Great place, fun to visit, that puffer was huge, and the sharks were very active for nurse sharks. Im used to them staying inactive on the floor. I got some great shots.

My kids and my husband and I really enjoyed our visit! We would love to come back when some of the hands-on activities are back open. The admission price was extremely reasonable, especially considering prices of other attractions in the area. The staff was friendly and my kids bought a few stuffed animals as souvenirs that are adorable.

What a fun experience for the family. It’s a cute old wooden house filled full of wonderful Florida creatures. They have butterflies out front facing Delray Beach, turtles, snakes and a Macaw Parrot in the front patio, fish, more snakes, an opossum, an owl and shark inside, and a pool out back with sharks in it. What else can you ask for in under 3000 square feet. It is a learning experience geared for kids with a play room upstairs that includes books, microscopes and puppets. The back yard had three nurse sharks in the converted pool. The feeding is around 10:30 and 1:30 on Sunday and it is something not to miss. The guide gives a great talk while feeding the sharks and is full of shark facts. We really enjoyed the place and for $5 you really can’t go wrong. Free parking.

Historic home across the street from the beach. Displays of Shells from around the world, tanks for some small sea creatures, and Feed the Sharks 1x per week event. The sharks are housed out back. When I visited, it was Sand Sharks. You can see the Sharks anytime swimming out back.

There are not enough words to say how much I enjoyed this place. There were replicas of fossilized shark jaws. So many of them. There was a beautiful shell Gallery upstairs with shells from all over the world. I was so envious. But the best part was seeing the nurse sharks being fed. And learning a great deal about some of the native sharks to the state of Florida. This is a definite place to go if you are in Delray. Wasnt just educational but was greatly entertaining.

Small little 2 story old house that was converted to a sea animal exhibit with plenty to read about and a great feeding show. Good for the kids and family for educational material. The narrator of the feeding show of the nurse sharks made the whole visit worthwhile. He was great. If you have time to wait for the feedings make sure you stay for it. You wont regret it.

Wonderful family friendly destination that wasnt overcrowded or over commercial. Take the time to explore what on the surface seems like a small place because thhere are loads of learning opportunities for the young and not so young. We will make this a must stop visit whenever we are in the area. Check times for the shark and ray feeding sessions because the marine biologist who does these goes above and beyond in sharing information and sparking interest to learn more.

Incredible place to visit with my 8 yr old.Sandoway is located in an historic restored home just across the street from the beach. Perfect place to cool off or visit during the rain. Its on the small side but is packed with great activities. On the deck outside is a very friendly entertaining macaw parrot, a friendly box turtle, more turtles, a tortoise, and tabletop sandbox fossil dig for $1.The first floor has beautiful aquarium setups with incredible corals & creatures. Theres a microscope lab room with guided discovery booklets for each grade level. Theres fossil displays, shark teeth displays and aquariums with small sharks, alligators & snakes.Outside is a manta ray touch tank & a tank with three big nurse sharks, bat rays and a big puffer fish. Check website for feeding times. The handler is entertaining and shares an incredible amount of shark knowledge during the feeding. *** There was a 10 yr old birthday kid there who was able to assist and feed the sharks. We were told that the feeding opportunity is avail for big kids with a signed waiver. Must call to reserve a space for training in advance. ***Upstairs is a kids room with books, stuffies, models, etc with an outdoor observation deck, a nocturnal room with possum and owl and the SHELL MUSEUM. The shell collection has specimens from all over the world and is super organized in pull out drawers that even a 2yr old was able to access. As an avid shell gatherer, my kiddo was mesmerized by all of the beautiful examples. We had a blast and stayed for 2hrs.
