Beautiful and a great place to take a walk in nature without having to go out to the middle of nowhere. Its right in Delray but it feels totally isolated in the reserve. Walkway is very well maintained, flat, and easy to go at your own pace. There are plenty of benches, but bring water and sunscreen. If you go in early April the chicks are super cute and fluffy.

This is such a wonderful wetland area to visit. Many people used to visit for morning walks/runs. My brother does bird photography and video and have done so here several times. There is a lot of bird-life, alligators, turtles, and more. Perfect place to spend the morning. It is sad that is closed.

Love Wakodahatchee. One of my favorite sites to visit back home. There’s plenty of wildlife EVERY time you visit. The only issue is that at times you have to wait in line for parking if you go anytime later in the day. The line usually doesn’t take long and it’s definitely worth it though.

Off season is the best time to visit. Parking is hard to come by during season. The boardwalk is well maintained and up close and personal with the wildlife that thrives here. Each time I visit, its a different experience.Wood Storks, herons great and small, alligators, iguanas, moorhens, and more! If youre visiting Palm Beach County, this cannot be missed! Wear sunscreen and have your camera at the ready!

Very nice place to take a morning stroll on your day off. You can see different types of birds, fish, ducks, iguanas, turtles and even an alligator. This a gem in Delray Beach because it a free of charge. There are ample enough sitting places to even have a picnic. Once in awhile you’ll even see a Park Ranger that will answer all your questions about this wetland. Highly recommend for anyone living or visiting the Delray Beach area.

Walk here often and love it every time. Yesterdays temps (cold for South Florida) brought record numbers out to take photos and enjoy the brisk temps.People were from all parts of the world including Sweden, France, South America, and the US were just a few I chatted with. While the animals seemed more scarce than usual, I did get a few photos of the rascally raccoon stealing garbage

Wakodahatchee is a must do in the Boynton Beach area. The park is attached to the POTW and is a constructed wetland. There is a a very nice loop boardwalk running through the wetland. It offers a great opportunity to view native (and invasive) species in Florida. Alligators, wild birds, lizards, etc. Great bird watching and photography spot. Also a restroom on-site just outside of the entrance. Been coming here for years and the kids love it!

Probably the best birding spot in South Florida! You can see all the same birds as in the Everglades National Park, but in a more concentrated area. You can even see birds in the wet season that are too scattered to see at the NP. Lots of species roost here at night, so its beautiful right before sunset. There are also a bunch that nest here in the spring! If you love birds, you have to check it out.
