Totally great place to spend a morning or afternoon, or the whole day.Plants, trees, and flowers that you wont see often unless you do a lot of world wide traveling.My wife and I spent the afternoon stopping and gawking at the wonderful plants. We were here on the 21st of November and the fall colors were also glorious.A fun place to use an app to help identify flowers and leaves.The only drawback was the lack of bathroom facilities and drinking water.

We like to go out to UC Davis a couple times a year to check out the plants and enjoy the college campus. During covid this was wonderful, plenty of space to sit in green grass and relax or walk along the water to spot turtles and various birds. Our kids enjoyed seeing the horses, cows and llamas as well. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Spring sale of good nor-cal plants. Four dates in the spring. Check for dates. All helps the student programs in the horticultural dept.

I wanted to write a good review yet I cannot. Not well marked, need to be a local to know its there. I am a new local to the area, drove by it a couple of times. Only parking is 1 hour on the street. A visit in July after a couple of months with no rain not a good idea. The gardens are not watered otherwise. I saw sections 1 2 and 3 on the map, not the lush areas I read about online. The gardens are made up of 10 different areas, best to drive to each major section. There are some signs that used to be there marking some plants that are missing with no signs of replacements to come.

Absolutely love the park atmosphere. A great pkace to walk our dog & have a kick back picnic type day

This is an excellent nursery for finding native California plants and other plants that thrive in a Mediterranean climate. Plant sales are held in the spring and fall.

The arboretum is one of those zen like places that allow you to regroup and reconnect with nature. Although next the UC Davis, youd hardly notice it. Family friendly and relaxing. Also, its an idealic place for photography.
