Beautiful walk / ride around the lake. On one side, you can see downtown Denver, from the other you can see the mountains.Nice 2.5 mile trail with alternate paths that go by convenience stores, shopping centers, and quiet residential areas. Live music weekly, weather permitting. Highly recommend

Gorgeous lake and park in East Denver! The lake has a pedestrian loop that is ideal for runners and walkers alike (about 2.5 miles), and is well visited by the locals. Its a bit out of the city center, but on the east side of the lake there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops on Sheridan avenue.

Sloans lake was fun and a cool place to hang out but there are lots of people there and no where to park. Not a place to go if your trying to get away from people. But the lake itself is nice and a good place to take your animal or kids, there is a park right by and tennis court or basketball hoops to shoot some ball, very family oriented.

Sloans Lake is a super nice park to walk. A 2.6miles trail makes it great for doing laps. There are plenty of spots with shade to rest yourself. If you need to rest during your workout benches are placed throughout the park. If a picnic is what you desire, so many places to choose from. There is something at the park for every age range. As for me I do 3 or more laps 4 to 6 days a week. See you there. Kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing all acceptable activities at Sloans Lake Park.

Though most of the parking lots and perimeter streets are blocked, there still seems to be enough parking for all who wish to stroll around. Some fishing and on the water activity (but limited). Takes 35-50 min for a pleasant stroll around the main path depending on your pace. People are generally staying socially distanced and dont seem to be collecting the way they do at Wash Park or Cheeseman.

I love going for my daily walk around the lake. Such a beautiful walk after a long day. People are always working out. It’s a long walk. It’s great place to start working out. Fun festive during the summer time. Great place to take the whole family. Just have to remember it is a lake so you have to pay attention with the little ones and pets.

We tried taking our dog to go swimming but lake was closed due to high dangerous algae counts. Not the fault of the park, its natural. However, a majority of streets and parking lots were closed for some reason, making it difficult to navigate to and from the park. Maybe Covid related? I would say for a quick walk with the dog its ok, but underwhelming. A few harmless homeless loitering around the park, due to proximity to city.

Just moved to Denver. Sunday morning at 8AM this park was absolutely trashed. The parking lots were filled with trash, the playground had trash on it, the lake had trash floating in it! I am exploring parks around my area but this was unfortunate due to the build up of friends. I will most likely go back for a second chance because I live here now. So glad I didnt buy a house around the lake like I was thinking...

Sloans Lake is a beautiful place to catch the sunrise or sunset. You can see the downtown skyline, and you can see the mountains. On a clear day, you can make out the water tower in Old Towne Arvada.Theres a huge running path around the lake - very popular with joggers. For most of the route, there are two paths: sidewalk and gravel. This time of year, its a good place to see goslings. (Not Ryan.) When we visited last weekend, the baby geese were out in force. We stalked six of them (from a safe distance) for about an hour.

Nice convenient large park from downtown Denver with a boating lake, permits required for boats. Public childrens playground are next to Tennis courts on both sides of park. Several large open green spaces across street for soccer, frisbee etc. Watch out for goose poop though! Paved trail around the lake. Only negative is this place is very popular with joggers, hikers, bikers and families so trails are busy. Several parking areas and lots. Restaurants, breweries and pubs across street. Pictures are of baby barn swallows at the boathouse.

The park has shops and food along half of its perimeter and residential on the other. The bathrooms are heated during the winter. One of the largest lake parks (if not thee) in the Denver metro area that offers it all. Its 2 and a half miles around and offers a concrete 2 way path and a gravel path that runs parallel along side it for joggers. The views are truly beautiful either direction. To the west the mountain range and to the east downtown. The path is typically moderately busy during the afternoons & weekends. It offers playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts and allows fishing. I wouldnt recommend riding your bike around the 2 way path during busy days because of all the walkers/joggers. There are parking lots on all sides of the park including streetside parking. When I think of Sloans lake, Im also thinking of the businesses across on the other side of Sheridan and Edgewater which connects with Lakewood on the west side pf the park. There are restaurants, Target, Kings, Joyride (which has a nice patio view), dispensaries, and other random businesses like the doll hospital. I hear Ohana Grille is really good and you should check out a local favorite Edgewater Inn for some really good pizza. Tons to do the area, enjoy, and dont litter!
