I was very surprised with how many activities this place had to offer and the wide variety of science based learning centers there were. There was definitely enough to learn about to warrant a couple more trips there. I wonder if there was more staff on the floor back in the day? The only disappointing thing was that some of the centers or activities were broken, not working, or very worn down and misaligned. Hard to teach children about anything when its broken.

Great place to take the kids. There is stuff to do for them everywhere! But not only will it be fun for them, youll have a great time too. I could go on listing all the stuff they have here but I wont. Ill just say this; The forces that govern our existence are complex. But when shown in a model, one we can see and touch. Even the youngest minds can create an understanding. This place does that very well.

The best part about our whole experience is that the children learned a lot. Definitely worth the membership.

I recently stopped in here with my son and some friends during a free event they were having. It was the first time I had been in years—probably since I was in middle school or something. Its normally quite pricey, but they do these sponsored events from time to time (with admission being free), so that is definitely something you want to look out for and keep in mind. They have a ton of different hands on exhibits, and things to do while learning a lot of new things. Its definitely geared mainly toward kids, and the best part about that is that there is something to do for kids of all ages. Unfortunately when we were there, it seemed like there were quite a few non-working exhibits, and several other things that were under construction. They also have a cafe that you can grab a bite to eat at—Im not sure exactly what they have to offer as it was closed when we were there, but there is food and drinks available. There are also several vending machines located throughout the entire place. It was also quite busy, which I am sure is based on the fact that it was a free event. I imagine its considerably less busy on a regular basis. They also offer valet parking right outside of the building, but I would personally advise using the lot across the street, there is ample parking available and its a few bucks cheaper than valet—and we all love a bargain right? When all is said and done, this a great place to bring your little curious explorers for some good weekend fun. I hope the next time I am in, they have everything up and running. That would make the experience even better.

The only reason this review isn’t 5 stars is because the maintenance has not been kept up. Honestly, for the price of things the upkeep is under impressive. My 3 and 5 year old grandsons had fun, and quickly moved on from broken things, but still. We didn’t have time to do the movies or special events but did have a good time.We spent a lot of time in the 5 and under area which they really enjoyed; especially the water activity.

This museum is amazing. I took my 6 year-old, we were there just after they opened and stayed until they were closed. He was thoroughly entertained the entire time. The live science demo shows they put on are a blast, and included in admission. The BASF kids lab was the best (space was limited, so plan ahead and be there early if your kid wants to attend chemistry lab). The kids made their own lotion today. There was so much fun stuff, I hope to go back soon. Walking across the mini Mackinac bridge was just the beginning of all the fun. Definitely would not pay the regular entrance fee for such a poorly maintained museum.

Visited the Michigan Science center with my daughters 4th grade class for a field trip. There are many interesting exhibits. I am not sure if they overbooked school groups for the day but it was quite loud and chaotic. It was definitely fun for the kids but even when they did a presentation on combustion in the theater area there was so much background noise you could hardly hear. Also be careful where you park. I parked on a nearby side street and came out to find a $45 parking ticket. I did not see a parking meter anywhere.

Buying the annual pass is worth it, especially if youre close! My children have spent a great deal of time here and they always still find something new to discover. I wish the shows were updated more often, which is a downside of holding a pass youll see the same shows running for a while. But there are so many interactive exhibits spending a couple hours here will only show you a few, so when you come back its a whole different experience. Staff is friendly and goodness the cafe is so well priced. All in all its a good time. Get the yearly pass its worth it!

The lunch area was DISGUSTING. After several request they did not clean the area. Then the lady who was running the cash register said that they have staff that clean it and they were probably cleaning the lunch area downstairs. I asked if she would give me a bar mop to clean the tables and she said not to worry about it that the staff would get it and they didnt have any bar mops. After 30 minutes the same woman came out and wiped down the condiment counter with a bar mop. There were no available staff to assist with locating the lunch area after we informed that we were being relocated. The ENTIRE experience was ridiculous. Multiple exhibits were out of for repair such as the water station in Kids Town. Just throw the whole damn Science Center away
