Basilica of St. John

We loved this church Beautiful church and prayers Love to go there every week. Feeling so peaceful whenever I go to basilica of St. John.

Ive been to Mass here several times when in town. The 10:30 Festive Sung Mass is beautiful and very spiritual. The basilica itself is one of the most beautiful churches Ive seen.

Beautiful Basilica. I went on a Friday during Lent for a fish fry. After eating, I spent a few minutes viewing the Basilica itself. Viewing it at night doesnt do it justice. Will definitely come back for mass or during the day.

Beautiful! The eagle is a sign for St. John the Baptist. It was fun to look for all the eagles presented in the artistic design of this beautiful Basilica.

I really enjoy that St. Johns has a Saturday daily mass in the morning!

Beautiful church, solid liturgy!

Ive been a member at the Basilica for going on 2 years now. It is a very beautiful church and mass is some the traditional way.

Nice architecture

We have gone here off and on for many years. This is the best Catholic Church to attend in the diocese, especially if you are more on the conservative side. They have the best choir around. They have a large homeschool community. The downfalls are that they do not have a cry room, the gated parking lot is small and it is in a sketchy neighborhood.

This Basilica is truly one of Iowas treasures. The beauty of the space lifts me out of myself and draws me into prayer. The worship services are awe inspiring. It is not my home parish but I attend Mass at the Basilica regularly, most often during the week at noon. There is such a feeling of reverence amongst the congregation and you sense that they fully believe that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist and that the veil between Heaven and Earth in thin during the mass.

Perhaps the only place in Des Moines where a Catholic can find a revrent Novus Ordo service in an elevating and beautiful space on a consistent basis.

Beautiful place of worship. Everyone is friendly and you will find fellowship with countless Christians from just every ethnic group on the face of the earth yet duringMass we all become one praying and praising God.

Beautiful Basilica. I was married here and had all three of my children baptized here all by Father Aquinas. Active Knights of Columbus council.
