We have always had a great time and good food at Level 2. Servers and service on point and attentive. Very friendly and good people.
This was my first time out in the D. Great atmosphere, good music, and drinks! Would recommend to 20s & 30s who like to party. Great rooftop bar. Beautiful people. Reminded me of NYC with a more laid back vibe.
Relaxing chill spot. My friends and I were there to watch the Super Bowl. It was nice and low key. Best place to watch any sports. The sportscasters started talking Spanish was funny but we got them back to English lol. Amazing staff. Will go again!
Ive been to a lot of clubs for New Years Eve, even Time Square in New York City. Bringing in 2020 at Level Two with my friends was a fabulous memory that we will never forget. The service was fast and everybody was very friendly. I would recommend this club to anyone who wants to have a blast and create memories that will last forever.Shannon Easter
I was told to leave the bar with no apparent reason for it and when I asked why I was being asked to leave. Another bouncer came from behind me and grabbed me by the collar. Then proceeded to choke me with my shirt all the way out the bar. As he blasted my head against the wall down each step. My short was destroyed and I was even allowed to pick up my hat. If this place wasnt even such a joke to me. I would honestly consider pressing charges. Not to mention the fact that every drink costs an arm and a leg in itself. As for the owner. Expect a phone call this week. You will be buying me a new shirt and hat.
Awful place. I do not know how this place hasn’t closed down or been sued yet. Bouncers are awful and are money hungry and aggressive. When I went with a group of friends, we all in enter with $20 cover charge. However they pick people that they think are not “attractive or dressed nice enough” and forced one of our friends to pay a $40 cover to enter with us (for no reason stated).Nothing special on the inside, will never return.
Good food, also good service
Good food, good drinks & definitely a great place to party!!
We were bar hopping Greektown on a really slow Monday night this August. Level 2 had the only two bartenders who actually engaged in conversation and participated in our photo requests. Signature drinks were really good and we had a great time! Every other bar/bartenders were slow to service, seemed put out by us, and were a cross between bored and rude. Shout out to Joey and Deanna at Level 2, you guys made our night!!!
Good DJ but the cigarette smoke was thick enough you feel like you are going to gag amd die. As someone who has chained smoked before, this smoke was thicker than a bowl of oatmeal.
Bouncers try to charge you 20 at the door for any reason they feel like they will rip you off and scam you without a posted dress code place is over priced and the whole club is about 12ft by 12ft only good thing is the bartenders are fast
Had a great time with my boyfriend. But over priced drinks and I saw them reject a lot of people because they where not wearing smart shoes
Decent place, bartenders were cool. Drinks are way too over priced though.
Hip spot in the heart of Greektown! Good mix of people, drinks are reasonably strong and priced. Good bottle service with a light tapas menu if your eating. They have an awesome outdoor patio high up that allows smoking (for any of you smokers out there!) the views on top patio are awesome! Sooo if youre in the heart of Greektown and gambling isnt5you thing and youve already had dinner come dance under the stars at Level Two (weather permitting). Awesome DJs after 10pm most weekends, I only deducted a star for all those stars!
I walked in with a group of friends. They danced and I had to use the restroom. The manager kicked me out and told me I was a freeloader. Told me to buy a drink before I used the restroom. The manager looked under the influence of drugs. Would not return or recommend.
I went with couple of my friends here and the plan was very random! Inspite of the low rating been given to this place we did not give it a second thought as it had a view. Trust me the place was nice, food was good too and they offered us free shots! It made our day.
Stopped in for happy hour but the specials werent good so we didnt benefit, only cheap beer and well (cheap) liquor was included... Maybe because Im from another city and happy hour is so much more, my expectations were too high. Anyway, the food ordered was great although overpriced IMO. Our service was pretty good too.
Went in on a Friday night. Had to pay cover for guys (10$) which was kind of surprising for a place like this. The atmosphere was fun and the bartenders were nice. My problem with this place was how rude the support staff was. I was minding my own business in the corner talking to my friend when an unmarked employee pushes me and I ask him whats up. He continues to push me and I ask him what are you doing? He then says I am too drunk and kicks me out immediately. I assume he was making room for people and pushing me out of the way but as a patron at your bar I would expect you to be civil and simply ask me to move rather than push me first. I was kicked out and was freezing outside since my jacket was inside. The bouncer and the police officers outside would not help. Instead the bouncer hands off two girls to the police officer outside and he shamelessly flirts with them with a huge grin on his face. Detroit hospitality and Detroit police. Safe to say I will not be coming back to this bar.
Couldn’t get in because I was wearing “gym shoes” (Nike air max’s, the most expensive shoes I own) thankfully this place is a dump and I didn’t want to go anyways.
This place is absolute trash. If I could give it less than one star, I would. The line outside makes you think this place is going to be a good time but its anything but. Not only is it over crowded making it hard to move and dance, but people were breaking out in fights. Be careful of the imaginary VIP booths that people try to claim. You might just get kicked out of the middle of the dance floor because someone paid for that spot.
No gym shoes. If they dont want you in, you arent getting in. Dont even argue. Those bouncers are very selective.
Been here quite a few times throughout the last few years. Usually reserve a booth. Waitresses, bouncers and staff have always been great.
RACIST. A grown man assaulted my friend, a black woman, and when we tried to help her he punched me in the face and threw my other friend on the ground who is also black. He’s a big foreign guy probably Arab or Chaldean. He used “N” word with the “er” at the ends trying to accuse my friend of calling him that. All started because he was rude to my friend and didn’t let her in to the club because she was wearing brand new, rose gold Huaraches while letting other people, (white people) into the club with converse and vans right in front of her. He got super mad when she said “it’s fine, I get it, you don’t like black people” and then started cussing her out and told her to get out the line. When she said she’s not moving because she’s going to make sure her other friends (who got in with sneakers because they’re Caucasian) get out the club, he threatened to put his hands on her. When arguing back and forth he pushed her and started hitting her when she tried to fight back, when my friends and I tried to get him away he assaulted us as well. We filed a police report and the police didn’t do anything because they were friends with that guy.
Me and the hubby have been trying different places downtown and we stopped in this establishment twice. The first time was a few weeks ago on a Saturday. Sat at the bar and watched the game. Most of the bartenders/waitresses were pretty. Some nice, some not so much. It was really dead for a Saturday during a game. Drinks were okay and we expected to pay more than usual for drinks. We thought we would give it another try this past Saturday, left pretty unhappy. We arrived around 8pm, again not as many people as we would expect but again it was still a little early. Took at least 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were sitting at a table. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Appetizers were SO disappointing! Food was cold, had no taste, just bad overall. Drinks were watered down the first time we got them so we sent them back. We are really down to earth people and dont expect everything to be perfect but it just wasnt a good experience. We left hungry and in search of good drinks....
I have had the same problems with the SAME bouncer multiple times. We live and work in Detroit as do all our friends. My husband is a graphic designer and Im a software developer, and we all steer clear of this place. Ive left numerous messages for the manager and have yet to receive a phone call. I plan a big party for our birthdays every year, and we will definitely be spending our 30th birthdays with all our friends, who also live and work in Detroit, somewhere else. Our last problem with this idiot came when he told my husband that his khaki pants and sweater were sweatpants. They racially profile here worse than any other place weve been to, and weve lived in Ann Arbor, Royal Oak and Troy for a decade. Im Jewish, and every time I have brought my husband with me to this joke of an established there has been an issue. They definitely have a quotation because we will stand outside with other minority patrons waiting to get in while we watch dozens and dozens of white guys wearing sneakers, jeans and sweatshirts get in no problem. Ive never had an issue getting in with any of my white friends, ever, whether I was dressed up or not. If youre a minority they will find 101 excuses to tell you to wait and that you cant get in. This place is a disgrace to the entire downtown area.Im still waiting for a call back from the manager...
Went here last night to celebrate my brothers birthday. While waiting in line we saw bouncers taking hundreds of dollars from people to get into the bar, making them take off their hats and then keeping them, and taking the guest list and physically shoving in a girls face. Also while waiting in line, saw three young guys being shoved and thrown down the stairs by an over aggressive bouncer with excessive force. My friend asked the bouncer to ease up to which he responded by grabbing and tearing off his shirt and proceeded to put him in a choke hold. He stopped after seeing me video taping him. The bouncers are supposed to be there to maintain control, yet they are the thugs that are causing all of the trouble by over asserting their power on men and women who are smaller than them and are of no threat to anyone. Its no coincidence that you only see this happening to younger guys and women. Level 2, rather than employing a bunch of thugs with an animal like mentality, do yourselves a favor and hire some people with a bit of training and rational thinking, who better represent your business. If you are looking to have a good time DO NOT GO TO LEVEL 2 in downtown Detroit. They are infamous for having over aggressive bouncers who take advantage of their patrons by taking their belongings, man-handling the men AND WOMAN waiting in line taking hundreds of dollars from people just to cut the lines. Whats worse is that the business owners stand by these barbaric employees. DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO LEVEL 2. You are better off going next door to EXODUS.
While walking past to get in line, watched the doorman smack a guy several times for standing next to the heater. Then the owner sat and said it was ok that his doorman did it. Avoid this place at all costs. Lets not mention that its over priced.
Complete trash. The bar tenders and waitresses were dressed so skanky it made me feel completely uncomfortable being there. I over heard several others while sitting outside complaining about it as well so I’m not the only one who felt this way. The inside was to dark and both inside and outside area were to loud.
****DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE***This place is complete trash. Rude bouncers. Terrible owners. ALL OF THE 1 star reviews are completely true! I wish I could give it a negative amount of stars.
Terrible bouncer. My husband and I are black. I dont usually resort to calling people racist but the bouncer was racist. He wouldnt let me or my husband in due to us wearing casual gym shoes. Which would of been ok, but he then precide to let at least 6-7, white people in wearing gym shoes. They were regular patrons without a booth. Please people of color avoid this place. The money of ethic people carry so much weight, do not support businesses that dont support or appreciate you.
RUN RUN as fast as you can. This place is sad for a night club in Downtown Detroit. My daughter and her male friend was treated badly here they both was jumped on and sent to the E.R. for the wounds inflicked by the bouncer of this establishment along with some of her female staff jumping in the mix. They took her phone so she couldnt call anyone along with her money and pulled out her hair. After hearing the story from three people. This is soooo sad to say they are still open after I personally just read the reviews of how people are treated here and to be in downtown Detroit at that when we need business to come back WOW. The owners of this place dont care how his guess are treated .they need to close this establishment asap. Hello Mayor of Detroit read this.
Always crowded and overpriced drinks and cover. Usually a fun night out but usually never worth looking back on.
For starters the bouncer is very rude, my friend told me he threw her out for not having the right shoes. They put their hands on her. He should get fired for it or this place should be closed down. Dont go here alone also especally if your a women I wouldnt say this is a safe place. Please dont go here go to mgm or motor city their has to be somewhere else.
Wish I could give this place zero stars. We had reservations with a group of people and bottle service / private booth yet were denied entry while the doorman / bouncer tried to extort us for our cash. Half of our group was already inside mind you. We also showed up on time and were supposed to be free cover for everyone but that was also a ruse. Ended up waiting outside for over an hour while the bouncer mocked the birthday girl who we were with. He would say happy birthday as he let people he knew in for free who were not in line. Which is strange because they were at max capacity, but hey whats a few more of his friends while the paying customer with reservations stands outside in the cold. Service was terrible inside and never got the drink I requested. Some people also seemed to be allowed to smoke inside. If you want to be disrespected, extorted, and have an all around terrible experience this place is for you.
They only care about making money, $20 cover charge, and then when I get inside, theres like million people in there stuffed like a pack of cigarettes! They keep letting people in regardless of the capacity. Also not everyone can go up to the roof because its VIP and you have to pay to be there. And it was very dark inside.
Went for drinks and food before the game to see my fav girl !! Everything was amazing nachos and beers but left my table for the bathroom ... left two drinks and the rest of nachos on the table along with a wallet and they cleared our table and drinks and made us pay for new ones like it was our fault. Bad management!!! Blamed our server when the bar back that just walked in cleared our table and had to literally lift the wallet to wipe he table down. Poor customer service on the management!!!
Super hot bartenders and also great service! The atmosphere is really fun!
I had never been there before and my sister wanted to go for her bachelorette party. Saved 2 tables up on the rooftop for 30 people. Their was not even enough room for 11 girls to sit. When I talked to mike about reserving tables he said we had to get at least one bottle serves per table. He gave me the prices with $120 the cheapest. When we got there they said we had to get a total of 4 bottles and the cheapest was $180. When I went to talk to him about all of this he was rude and kept telling us to just leave. I ended up talking To one of the managers. We only bought 2 bottles of liquor and she gave up a round of shots. Still did not make up for the hassle of it all. Would never go back there again!!!
DO NOT GO HERE. The bouncer threw my boyfriend down the stairs, pushed me into a wall, and followed us down the street and pepper sprayed us directly in the eyes. The cop outside watched this all happened and did not do a single thing. My cousins that were with us went to speak to the cop and ask a few simple questions and he continued to respond that he didnt have to give them any information, threw my innocent cousin on the cop car, handcuffed him, and gave him a ticket for disorderly conduct. Most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced. Do not waste you time and money going here.
Bad Phone Conversation ....Not A Good Detail Talker
Excellent location. Great drink selection. Alittle pricey but all the bars were in that area. Perfect views from the outdoor balcony
Told a friend she was too old to be there...in her thirties...
I wish i could give this place less than 1 star. They were racist and problematic
Great staff, food, and drinks!!
More like level 0. My first time here last night and I will not be returning. Low class low quality establishment. All the bouncers want to be greased up with cash which is annoying and disrespectful. Plenty of better places to go in Detroit.
First time Downtown in awhile and went bar hoping, was excited to go to level, Walked in Dancing, the DJ was playing Depasito, then all rap from there on! Bartender was great, we were there for a good hour n half and couldnt take it anymore my daughter approached the Dj and asked if he could change it up a little, his response was very rude and disrespectful, no class about him, then I approached him and he said If you dont like what Im playing you can leave Well we did just that and will NEVER EVER go back there! The so called Manager was a joke and should be fired! Our first round of drinks were 43.00 and we had 3 rounds, thats $ its 2017 it shouldnt be about race but thats how we felt unfortunately
Felt kind of overrated. Hot, stuffy crowds with no one dancing.
Very bad. Basically the door man plays you to steal money by letting in only the people who pay him on the side or leave you wait in line an hour or more! The atmosphere is bunch of children!!!
Please Read Before you go to LEVEL TWO BAR AND ROOFTOP: Saturday evening I was simply standing in line, at Level 2 Bar with some of my friends who have also been to bars all over the world, when we witnessed this: one particular bouncer who decided tonight was his night to shine and unleash his inner anger or demons on various victims one by one. I watched as he chose innocent people in line, or leaving the bar one by one to push around, punch, choke out or pick a fight with for absolutely no cause or reason! I watched him throw an innocent young man to the ground who simply walked by at the wrong time. I witnessed him yelling and harassing young women who simply were out to have a good time with their friends, causing no harm whatsoever. I watched him, along with two other power trip bouncers push someone down the stairs only to further assault him when he was in absolutely no wrong and simply was trying to explain something. They further proceeded to punch and knock someone into a garbage can who was completely helpless and not looking for any trouble or harm whatsoever. Then the WORST act of all I witnessed was with the gentlemen standing in front me. I had time to observe this man while in line and he was a courteous young man waiting the entire time in line. Once all of these despicable acts were observed, it left many of us in shock and frightened by these bouncers ready to go off on the most innocent people and just looking for their next innocent target to assault. The poor lad in front of me was unfortunately the next victim as he simply tried to speak up after watching an innocent man to be punched in the face and thrown the ground for NOTHING in front of him. When he said, That guy was innocent and didnt do anything! The bouncer turned around and pushed him to the ground, ripped off his shirt and choked him to the ground. This horrified so many people and my group of friends and I could not believe what we were witnessing. This was the most discrimination, unjustified, harassment and assaults I have ever seen in only 40 minutes of being in line!! Who knows what else happened that evening and so many others. This poor guy was simply minding his business all night in line and for simply speaking up in the most courteous way for another stranger who was assaulted, was beat down and left shirtless and injured. I advise anyone and eveyone to PUT THIS BAR and these BOUNCERS out of business for their despicable, hateful, wrongful acts this evening that left me horrified as well as so many others. These bouncers do not deserve to be working or get away with this and together people need to speak up to take a stand for this! They need to be put away for their acts! I urge everyone to pass this along and send this to anyone you know who has also been victimized by these bouncers. Spread the word and put a stop to this!!
This place is terrible. After receiving horrible service from the rude bartenders, I left no tip (I am a server myself and do not do this often, only when the service was seriously terrible). When I looked at my credit card statement I realized that they charged me for a tip well over 20%. This is illegal! I called management, who said they would look into and call right back, they never called back and did not answer any of the calls I made after. My friend also never got her credit card back after paying; she nicely asked the bartender if she could check behind the bar, maybe it had fallen down. The bartender responded with no I didnt take your card. We told her that were never accused her of that, and were wondering if maybe it just fell behind the bar. She then took our drinks that were full, dumped them out, and called security to shove us down the stairs and out of the building.
Bouncer charged me an extra $20 for boots when there’s no rule against it. The manager brushed me away and said there was nothing he could do about it.
I was assaulted by the bouncers for absolute reason! I was kicked and pushed down a flight of stairs. The bouncers also threw my girlfriend against the wall. As we proceeded to walk out the club the bouncers followed us down the street and pepper sprayed my girlfriend and I. Do not go here. Check the reviews. The same bouncers are mentioned doing the similar things to innocent people.
Terrible place with terrible service waitress name amber didn’t bring us anything we asked for, when it cAme time to pay the bill she didn’t bring our change back which was about 13 dollars then go say we didn’t give me that. Once she did bring the money she responds with here’s a lil extra I know you need it. We asked her if we could see a manager she tells us to go find him. Then lies about what she said To us manager Mike did nothing about it. Will never go there.
The DJ is great, loved the view, and ladies free cover (maybe thats only before 11 though...i got in at 10:50)!
Security Guards down there don’t know how to behave. Violent in behavior and didn’t even how to listen to people and very rude.
Not sure why 3 stars..went 2 times in 2 days on vacation..had great service good food and terrific views. Location is perfect.
Pretty cool upstairs bar/club. Drinks are moderately priced
The only reason for 5 stars is because our bartender George was amazing! We will be back to see him!
Decent rooftop in Greektown. $20 cover charge on Saturdays sting, though the drink prices are reasonable.
Great place, no glass view of downtown Detroit. Great food, I just wished that we had a better waiter.
To whom it may concern. I went to the place last night with a party of 10, and Id like to address a little situation that happened, which really concern me because Im very confident its not the first time and that i was not the only one of the night that noticed. Just rolling in me and my group go through the bouncers and I happened to hold myself back for 1 min to tie my shoes. As Im walking in Im told theres a $10 which is nothing, thus Im carrying no cash and waived at one of my pals to come down to resolve this as my friend is walking down, lady cashing in, yells at the bouncers to get me kicked out since she though I wasnt going in, in seconds Im LITERALLY kicked out as a dog by the two so called gentlemen at the door (bouncers) I not only get kicked out but the little white chubby bouncer is trying to articulate how if Im not paying to go get lost and stop holding the line back, and so is the big brown bouncer next to him. Long story short, my friend got me paid, I ended up closing a $700+ USD tap in about 2 hours and had a great conversation with the gentleman at the restroom (Raymond) which you can clearly tell is a man of principles and very explicit manners. All Im going to say is to the management is that, YOUR bouncer are the front line of your business, and ME as a business owner know that the impression the they project is a direct reflection of their higher ups. So, please I invite you to review your staff and reflect upon the fact that people are the ones that make up your business and when people that work very hard for their money, like Im sure everyone in your team does and so is everyone that chooses to spend it in your place of business the least you can do for them is show them a little hint of respect. Review, assess and correct; and hopefully you might even get more business out of a good training session. Bar on and good luck trying to educate chimps.
Waited in for an hr, then got to the front and waited for another 15 minutes only to be told we had to pay an extra $20 on top of the $20 cover for wearing gym shoes......
This place is a SCAM. Guys pay up to 40$ just to get in. after the “owner” disrespectfully pushes us off to the side while waiting in line. Do not support this business
The worst place I’ve ever been, the crowd was breaking into fights and the bouncers were defending the people who were instigating the fight. Horrible place. Horrible vibe. Not worth coming here ever.
Way beyond capacity, couldnt get in, still wouldnt give money back. Waste of $40. Terrible...
This place was a riot on thanksgiving
Best rooftop in Greektown. The atmosphere is so great!!!
A beautiful view of Greek town while.you enjoy good food??? - Im in
The rooftop was closed when we were there, but the drinks were amazing!!
Delicious food and amazing service! Dan was our bartender and he made our night!!
Was standing by the wall for maybe ~ 1 minute while waiting for my friend to use the restroom, so we could leave for the night. Bouncer came up and rudely demanded that I move because I was standing in his spot . Never even seen anyone else stand where I was at that moment all night. Power tripping bouncers looking to start a fight
Shady bartender. DO NOT HAND THEM YOUR CARD .
Unless you want to be treated disrespecfully by their bouncers, go somewhere else. overpriced, horrible service, also witnessed the bouncers letting in people under 21 for $.
Worst place ever . The bouncers behaviour is worse to the people. I will not recommend anyone to use this place for safety reasons .
Have witnessed the bouncers using unnecessary force and even injured multiple individuals that were as cooperative, as they could be, as they were kicked out of this bar. I have also heard similar stories from others that have gone to this poorly managed bar.
Bouncers are very disrespectful and rude, first time in my entire life to see bouncers fighting and hitting Costumers. Btw I saw that more than once
Had a blast I was there on Friday night!
Staff is nice here. The bouncers here want your cash, and they are rude.
This place is an absolute joke
Rudest bouncer ever. Horrible. Avoid.
Went here for an evening out; It was pretty classy which was nice but it was super crowded for such a small venue, and there were times even I (a 62 200lb dude) felt a bit stifled.
Reserved a booth and purchased multiple bottles here even so the bouncer were extremely disrespectful to my and my guest charged hundreds of dollars just to let them for the booth with out waiting in line and showed extreme prejudice in the ppl the were allowing in ahead of the line booth or not don’t spend money here
Fridays are a little dead, but Saturday is the night to go Id youre looking for a good time.
Good shots, great music
Nice place
Great place great staff
NIce place!
Nice lounge
Disgusting place. Will not go there again
Classic gender discrimination on opening day. Girls free cover. Guys $10.
Watered down, overpriced drinks
Fantastic service
Apparently their bouncers throw people down stairs.
Expensive, but classy
Worst bar on earth
