Then and now... that dog was loved and cared for by the town of Daytona. If it were to happen today... he would get taken by animal control and eventually euthanized.
Totally just stumbled upon this while out walking. Pure local history at its finest. Both touching and heartwarming.
Discovered this today on a walk. Such a nice touching memorial to `a good dog.` Nice to see so many people appreciated this pet.
Great place for anyone who appreciates dogs loyalty and love!
Amazing story of a loving towna and its love for a dog who loved everything and everyone
Very nice place to reflect on not just the beloved Brownie, but all our precious dogs. My mom knew the original Brownie, and I grew up hearing stories about him. Great edition to Downtown and just across from the fabulous Dog Boutique that shares his name!
After driving thirty minutes to reach Brownie’s final resting place we were overjoyed to see the well sculpted shrub in the shape of sweet Brownie, it could use a bit of a trim for the shape was slightly off. However, the plaque was entirely wonderful “A good dog” indeed.
Statue on Beach Street across from Jackie Robinsons Ballpark along Halifax River in Daytona Beach
Its relaxing.
Such a good boy!
