this place out only times I have been there is if I have been invited by friends and family to dubstep edm or techno how ever u wanna say it love the set up here tho maybe we will see u soon if so stop by say whats up just look for the guy with white eyes and a x in the middle see u soon

The club hours vary depending on whos booked the venue, day of the week, etc. Drinks are cheap and the staff is polite. Patrons are friendly and the music is quite good (taste may vary depending on the show). The building itself could use some looking after but if youre looking for a dark Detroit club you should give City Club a look.

Back in the day I went there with best buds at the time. Immediatly got hooked due to the industrial music goth crowd party seating and open dance floor. If your into that era music youll be happy you did.

This place is AWESOME.. it was the original Detroit Goth club in the 80s, it has that ancient architecture, graffiti covered walls, random lighting fixture brick and mortar feel that makes every show so much better.. they still have both nights, but all edm music shows have been using this venue, from Bass to Techno... GIVE IT A TRY AND FALL IN LOVE WITH OLD SCHOOL DETROIT! *the staff is AWESOME, drinks are cheap and I am going as often as I can!

The girl at the door told me my ID was fake then when I told her it wasn’t she called security. Terrible people.

Definitely one of the worst club experiences of my life. The door girl was rude, no one was there, it was some goth themed night so the music actually hurt our ears and they aren’t a true after hours anymore but they definitely still charged us cover to get in. We paid a $10 cover and left after less than 10 minutes of being inside. This place is so over.

Love this place! It may be grimey but that’s what gives it the charm.

Great club for industrial music and goth attire if thats your niche. Its great for people watching and the crowd is usually full of really courteous - but bizarre - people. The crowd size can vary depending on the night and can sometimes be a bit empty, but Ive usually still had a good time regardless. It can seem a little dirty, but that comes with the theme. Cheap cover and drinks too. The only major downside (which almost caused me to give the club a 3 star rating) is that the staff is consistently terribly rude. Ive been going here for years and the bouncers and barstaff are repeatedly unprofessional and inconsiderate. If you can look past that, fun place.

Revisited the place after years of not going and was not disappointed in the cheap cover, dark grimey, but welcoming atmosphere, 2 djs spinning great music and fast friendly bar service.

In a city of rebellious rave parties this venue falls short of a great time often berating and harassing party goers for smoking herb and drinking outside, the lady at the door is enough alone to drive a person to pick another party

The place is a dump, the drinks are overpriced, and the attendance died with the smoking ban, but dammit its still got its charm.

Been coming here since 1990...through the years my attendance has slowly dwindled,but on occasion I get the need for an outing of some real darkness,and I come straight to city club .. it’s where I belong still love it
