The National Western Stock Show was awesome!! We got there right at 8am for the best parking... many of the exhibits don’t open until 9 bit there was SO MUCH TO SEE that really didn’t matter!! From the Children’s area that has the petting zoo (which we also got in line early for:)) to walking around and seeing SO MANY different animals...and BABY animals :)-it was PERFECT! There are shops galore and we went on the second to last day so were able to get some good deals on different items! If you haven’t gone, I would highly recommend it! Wear comfortable shoes for lots of walking and a bag to carry all your stuff in ... have a great time with your kids or on a date! Worth the time and money!!
Took the family to the stock show yesterday. Compliments the organizer and their staff for the warm hospitality and nice family experience. Everything was well run and all staff we encountered were very friendly, which is a pleasant surprise from so many other special events. It was especially appreciated to NOT be frisked and treated like a criminal or smuggler (I will not even go to the Pepsi Center any more because of this).
We have a job going on for a few. The place is great. So much history. Kind of a shame its large remodel is changing the face. But its time
Always a great time at the stock show. The kids level was GREAT, pony rides, petting zoo and an agriculture area sponsored by CSU. Very Hands-On and lot of activities. Really really was happy to see a nursing area!!! That was private and NOT the bathroom. Coming on the weekend so the lines were really long. With a toddler its almost impossible to wait for more than one activity. The petting zoo was a zoo with little movement. We went downstairs to the animals stalls and actually got to get close to the animals, no petting but it was quite, we could talk to people and it didnt require waiting in line. Suggest for Toddlers skip the petting zoo and go downstairs to look at animals for a better experience. Also the stock dog trails were very fun to see! Was very entertaining and interesting to watch. I wish there was more areas for seating around the food vendors. We sat on the floor, but maybe I missed something.
Im neither a rodeo nor a stock show person and I dont find the trade show aspect of this event very interesting either. However, yet another feature is the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale and I am an art lover. The art show dates to 1993 and attracts top artists from all over the country. The general theme is western art, but everything from sculpture to abstraction to impressionism to realism is included in a wide variety of media. The quality of the work is top-notch.Since 1994 the National Western has purchased one work each year for its permanent collection. These are, unfortunately, not currently on public display. Proceeds from the show go to the National Westerns scholarship program. The art show is currently tucked away in a back corner of the third floor of the National Western Complex. It will have a much larger and more prominent location in the planned National Western Center, along with display space for the permanent collection. The National Western offers extensive free parking and a free shuttle bus to the various outlying lots and to the main buildings. This makes getting to the event quite easy. You do need to pay the grounds admission fee to access the art show, but theres a free day each year that waives this charge.
Cool! My sister had a cheerleading competition here. Only things are that the seats and floor were quite messy, and the prices on the foods and drinks were pretty high. Otherwise, cool place!
My experience here was great. I absolutely loved it. Me and my class had alot of fun. I definitely recommend going here when you can.
Although I hate the rodeo and my husband and friends love it, they will still go sometimes because that’s their thing not mine!We have been going off and on for the last at least 28 years most of those years we venture out just to see the animals and the gadgets. I have bought a vita mix, heaters, tools salsa maker and the list goes on and on. Look for the Mink oil products.Love this farming adventure to see how a lot of people in the country live and grow up.I love going there, I WOULD highly recommend going, look at the schedule ahead of time to see what they’re doing.
My expectations were high and I got disappointed. It is crowed, the animals are all on top of each other, there is lots cheap shopping and parking is hell. I am glad they looking for another location. Stock shows in my hometown is so much nicer.
We were here for the gold and treasure show. We had a great time and took home some awesome goodies! We really enjoyed the gold panning station. Hoping they return again next year! Give this place and its events 5 stars for sure. Just a fair warning though... food and drinks here are not cheap. Paid 11.50 for a Coors light. So, make sure you have cash or a card in your pocket if you plan on eating or drinking at any of the events here.
This is a several day long event with things to do for everyone! I thoroughly enjoyed shopping at all the various vendors and finding some neat items to bring home. Also enjoyed watching different livestock shows and especially the llamas! Food seemed reasonably priced for an event like this and the shuttle buses were a life saver!I unfortunatly didnt get a chance to go to the rodeos but that was due to scheduling issues on my part so hopefully next time!
We love coming every year in January, and keep coming back for the variety of events, including the Colorado Fiddling Championship, Draft Horse Show, and the wide variety of stock animals, vendors, rodeos, and food trucks
We love the stock show. Great animals and jewelry and different types of vendors. The one downside is that food there is REALLY EXPENSIVE. Make sure you eat before you go and then just get a snack or beer there.
Well I had to work there prior to its reformat.STABLES! .However I was well paid, fantastic genuine people and I got to see and ride some magnificent horses . So it all worked out
I have been going since I was very young and love it every bit as much now as I did then. What a great tradition and celebration of the West!
Had a wonderful time. Lived in Colorado for over 30 years and this was my first time there. Make sure you go early in the day so you can still walk to your car when youre done.
We attended the Alpaca show. It was fun to watch. We enjoyed seeing the animals and the goods made from the Alpaca. It was unclear where to park or enter the event. It was cool to see the old building.
Get your cowboy on and come out to one of Denvers most iconic, annual events. Youll love the rodeo announcers banter as youre served up one bucking bronco after another twisting bull. Theres tons of excitement to be had in that little stadium. Then, dont miss the hundreds of vendors throughout the complex. Some of this stuff you can only find at the Stock show.
Went to the complex but actually went to the gem jewelry and fossil show. It was amazing!
Its a convention center thats been temporarily converted to house metro Denvers homeless population since about a month after the initial virus outbreak. They do quite a bit to keep everything clean but when you put 300-400 homeless people in one big room sharing five bathrooms this temporary solution for the homeless during the virus is sadly becoming unsanitary quickly.. not because effort isnt taken by the staff that have been hired to manage the makeshift shelter, they do clean as much as possible. Like I stated before, 400+ homeless in one location using 5 toilet stalls its going to get bad!
I always go to the stock show every year with the family. We typically steer clear of the food stands because of prices but we enjoy walking around all the different vendors to see what cool things are being sold. We always would watch the rodeo because not only is it inexpensive but who wouldnt want to watch a clown jump in a barrel and get smashed by a bull? Cant wait for next years stock show when I have some land!
Our time hear has been a rough ride for sure. But as a DRM employee Ive learned a lot about crisis management and its been great to provide shelter and food to people experiencing homelessness in an uncertain time.
Had a great time. Loved seeing all the animals. The babies are so cute. Watched the draft horse show. It was great. It was so funny watching the mules barrel race. I also enjoyed the beautiful prancing horses. The big strong horses doing the weight pulling was sure something to watch. They seem to love trying to pulled the heavy sleds. This is a great place to bring the entire family...young or old. Parking is free and they have free shuttles. Plan to spend the day.
Pretty cool place with different animals to look at and a great petting zoo! The arena is cool too and there are events that happen there off and on all day. The stock yard is great too and had buffalo, yaks, and even Texas Longhorns. Great educational experience for the whole family!
Took my mother-in-law to the draft show competition. She hasnt been to a show like this since she was young. We had a great time!!
Great time at the stock show and rodeo.
Went to the All-Star Rodeo with a few friends. We hard a great time. Being an ex-Rodeo participant myself it was nice to sit down, have a cold beer amd watch the entertainment.
Loved it this year. The announcer at the rodeo gave a ton of information as to why the scores were high or low. Loved that change this year! Only complaint is that they had the main horse barn closed on 1/19. That was always a highlight for the family, petting horses.
Always a great time! Weve gone as a family since my kids were babies and now theyre in their twenties. We plan a day off from work and spend the entire day at the stock show. Theres always something new to see and great vendors with merchandise and delicious food!
The Stock Show is always fun. I recommend making sure you look at all three floors of the main education building as well as looking outside in the Yards to see all of the animals. Each day features different animals, so if you go the first weekend, you wont see sheep, bison, or yaks because they arrive on other days.
This event has always been a great event to attend! I mean hands down great food, great people, great merchants from all over the place! You’ll find tons on interesting things here. Some stuff you will only see at this even ever! Its very neat even just to walk around and look! The rodeo shows are awesome! There is nothing like it!
Went for a school field trip. We had general admission tickets and there was plenty to do! Saw so many cute animals. Some of the staff werent that nice but I understand with so many people you might get a bit frustrated. This was only the ticket people. The rest were amazing like the girl who works in the restaurant where the petting zoo is. She was super sweet and nice. I definitely recommend bringing the kiddos, I thoroughly enjoyed it and Im a grown woman
The Rodeo is Fantabulous!! So much Fun..
Was a great time!..Lots of food and booths to visit and plenty of livestock to look at
Its okay... After living in Colorado for 9 years I figured we would go because its such a part of Colorado culture. The animals were great to see. The petting zoo was free. And a quick peruse around the shops was nice. You can get to a lot for free parking and take a shuttle, so save money that way if youre on a budget. Other than that I felt there wasnt much to it. Spent only two hours there. Cant really see spending more. Got our tickets free from my kids school. If I had to pay probably wouldnt go again.
I really appreciate and respect the National Western facility theyve helped so many homeless its a good thing that the city of Denver officials orchestrated a place such as this 4 people less fortunate God bless and much love
We enjoy walking through all the animals. Always so interesting to see the impressive care and attention given to make them look so good. The vendors are ok, some a bit cheap but so many we can never get through them all.
Had a great time at the rodeo and concert had vip packet so ate for free so fun love the place
If you cant go a better place in January? Family friendly. Good looking women in jeans and cowboy boots. Really nice people.
The National Western Stock Show is always a good time. As someone who did not grow up near the commercial ranching lifestyle I find it amazing to see everything from the auctions to walking through the stables and watching the grooming. Loads of colorful characters, a great trade show, food, and fun for all ages. The concessions are pretty expensive so make sure you bring a lot of cash or be prepared to shell out some dough. The best deal for food is the BBQ joint inside the complex on the top floor near the trade show. Parking is free all over if you dont mind a little walking. Save the $30, those people are crooks.
Really fun for kids especially if they like animals. You can feel the connection with farm to table and see how hard farmers work. Food, treats, and drinks can add up quick. Bring a water bottle and snacks for little ones.
Had a great time sharing the experience with my daughter for the first time.
Always fantastic!! Last year my then 1 year 4 month old was too young for it, freaked out at the fireworks and slept thru the rodeo... So this year I didnt get rodeo tickets just ground tickets... We watched some practice and he wouldve LOVED the rodeo. Will be back next year with rodeo tickets.
It was really crowded, or at least the kid things were. We arrived at 10 am on Monday morning, but it was MLK holiday, so that may explain the crowds. Still fun! Thank goodness the weather was lovely for January because there were food trucks outside. We sat in the sun and ate lunch outside.
Parking has gotten worse, only lot open for visitors was F lot. Others previously available arent anymore. Rodeo was good but not much has changed. Vendors in the Coliseum were cash only. $25 for 3 tough/dried out pretzels with cheese and one pop.
Had a great time. Tons of vendors, pet-able animals, free and ticketed events. This event is a must attend. General admission tickets are well priced and include grounds access and let you see lots of auctions & events.
The stock show rodeo is a Denver must see. Every seat is a good seat. Lots to do in the stock show floor as well.
I was at the national western complex, but it wasnt for the stock show like Google seems to think. I was at the Denver gem and mineral show. If you live in the area and want rocks, gems, minerals and fossils, and the show isnt going on, you can reach me at [email protected]
Waited thirty-five minutes outside for the shuttle at Coors Field after parking there on their recommendation. Really? If you want people to park at Coors Field provide sufficient shuttles and anticipate high traffic times. Dont just provide a lame excuse about heavy traffic..
Always enjoy going to the rodeo and horse jumping events. Lots of good food to choose from but plan on extra bucks to enjoy it. Im looking forward to the long planned changes and improvements that are coming to such an old worn out place.
Always enjoy the stock show. Good vendors, well organized. Polite and helpful staff. My nephew in showmanship show.
We came on a school field trip and had a blast. The kids were excited about everything! The staff we worked with were friendly and patient. The petting area was my favorite. The kids got to feed and pet all the animals and even got to brush them
I love going to the stock show but this year they had zero parking! You have to park at 58th & Washington and then take a bus. I did find parking a bit closer but it was $40 dollars!! Im not paying $40 to park for any venue let alone that one.
We had an awesome time. Always entertaining. If you have any allergies to horses beware there is not a lot of circulation in the Coliseum and it will affect you.
The stock show has something for everyone—horse jumping, horse competitions, cattle of all types that you can get up close and personal with, and of course the livestock auction. There’s also a big vendor hall that’s fun to peruse. Parking can be tricky, but there are free lots included with admission—don’t pay for parking at any of the private lots.
Love the Coors Art Show at the Western Stock Show.
Parking is not a good thing here. You will have to walk for awhile when the place gets full. I enjoy the rodeo and the various things going on when there are vendors in the area as well. Certainly worth a visit to this historic location when there is a show in town. This is a must see when there are cool events.
Free day!! We went early, stayed 2 hours. Comfortably busy.
First time back to the Stock Show in 9 years, came from MT. Vendors were a huge disappointment, its one just big info commercial. Grounds price changes by the day, I remember when it was $7, now its $15-24. Price of food and beer are over priced. Lot of exhibitors we know no longer go, the treatment of exhibitors is poor. Stock show needs to remember who brought them to the party, exhibitors. The excitement of stock show is no longer there, it was very disappointing.
This event is one of my favorites in our Colorado winter. The livestock and horse shows are amazing. Then add in dog shows, rodeos, and PBR is fun and exciting. This is a very family oriented event and lasts all day every day!!!!!!
Oh such a good time had by everyone who attend the Rodeo. The stock show is always a great time in January. You should always take the time to go and experience our western history.
What a great time we had! Bull riding is one of the most exciting events you can watch anywhere! The best of the best from around the world ride these bulls for at least 8 seconds, which might feel like a slow-motion ride for eternity in some cases! This is the premier rodeo event for the National Western Stock Show, in my opinion. It usually sells out, so order tickets online early to be seated close to the chutes where most of the action is!
Its always fun to take city kids to the petting zoo and to see stock. But very very expensive. And parking has gotten far worse. Shuttle to mile high takes forever waiting in lines. Facilities are antiquated, particularly if you need accessible parking or elevators. The art exhibit was nice. Blah... its ok. Nothing special.
This is a historic event and place. A chance to visit with the country side, and great people watching. The Rodeo and equestrian events are amazing. The power and elegance of the Horses, Bulls and Buffaloes, Yaks, and even the suprising Dogs......a real must see.The cattle dogs are really something to experience.Bring plenty of dough, but discounts (Groupon) and the 1st Tuesday is usually a Free day....time and money well spent. Kids love it! ( bring a lunch)
Great place to hold venues and family fun.
It was a great you hours Family activity for $15 and adult $3 per kids this week. We got to pet sheep sea cows see lots of vendors supplies and walk and talk with lots of farmers and Ranchers everybody was very nice and the experience was wonderful
The vendors are always good, the rodeo is good. Now if I could get out of the parking lot. Weve been sitting here and havent moved for 40 minutes.
Enjoyed the rodeo that was put on by the APCO Conference. This was an awesome time.
Rodeo events are great, high quality competitors. The trade show has a lot of fun vendors. We enjoy going every year. Oh ya, and turkey legs.
One can see the multitude of livestock, and there is a baby animals area. Horse shows, and others shows. Fun cowboy antics show with whip tricks and horses that fetch, rear on camand, and bow. The barrel races are fun to watch.
Always a great time and a must do. A blast for everyone. Service everywhere was great. Thank you for a great time!!!
Its awesome what they are doing for the homeless and they have great shows but that guy getting stabbed was a minor set back
Fun event. Love seeing all the livestock and attending the rodeo. The complex is very confusing to navigate. Wish there were better signs.
Exciting Rodeo, tons of vendors and food everywhere!
Great Grand Prix excitement and full of quality jumpers and riders last night. Food and drinks and memories from way back in the 70s and 80s.made it special. Saw honorary members, Marvin Beeman there!
What a joke this place was Im happy the night mare ends Monday
We did a show here, specifically the market beautiful which was formerly known as the vintage whites market. It was our first out of state show as vendors and we loved everyone we met in Denver. It was a special experience for us getting to connect with another stare that is in the top 10 for highest states with deaths by suicide. This is a huge place so it’s easy to get lost but perfect place for big events. If we met you, thank you for joining and supporting us. We love Denver and can’t wait to come back.
Event was a lot of fun. Ridiculously busy. Fun for all ages! Only gripe would be to run more shuttles to the parking lots.
Very fun activity for the whole family. Lots of shopping and eating places. Prepare to spend the day!
Always a blast and fun for anyone. Expect top notch care and service with tons of food and vendors. Great fun.
Have been to many different events at this venue. They have lots of parking, great staff, and great food. They are starting a remodel of the entire place so be on the lookout for new additions!
For such a large event, we found it well organized and easy to navigate. Staff was very friendly! Colorado family fun at its best!
This is such a fun time but you need to go and watch actual Rodeo. The Mexican Rodeo is the most Visual and fun and you need to make sure you walk through the whole Stock Yards super fun.
Lots of cows. So thats cool
Had a really great time with the family. Id recommend to anyone to go and enjoy a day at the stock show.
The rodeo is great as always, animals on display and the people displaying them are amazing. The website is less than perfect this year, I recomend just waiting in line for event tickets. Parking south west of the Coliseum was perfect.
I grew up with the stock show and I found it a little disappointing. It was way over priced and not as many animals to see like there used to be.
Nice venue and actually nicer than the neighboring Denver Coliseum. They need to update the video monitors, but with the close in seating, the screens aren’t needed too much.
Love the Tradition, Jack Daniels didnt show up this year but thats okay.
Best people-watching event in Denver. The baby goats will make you pee your pants with joy.
My daughter and I went on free day. Parking was easy and it was not very crowded for a free day. We did go right when it opened though so Im sure that made a difference.
Its our family tradition to attend each year. Tons of great shopping, a plethora of food options and so many animals to see. Be sure to check out the rodeo too!
Not for the mobility challenged. If youre in a wheelchair, fine. But if you need to sit down periodically, forget it. There is NO PLACE to sit.
A fun cultural experience.
Great stock show and pro rodeo event steeped in tradition, history and the ways of the West!
Great events not so great food options and to expensive. Chicken tenders were not good say in warmer to long and the burger prepared ahead served from under a heat lamp was cold. If theyre going to charge outrageous prices they should at least have decent food vendors
It is always a first-class operation when you go there
Great time as always. Was a bit disappointed in the morning rodeo that we attended. Very few participants in each event, like they were going through the motions just to suck a few more dollars out of the stock show.
